Monday, Monday; So Good to Me....
Ladies,
It's here. Monday. Wow. Yesterday was a good day. I ate very reasonable; I didn't cry too much as my first born grandson graduated, with a large scholarship, which surprised me. We ate trout, bass, and catfish and tons of veggies and some fruit. I made hushpuppies and by the end of the day, we were all tired. Of course, they put the volley ball net up and all the kids played volley ball....my nephew, who is 54 had to sit with the old folks because he hurt his knee and we all laughed and said, this is the transition from playing to sitting and I said, dear, soon you will be like me, watching from the kitchen window. LOL....yes we are all aging.
Well, today should be a good day for me. All the students have loaded up and summer school is two weeks off. Our intercession is a very short time and few students are here for that. We are a typical college town so when summer hits, we lose more than half of our population (the students go home). Yeah...no waiting in line at stores.
Ladies, have a good first day back....catch you all later.
Good Morning Jeannie and everyone else
Jeannie You must be so proud and exhausted. I will be ancient when my grands graduate from high school. Glad you had a good time
I am on my way to the orthopedic to discuss my knees and exactly how bad they are. I have had this appointment for 5 months. My back doctor called the ortho office and even with his intervention this was the first available appointment. Don't know what to expect.
Back later when I am home.
Linda, I've been there with the ortho guys and the knees. It's a big decision to make, discussing replacement parts. I thought it would be a good move, but it didn't work so well for me. Not that it won't work for you, though. I seem to have had issues because of fibro and nerve problems. Because once I had the neurostim trial, the pain in the knees disappeared. Now, all I have to do is get the OK from the cardiologist and I can have the neurostim implanted for good. I hope that works.
I did have some good news last week. I got my Lyrica free prescription approved through Pfizer. I got a 90-day supply sent through the mail. My prescription coverage wouldn't pay for it anymore, and it wanted to replace it with neurontin, which really had bad side effects for me (I had to take high dosages and that led to memory issues). So I was glad to get the Lyrica approved.
I'm back. I had knee x-rays taken and I have the disc. The report will be e-mailed to me in a day or so. Been having problems with my thumbs for a couple of years also. In addition to pain my forearm gets numb when the thumb is used much. Dr. Maganti said the numbness was nerves. She gave me exercises to try and injections in both thumb joints. If the numbness persists I need a nerve conduction test done. She thinks I have spurs on that joint and when I move it the nerve gets rubbed or caught. If that is the case I am not sure anything will help. I am now researching ortho surgeons to see when the report comes back. Yay what fun.
I spent a lot of time in waiting rooms today so I have only walked 2,000 steps. I am behind and it is raining. If it stops I'll walk in the neighborhood or I'll never make the 6,000 minimum I want.
Diet today is going ok.
Hi Ladies,
I got a job interview for tomorrow. It's only part time but it will help supplement my income.
I lost 2 lbs this week. Today I'm eating good and healthy. Also got a nice walk in today since it warmed up from the weekend. We had some snowflakes yesterday.
Everyone have a good evening.
Love and hugs,
Yvonne
Hi All,
I just got back from a card class...My substitute for snacking is art of all kinds, so card making is one of the things I use in that way. I've been watching you tube videos on using alcohol ink so I ran to get some after the class. My husband just got home from a long vacation so the house is more active again. I missed him.
My weight seems to be down a bit again this week. I think our accountability and support here is really helping me this time. Thank you all!
Julia
