Monday, Monday; So good ...

I bet I have walked twenty miles today. I have also eaten very little because of the rigorous reading schedule and the horrible food. My roommate is bipolar and she is manic, so every evening, when I get back to my room, there is nothing that I can do: no checking email, no working, no talking to DH....and I need to get some work done for my real job.  So today, I got in at 6:00 and said, gotta run and I am in the lobby in the corner by the stairs, working....so I thought I'd say hello and hope you are doing well.  This is day three of reading horrible essays and I have to tell you that my back isn't hurting nearly as bad this year as in previous years.

I hope you guys are sticking to your plans and eating and moving and looking for your inner and outer good. Today, I looked in the mirror and I shrieked; I am so pale and I really need a good facial.  Tomorrow, I am going to the hotel salon and am getting my face massaged and cleansed and all that.  I am getting a good back rub too.....My husband's treat.

Goodnight and sleep well.....

Sorry to hear you got the roommate from hell. Good that you are doing something for yourself tomorrow.

I've been eating on plan. I took my walk today.

Its 10:30pm in Atlanta.  We put the 5 year old to bed an hour ago.  It was an hour past her bedtime but there is just too much excitement going on for her.  She is taking swim lessons, had her birthday party, got tons of gifts that she just has to play with and no set get up time.  Sooo tonight it went a little past normal bed time.  She is usually pretty good about it and will tell you her  bed time is 8:30.

I sat down with her today and did some educational stuff with her and was amazed.  I know I always taught in title one schools and my kids were disadvantaged but she knows  so much more than any kid starting kindergarten that I have ever seen.

She counts to 100

she counts by 10's and 5's.

she recites the alphabet'

she recognizes the letter, can name it and can match the upper case to the lower case

She can look at two groups of objects and tell you which is more and which is less

When the instructions said which group has fewer, I thought she would be confused but she wasn't.

She can look at pictures of objects in two columns and draw a line to the two objects that rhyme.

That was just the first 6 or 7 pages.

She does get one thing backwards....instead of saying what does elephant begin with she will say what begins with elephant.  The answer is of course E.

She has not had a day of pre school instruction.  This all comes from working with mom and dad and her own brain.

Am I just a proud Nana or is she as bright as I think she is????

I have 4 more days here then it is home again.  It is hot here and I am sure I will be going back to a HOT Houston.  I think I am going to take an hour or so and read before I turn in.

Hope everyone had a great day.
