Tuesday Talk

My friends came over yesterday evening and we made vegetarian and regular egg rolls.  We made 250 egg rolls--don't laugh.  The friends are three guys who are gay and are in my "Hooker" Club or crochet club. They wanted me to teach them how to make egg rolls and as it turns out, I have a ton of fresh cabbage and carrots and the guys brought all the other ingredients (I used my own shrimp).  Anyway, in spite of my very small kitchen, it didn't take us long to get an assembly line going.  We did them in batches and after we ate a few, I lined all my cookie sheets with parchment paper and we gently placed the cooked egg rolls for flash freezing.  Around midnight, we had all of the egg rolls cooked and frozen and bagged for each of us to have about 58 each cause you know we ate some. I have never cooked and frozen that many of anything ever.  The good thing about group cooking is after the guys got the hang of it, I sat nearby, told them canning stories, and let them do the hard work.  They are planning on us doing other group cooking, freezing projects.   I told them to bring a bunch of vegetables over and I'll make teach them how to can vegetable soup.  Before they left, I made them shred 4 large cabbages for my crock so that I could salt, squeeze, and start the fermenting.  This morning at 6:00 AM, one of the guys texted me to see if the cabbage had started fermented. LOL...I think I have created monsters...

Okay, on my agenda today is to go through all of my clothes...every single closet, drawer, shelf, etc. and if I have not worn it in the last year, it's going to the Salvation Army.  I've done that with my husband's stuff and now I am doing mine.

Breakfast: scrambled eggs (about 1 cup)

Lunch: I think I'll eat one of my egg rolls

Dinner: Shrimp and vegetables

Snacks: we got another watermelon and it's good so that's what I'll be snacking on today.

Ladies, post, tell me something...tell me what you are doing today.

Good Morning Jeannie and OFF,

Sorry I've been AWOL.  I was in Pennsylvania for a few weeks, and my laptop wouldn't connect to my sis-in-law's Wifi, even though it connected before.  I kept getting bumped off.

I helped Mom and my sister, and we finally got the power of attorney signed by Mom, Sis and me.  I also talked with Mom's doctor and learned she has mild dementia.  I am trying to arrange for her to come stay here for awhile.  My Sis' place is a disaster, and it's the house Mom raised us in.  Mom already has Bipolar depression, and that dump is depressing more so.  Mom and Dad didn't have much money, but the house was always in good repair, and clean.  Not anymore.

I got Mom out of the house a lot, and she had fun.  I also went to a Phillies game with my son, Chris.  It was at the height of a horrific heatwave, but we had tickets in the Hall of Fame Club, where we  could go into air conditioning when we needed.

My food has been off, but I've set a goal I'll share later.  I have to get to an appointment.

Jeannie, your cooking club sounded fun.  I've done that before.

Hugs,

Trish

Trish,

You are a good daughter. Living conditions can certainly contribute, even cause, depression. I am so glad you are there for her.

Jeannie

Today is cleaning day for me also.  I generally run errands on cleaning day as well.  If I can get all the chores done in one day it frees up my other days for exploring.

This evening we are going to look for the wild horses.  Drove out there a couple of weeks ago and only found their poop.  It was noonish and I'm guessing they were looking for shade and there is none close to the road and we were in the Toyota.  It's not a good off road vehicle.  Today we will be able to get off road.  I've seen a different herd but they were just walking along.  I'm hoping to see them running or playing or something.

breakfast - toast with peanut butter and banana

lunch - left over rib meat no sauce

snack - grapes or blueberries

dinner - don't know yet

Linda,

Did you see the wild horses?  I remember seeing them a few years ago and it was so cool....

I actually feel cold this morning. I have an afghan on my lower half and I am getting into a hot bathtub right after I post. I love my bathtub. The solar crew is up in our attic making lots of noise. I'll see if I can drown them out with some music while I bathe. After my bath I will be going to the Fruitstand to get a watermelon and some other ripe fruit.

Good idea on the clothing Jeannie!  I'm trying to clean out my greenhouse so that I can store all of my fairy garden items in there. That will free up my craft room for all of the Stampin Up items that my friend Linda is giving me. She has so much and I am wondering how to store it all. I will end up sharing it with our other crafting friends after she is gone but her idea is for me to be like a lending library for all of them. Trying to help her feel her dream, but Lord, she had so much of all of it.

Breakfast: protein drink

Lunch: leftover fajitas

Dinner: going out...probably scrambled eggs with bacon

Snacks: watermelon, nectarines

Julia,

I freeze all the time. I wear a hoodie to the grocery store and people look at me like I am nuts.  After I get rid of all this unnecessary **** I will never keep something I don't need again....I have eight coats....no one needs 8 freakin' coats.

Good afternoon, everyone!

Another wonky sleep so I just got up at 1 pm...trouble is now, I am awake for hours then sleep for an hour , then awake again, then sleep again...so my sleep cycle is all mixed up. However, to be positive, I did sleep albeit strangely and I feel like a human being again...so, for me, that is wonderful.

After taking all of my supplements, I made a gift card for my "secret sister" because this evening is our Beginning Day ...meaning the beginning of our meeting season starts now..we always celebrate and catch up with our summer adventures and make a dinner party out of it. We each draw a name for our annual "secret sister" and through the year, we gift our Secret Sister with small treats or gift cards for times like St Paddys Day, Easter, mothers Day, birthday, Hollowe'en,anniversary and, of course, Christmas.

Today I packaged a lovely ceramic cheese tray with matching cheese knife and a matching hand/tea towel...,all "grape harvest" themed. I did not have purple ribbon so I used a cream-coloured gift bag and cut a rectangle out of a wallpaper sample book (I love those! and they're FREE!), folded and glued them together, used some pretty foil truffle wrappers that I save and twisted them into a flower, used a white twist-tie (from the grocery store) as the stem, and then glued the flower to the card along with the purple and black feathers from my feather boas. and created a name tag *MARGE *...so now I am ready with her gift.

I've been working on sketches of Pegasus for several children's book for a client & hope to get both books completed by next week. These books are created to support CD scripts for kids with night terrors and for kids with skin issues. They are written by a Dr of Hypnotherapy.

Breakfast: protein drink

Lunch: orange and piece of hard cheese

Dinner: will be in a restaurant and have already checked their menu and will be ordering fish

Bedtime snack: cup of Italian Wedding Soup.

Using wallpaper samples is an excellent idea. You are so creative.

I've started making  hand made greeting cards with the pages...I just love the different textures of wall paper that is now available.

At the end of May, four of our BPW executive attended a 3 day Provincial Conference up in Toronto and our club is hosting NEXT YEAR's Provincial Conference here in Niagara-on-the-Lake plus celebrating our 100th birthday...the oldest BPW club in Canada. We needed to make up special invitations and a bag of brochures of attractions and reasons why BPW members from all over Ontario should attend.  So we made up really pretty bags filled with treats and brochures and other fun things and  I made up special INVITATIONS for the front of each bag...EIGHTY FIVE of them!

I used wallpaper sample pages and glued on the photocopied hand written invitation to our birthday celebration and went thru TWO full sets of GLITTER GLUE, fake diamonds, skinny ribbons and sequins. It took me eight days to make them all..each invitation was specifically hand labelled with each name on it. My cats were running around with glitter ...Hosey in her whiskers...she was just curious...but DemonSeed SAT on top of four invitations that were still wet....you've got to picture this- drying invitations 12 inches by 16 inches all over any flat surface that I could find. So DemonSeed had a GLITTER BUTT!

But the paint stores throw the wallpaper sample books out every so often and I just dropped by and asked and got six sample books for free! The books for children's bedroom wallpaper had Disney and other characters, borders and more...so I gave three to my grand daughters and I kept the others and whenever I need a card, I make one.
