warm not hot, ice not cold, salicylic acid

My friend works for a dermatologists and she has been helping me make facial cleansers for years and her cousin has bees so Amy, my friend, gets bees wax and she makes a ton of various products thatI love using but you can buy the same stuff without having to make it or find someone to make it.

One of the best practices, according to Amy and the doctor she works for, is to make sure that you cleanse and exfoliate and moisturize with products that can do more than one thing.  She says that the cheap blackhead medication at walmart (brand X) that has salicylic acid in it is wonderful to use about three or four times a week. It is a facial cleanser and it causes the pores to empty out all the stuff that makes blackheads....and the salicylic acid is one of those natural products that helps remove fine lines; in fact, it's healthier for your skin that those products with retinol....So, this is what she does and she has me do.  BTW, don't over cleanse your face or you will strip your natural oils and then you can get more wrinkles....yikes.

Okay, I do this every other night but sometimes I skip a night. I wash my face in the shower with a really mild soap...I use hypoallergenic soap made by friend. Then, after getting out of the shower and dried all off, with warm water and a clean wash cloth....not a sponge or anything like that...wipe your face off and then put the salicylic cleanser on your face.   Okay, I put it on my forehead pretty thick, around my mouth and nose pretty thick, and then the rest of my face, I put a very little...just enough to make a light cover....I keep it on my face for about four minutes while I go get a bowl of water with ice in the water to make it very cold...Using warm water, again, I use the washcloth and remove all of the cleanser and really pay attention to my laugh lines and around my nose because you don't want to leave that on your face.....I really rinse it good, first with the washcloth and then with my hands splashing warm water....then, I put my clean washcloth in the ice water and I put it on my face and hold it there for a while...it really feels good.  Sometimes, I rub my face with the ice but my friend said be careful with ice directly on the skin....After I cool my face down, I very gently blot my face with a clean hand towel.  I know this sounds like a lot of work but you are only doing it every other or every two nights. And the fine lines really begin to disappear but more importantly, you bring the blood flow back to the capillaries in a healthy amount so the skin gets hyper oxygenated which is good....

I use a really greasy (coconut or olive oil) on my face but not every night.  In the winter I use more moisturizers than the summer.  I have to tell you that before I started taking care of my skin, I began getting those spots on my face and I was seeing a lot of lines, but now, it isn't like that at all...sure I look my age, but I don't look older...except on those days when I am really really tired.   Tomorrow, I'll tell you guys how to get rid of yellow nails and thick skinned heels....

Black head medication?  Is it in the cleanser section or is it not advertised as a cleanser.  Brand X the true brand or are you just not wanting to state the name?

I am always told I don't look my age and I'd like to keep it that way.  I have used all kinds of moisturizers some quite expensive but I always seem to go back to Oil of Olay.  I have used coconut oil for an all over body moisturizer and I thought is was great but the fragrance triggered my allergies.  I have never just bought coconut oil.  Never knew what to buy.

I'm on my way to the Y then maybe to the grocery store.  I'm feeling lazy this morning so I'll have a little beef jerky for breakfast.  I know that sounds weird.  On my way from Dallas last weekend I stopped at Bucky's and bought some.  It is home (store) made and very good.  There is another place on the way to Dallas that does really good jerky but I can't remember who and where exactly it is.  I used to get their buffalo jerky it was more expensive but awesome.  Now I can't find the place.  I need to boil a few more eggs for a quick grab and go.  tonight or tomorrow I will prep for next week and hopefully have a more balanced sit down meal plan.

What's up with everyone else

Clean and Clear blackhead cleanser but there are a ton of them.  It's in the pimple cleanser area at walmart.  I think any brand will work as long as it has salicylic acid in it....it gently exfoliates and is like those expensive chemical peels....
