Thursday: Looks like we made it....
I didn't want to start the thread two days running but here goes. Hey Ladies, I hope you are moving, making smart food choices, and meditating. Today, I had a breakfast burrito for breakfast that included an egg, some picante sauce, and some cheese. Lunch will be potato soup. Dinner will probably be vegetable soup.
Hope you guys are on track....eat, move, drink, think...or something like that.
still reading... not much going on in my life...
I ate really not good for me food last night ...and got rewarded with a lb lower than the day before... I guess high carb meal - caused a good BM.. no..eating carbs does not make me lose fat-weight... butI do follow a rather very low carb diet- so my body "demands " re-carbing once in awhile. Apparently taht helps with restoring leptins and leptin sensitivity.. plus insulin is needed to properly convert thyroid hormones: T4-T3
on another note - since i am allergic to dairy and soy, and I have low sugar tolerance.. I have to make my own snacks.. and i always look for new snacks - the portable foods I can just grab on a go, taht is both- tasty and good for me.
I found a new snack - it is paleo and it does not have noting that I should not have. It is rather sweet, and more like grain free granola bar. Yummy. I found them in WF.. and bought one... it took me 3 weeks to get the courage to eat it... I was pleasantly surprised that the "bar" was very tasty and that it satisfied my need for a sweet snack without messing up my BS.

so far I tried the Original and Kale Krunch. I can't taste the Kale...( i really don't like kale). Both have reasonable carbs and real fiber from nuts and fruits (that does not affect my BS).
They have more real food -protein bars - but for me - the 6 or 7 gr of sugar is about what my body can handle....

Hala,
Snacks are always my area of most struggle. If I make them and bring them with me, I do fine; however, I don't always bring them. Lately, I have had a a ton of fresh vegetables that I keep on hand but sometimes, I just need a cracker or a chip. I make a really good energy bar and it requires no cooking...I'll post the recipe and you guys can try it. They are delicious and very filling.
I make a lot of homemade stuff. I like homemade ideas... looking forward to it. (FYI - i can't have grains - i.e.oats, rice wheat, or any milk product or soy, too much sugar..or SA.)
What i like about these bars - taht at $2.50 each - I can buy bunch and they will keep good without fridge for a year.. in a car or in my purse.. There are not many bars that I can buy and eat..and that takes good...

Hi ladies
I'm having a tired day again. I don't know what is causing it. I do get my blood work done end of next month for my 2 year checkup. Hopefully it will give me a clue. I even went to sleep earlier than I normally do.
Breakfast egg whites ham and cheese omelet and string cheese. Lunch salad, little bit of cottage cheese and some prime rib probably for supper I'll have chicken and dumpling stew. Snack no sugar added fudgesicle, Greek yogurt with chia seeds, and apple.
Everyone have a good evening.

Yvonne, approximately 2 years post op I was feeling horrible. I had lab work done and the doc could not find anything wrong with me. I still felt horrible . One get on OH asked to see my results. I requested them from my doc.. ****il then - they would just told me things are normal) and she pointed out to me some things that the docs did not noticed : I had number of blood markers very low normal.- they were theoretically normal - but barely. Plus they did not test my ferritin, or my detail thyroid panel (T4 or T3) . I went back and requested the additional lab done. By that time - end of year 3 - my feritin was just 9-10 (the low limit is 10 or 18 - depends who is testing) and my D3 was low, as well as T3..
I started B12 shots..(apparently sublingual did not work for me) I got iron infusions increase my proteins and started taking large dosages of dry D3. On top of that my cholesterol was very low - and low cholesterol can cause low energy, depression, hormonal imbalances, etc etc. I started eating coconut oil and produce made with coconuts... Plus more eggs....
Within a few weeks I felt sooo much better.
Make sure the doc test all of those items. And ask for results to check them for yourself.
