Friday For Sure

Friday, Yeah! Well, last night, I went to bed way too early so I got up around midnight and couldn't go back to sleep....Now I am fighting the urge to go to bed. I will not get my days and nights confused....no way.

DH went to work today. He has to do some teaching thing for the people who are learning something about something. I understand nothing about what he does. LOL

I have been on pain medication since the car wreck in the early 90s. Over the years, I have gone through times when I cut down to one or two a day and then there have been times when I took the maximum dose. My rheumatologists has maintained my pain management and when I've had surgeries or other things that required a larger dose, the doctor would contact my rheumatologists and they would make adjustments. So, since he is retiring, I have a new doctor and she is young and yesterday, she went over my last ten years of tests, MRIs, X-rays, surgeries, etc., and this morning, first thing, I get a call from her.  Apparently, she is concerned about my vertebrae being so bad and why haven't I had surgery on my shoulders and when I am getting my hips and knees replaced.  I told her that I was coming to her office soon and we could talk then but I get around and she said, Oh, I thought you were in a wheel chair. I laughed and she said what's so funny and I said, well, I was for a long time, but I walk pretty good but if I am not able to control the pain, I am afraid I might end up immobile again...she said, oh, do I need to get your pain med refill now. I said, no, the other doctor has me covered for two more months....now here is the deal...do they even talk to each other.  Did my old doctor just send her the file without telling her a damn thing?  Has he not put somewhere on my chart that I am ambulatory?  ****  I really hope the neurologists does a better job of flipping me over. LOL

Okay, today will be a day of rest. I spent way too much time doing piddly **** yesterday so today, I am watching crime documentaries.

Breakfast: egg, toast

Lunch: soup

Dinner: we are going out to eat...probably shrimp

Snacks: celery and cucumbers.

Ladies, talk on...it is raining here today and looks like fall.

Good morning Jeannie

In answer to your question, NO doctors do not talk to each other.  A phone call by their nurse or whomever to get you passed on is about all they do.  I am having vision problems because my surgeon (world class) and my glaucoma specialist did not talk to each other.

I am going back to the museum today to finish up the bill cody section.  It will have taken us 8 visits to make it through each section and not minutely as I like to do.  It is just too big and in a city of only 9,000.    I guess its true that when you do not have to build prisons you can build parks and the arts.

Breakfast - toast with peanut butter and bananas

lunch - salad with protein probably chicken

snack - still have grapes

dinner - going out don't know where.

OMG, I loved the Cody section. We spent hours and hours in the museum and plan to go back next year.

You are walking your ass right off...I love it.

Hi All,

It's interesting that doctors don't have a conference or something when they exchange files. I guess they are tooooo busy.

You know Linda, I remember going to a Bill Cody museum when I was 13. The only reason I remember that is because they had a matching that formed a wax like figure of him to take home as a souvenir. That was a cool machine.

I'm driving to Tracy today to have a birthday dinner with some women from my work days. Not my birthday, but one of theirs. Hope you have a great Friday!

Breakfast- protein drink

Lunch- toast with peanut butter (borrowed from Linda...sounds good)

Dinner- eating out...probably chicken with veggies

Snacks- Apple pieces with jalapeño cheese

Julia,

We took our grandkids and they were given these little packets that contained area maps and at each area, they were able to get their maps stamped. They loved it.

I am a little disillusioned with the health care at this point but my new doctor seems to be eager to get started.

I wish I could eat peanut butter...I am loving walnut butter and cashew butter....almond butter is good too.

Yvonne,

You are doing so good. Dropping down to a size 12 is great news.  I know you are so proud of your hard working paying off in such a big way.

I have to agree that all of our doctors SHOULD be in communication with each other on OUR individual files. Having said that, they all seem so busy (and here it is hard to get a new doctor, short supply), that we are lucky to have one at all.

Another hot day here in Niagara, I stayed home. It is PEACH HARVEST here too...tomorrow I will purchase a bushel from the farmer next door as I head to my artsy-fartsy afternoon.. ..peaches, nectarines, grapes. Planning for our 3 day BPW conference and 100th birthday celebration takes a lot of my time...today, I got a lot of phone work done.

Also, I created several images to transfer onto my grand daughters' t-shirts...the older girl wanted an ALIEN image..the younger one just wants her birthdates 9-1 (Sept 1st) and I added a bundle of hearts...they will all be printed in reflective FOIL. That will be done tomorrow at my DESIGNERS PLAYDATE afternoon.

Tonight, I will bake a batch of zucchini bread plus some cheese & hot sausage roll-ups to take along to our crafting session with extras for hubby and sons, of course. Also waiting to do WHITE laundry after 7 pm when the hydro rates are cheaper. We have the highest electric rates in all of Canada here. I will be using HO****er, hoping that the heat will also SHRINK my cotton skirts and tops..all white...well, it is worth a try. Darn, when I never wanted my clothes to shrink, they would.,...now I NEED them to shrink and they won't!!  HOW IRONIC!

I am two pounds above my lowest weight and though I am still a bog woman, and carry mt weight well so that most would never realize just how much I really weigh, I am thrilled and excited. I will see my SLEEP DOCTOR next week and will amaze him with my weight loss- I only see him once a year re my C-PAP machine.

I am SEWING-IMPAIRED (sorry, Mom), but I have so many skirt and tops that need to be taken in...and I cannot "roll the waists" anymore...lol...most need shortening from the bottom...yuck. I do not have the patience to do this...my bad.

Breakfast: hot chocolate protein drink

Snack: banana

Lunch: cottage cheese with crushed pineapple

Snack: none

Dinner: pot roast (trying to get more BEEF in for iron) & steamed spinach plus rice cooked in chicken broth.

Bedtime snack: Hot chocolate protein drink w/meds OR a quick fried egg on a piece of multigrain toast (I always forget how good toast and eggs taste until I finally make them...easy to eat for me, quick prep)

Nancy,

You keep yourself so busy and I am so amazed at all that you do. I had to take in a bunch of my pants and was so happy to have that ability but I can certainly understand those who don't sew.

OMG, I love canned peaches and am going to pick up some more tomorrow and am going to can a bushel or two for my daughter.
