Surprised mom one started a thread today. It's 6:40 my time.

Going to have a quiet weekend... no camping.  So I'm taking it easy.  Tomorrow I have someone coming to clean up my backyard.  He'll remove all the brush and fallen branches, and rake it out and mow it.  I am the proud owner of a riding mower (and a snowblower) so life will be much easier.  For years I've wanted both these items but when Jim was alive, we couldn't afford anything.  My life has changed so much since the fire.... all for the better.

Went to the doctor today.  I think I mentioned doing the "All Meat Week" and I've been following since I moved into my new place.  Since my visit one month ago, I lost 18 pounds!!!  I'm doing a happy dance.  . I'm hoping to reach Onederland before the summer is over.  My freezer is full of all types of meat: steak, hamburger, chicken, spareribs, sausage, etc.  And eggs and cheese in the fridge along with salad fixings, summer squash, etc.  I am ready to keep on going, like the Energizer Bunny!!

Hope everyone is well.

Hey Mary,

One more day of AP scoring and then I head home.  My room mate is crazy so I am in the lobby working on a project that deserves my full attention.  We are sequestered from 8-5 and bussed back to our hotels....of course I have the crazy room mate....damn.

I'll try to post later...Congrats on the 18 pounds.....

CONGRATULATIONS, Mary! 18 pounds, wow!! Great job...I know it isn't easy. I also focus on high protein but add fruits and veggies for fibre as I have some issues needing more fibre.

Laughs at poor Jeannie re CRAZY ROOMIE! Been there, done that! One more day!

Today I saw the surgeon regarding getting full knee replacements on both legs. The CORTISONE shots did not help at all. But before, surgery, he suggested that I try DURALANE...it is a natural lubricant injected into the sac around the knee joint. Our Provincial health Insurance does not cover this but our secondary health coverage MIGHT. It's $425 per knee. The surgeon suggested that I just have ONE knee done first  (I was prepared to have BOTH knees injected today)...in case this doesn't help the pain...no point in wasting over $400.00..well, a doctor making sense...I really like this guy. He warned me to expect 3 days of pain ...not sure if from the needle itself or if it takes a few days for the lubricant to spread around and coat the entire joint...but I am handling it all rather well...can't be worse than what I am already experiencing.

Today's menu was:

B protein drink

Snack- missed, was out

L   tossed salad with chicken meat

Snack:  missed

D  a few small pieces of smoked (low fat) Dutch sausage  & green & yellow beans

Bedtime snack: an orange
