Sunday Blessings
Good Morning OFF,
I am barely functioning this morning. I'm working on getting my second cup of coffee. BRB

I'm back.
Well, I was up late, working on Lincoln's bedspread. I'm not at the halfway point, and really need to get serious about finishing it.
I am so disappointed about something I ordered for Frankie's birthday. I had hoped it would be delivered in time for his big day, like by Tuesday, but it won't be. Well, he and I are going to spend the day together tomorrow, and I'll take him out for lunch, and we'll go shopping for a gift.
In the meantime, I have to blitz my living room and kitchen, so we can hang out here a little too. Colleen has a ton of stuff to do tomorrow.
Izzy has a soccer game this afternoon, and it looks like rain. Yuck.
Colleen called me upset last night. She was apologizing because there is no way she can celebrate Mothers Day with me next weekend. It's the end of the semester, she has paperwork to grade for both her classes, portfolios to evaluate for her student teachers, a class she's taking, to finish for her teaching certification in Pennsylvania and Michigan, and resumes to send out, all this week. She was afraid I'd be upset not celebrating ON Mothers Day. I assured her that I don't mind celebrating later, that Mothers Day is just a date on the calendar, AND, Chris and I celebrated it one year in June. I remember what the end of Spring semester was like. I also remember how Mom would purposely try to make me feel bad if I didn't do it exactly the way she wanted me to do it, on that day. Same for Mom's birthday, with is in the first week in September. I never want to hurt my kids that way. She was so relieved.
Kathy, sound like you got a good walk in yesterday. See, you are doing it.
Hugs,
Trish

Trish,
I hope you get your blanket completed soon. I love quilting but the putting the quilt top together can take me forever....and when I hand quilt, I love sitting and just doing the little stitches over and over, sort of like crocheting and needle point.
I have a huge needlepoint dragon that I have been working on for about three years; I should fini**** but I work in it for a few weeks and then put it up because it is so tidious... You'll get your blanket done...sometimes we just need those projects so we can meditate and plan...
I'm like you...celebrate the holiday whenever it is easy for everyone. We will celebrate the week after.
I hope you have a wonderful day...rest.
I have been busy all morning. We are power washing the front porch and sidewalks and I needed to help get it all started. I'm also cleaning off the bed in the spare bedroom since we have a guest coming for an overnight visit on Wednesday. I tutor my adopted grandson from 3-5 every Sunday. He is a second language child and I've been helping him since first grade. Now he's going into fourth grade and the tutoring has finally paid off. He's finally loving reading and not in danger of retention which has been considered before.
It's a beautiful day here today...80 degrees and sunny with no wind. We have very dry heat so you are pretty comfortable until the temperature gets close to 100 degrees.
That's it for me...I'm trying to keep my calories way down today and my protein up.
Julia
Julia,
I tell you it makes a huge difference for multi language learners if they have the tutoring. It is great that you are doing that for the little fellow.
My daughter uses a power washer for the upstairs windows at the house which is really now her house.
I have eaten two pieces of bread today. Normally, I don't even eat bread but yesterday, when we were buying food, I picked up a loaf of rye bread and it is so freaking good...now I know why I don't buy bread. LOL....
Hi Ladies,
I'm still at my brother's. It's cold and dreary out. The weatherman got the weather wrong for the weekend. At least my SIL had some warmer clothes and jacket for me to wear.
I have to take two friends to Dr's appt tomorrow so I will have a lot of running to do.
Just waiting on supper and some good dessert.
Everyone have a good evening.
Love and hugs,
Yvonne
