Checking in
Good Morning Ladies
It's noon and I am the first to check in.
I had my protein drink for breakfast
Lunch will be veggies and tuna
supper will be shrimp grilled with veggie
I am doing laundry and packing. I leave Wednesday for Atlanta to see my grand daughter and my son and DIL. I will be there 10 days. Laundry and packing will be my exercise for today. Later I will be going to the bank and also running a couple of errands. Tomorrow its clean house and any last minute laundry. I will go to line dance if I can.
Yesterday's trip to NASA was fascinating. They hope to reach mars with a human in 20 years. That would be incredible. Right now it takes 6months to reach Mars. They are doing research on plasma energy witch when fully developed will allow one to reach mars in 6weeks.
The shuttle program was used to carry supplies and crew to the international space center. It was very expensive to do this, which is probably why the program was scrapped in favor of private industry. Right now private industry in partnership with NASA is working to make the trip to the international space center more economical. In order to do that they are working on ways to reuse the capsule and the rocket that powers it. The capsule has been done but the reuse of the rocket is new. Space X, a private company has been working on this and has successfully landed the rocket back on Earth, or I should say water. They landed that huge rocket in the ocean on a barge. That is mind boggling.
I must say I am disappointed in one thing. The display of the Nasa 905 ( the plane that ferried the shuttle back to Kennedy space center) and the shuttle on its back is not authentic. The plane is the authentic plane but the shuttle is a replica because Washington did not see fit to let Houston have an authentic one when the program shut down. They went instead to New York, California, Virginia and I think maybe the Smithsonian. New York and California did so much for the space program and Houston so little. I hope you are reading sarcasm there. I guess Texas was not in good favor in 2011.
Hi Linda,
I loved the synopsis of your trip. The plasma energy sounds like a Star Trek!
My meal plan for today: Protein drink for breakfast, tuna for lunch and chicken soup that I made yesterday for dinner. I cut a delicious watermelon yesterday and it will be my snacks for the next few days.
I will continue cleaning my greenhouse today. I am removing any dead plants and organizing it all. We are leaving for Tahoe for a week on Sunday and I need to have order so that my daughter can tell what needs to be watered.
That's it for me. Heading out to be threaded if you know what that means!
Julia
Julia
there are a lot of star trek stuff going on at NASA. Hope I live long enough to see some of it come to fruition. Wish I was smart enough to understand it all. Wish my memory was good enough to remember what I learn. I learned so much yesterday that I don't remember today. Guess I really didn't learn it.
Does threading really work.
Hey Linda, Julia, and those to come.
I have been dragging today. Anyway, I did manage to get my yoga in and I've done some pretty intense meditation.
Breakfast was loaded oatmeal which, for the first time ever, made me so sick....I had to go back to bed for like thirty minutes...don't know but it's happening a lot with the dumping or not dumping.
Lunch: I had shrimp and broccolli.
snack: raw veggies (cucumbers, bell peppers, and celery)
dinner: Trout...corn on the cob, okra, and squash. My daughter's garden is working overtime so we are eating the extra...and with the grand kids fresh eggs from their hens, we are barely buying groceries. The trout was from my grandsons' and BIL's fishing a couple of weeks ago...they are huge too.
snack tonight will not be watermelon...I'm tired of waking up peeing every hour. LOL....carrots and celery. I need a full night's sleep.
Ladies, make some good decisions.
