Happy Tuesday from the Smokies
Hello from the Smokey Mountains:
The Smokies are really smokey today ... it's raining and the forecast was for 100 percent rain. Which is OK because today was when Gary had to go for his sales presentation. I reminded him to just say no.
We had a long day in the car ... ran into a bit of construction coming down that delayed the trip but not really badly. Gary bought me my dinner at this brewpub I like ... had this steak marinated in one of their beers that melted like butter in my mouth. Still have some left. Plus I got free dessert, butterfinger cheesecake. Oh, I ate so much. Took awhile to get it to settle.
When we got in, I took to making my bed (the sleeper sofa) and we discovered there were no sheets. So we had to call down to the desk. And we had problems with the TV. We were supposed to have HBO, but it wouldn't come in. So we had the maintenance guy in a couple of times because the TV had a bad cable. And housekeeping had to bring in sheets ... well, they gave me one flat sheet, no other flat sheet. I had a blanket, but not very warm, so I was cold most of the night. So this morning I asked for another blanket and more coffee (we got one packet of coffee each ... decaf and regular). Housekeeping just came up with the blanket and one packet each of decaf and regular. Gee, don't be so skimpy.
After Gary gets done with his presentation, I think we'll go on the winery trail. I just have to find it. There's also an arts and craft trail that we have done before. I don't need any more things in my house, but I can always use more wine. I bought a four-pack of beer last night from the brewery.
Anyway, that's how I'm spending my vacation. Just relaxing. I'm still in my jammies. Need more coffee. I think I still have another cup in the pot. Have a good day.
Good afternoon Eileen and everyone...
Eileen I wish I was with you!! Just a gorgeous area!! I love Montana too!!!!! People are so nice and the view is dynamite!! My favorite flowers are wildflowers and there is always plenty of them around!!! Nic's, Stephanie lives in Butte, Montana. The cancer camp is in Bosemen.
I would love to go on a trip to a winery. It has been a very long time. I love wine. I don't drink much anymore by my choice. My daughter brought me a bottle on Easter. It is still sitting in the refrigerator. Because I take Vicodin, now 3 times a day, I worry about drinking it. I guess I will discuss it with my doctor on my next visit. What do you think? You are on Vicodin right?? I was thinking of having no more then 3-4 ounces a night.
Good grief they are tight with bedding and coffee and such! If you see one of their carts go grab a handful of coffee packets!! Next time you go there throw a foam mattress in the truck. You can then put it on that uncomfortable hide-a-bed!! Still not the greatest but it will help some! They are pretty cheap too.
How are your knees and back feeling? I hope you aren't in too much pain. I am still praying for you every day.
As fo me... I am not doing much today. This fatigue is awful. I even canceled my grocery trip with Fran today. My pain is much more under control. Now I wish the fatigue would get better. I am so grateful the pain is manageable.
Wishing everyone a really great day!!
Prayers for our sweet OFF Family and their families as well. Special prayers for those in need.
Smile at people today...they may need one!
I will try to check back in later.
Lots of love and oodles of hugs to all....connie d
Well, Eileen, hope you will be right back.
I love, love, the Smokies. I just have to go back to see them. Although I was there a long time ago, they are on my bucket list. Such beautiful mountains. No, I have not been out West to see the Rockies, but I like my mountains with green vegetation. I remember my second ex telling me to close my eyes as we got closer to the Smokies. When we got there I opened my eyes.
These mountains are proof of God's beauty.
Enjoy while you are there and PLEASE take pictures. It must be beautiful there in the Springtime. ENJOY YOUR VACATION!!!
To everyone on off, Have a great day. Not many people posting the last few days. I don't post often because I lead a boring life, lol. But I think of you ladies all the time.
My prayers and love to all.
Arlene, the Rockies have plenty of green ... but in the summer. I lived there for five years. I loved it in Montana. My favorite place of all places. The green there is from firs, quaking aspens, pines and other trees I can't remember. And the wildflowers are glorious. I want to go back sometime.
We saw many trees in bloom on the way down. We usually go in April because it's my birthday week and it's offseason so it's not so crowded.
Good Morning Eileen & Arlene!
Eileen, glad you have gotten away for a break & are enjoying yourself. That is beautiful country... I have visited several times. I have also found ppl from the South tend to be more courteous than here in the Northeast...especially in TN. My brother lived in Chattanooga & our travels there were always pleasant.
I saw the Rockies once & they were beautiful in their own way. Eileen, my youngest daughter lived right outside Yellowstone & absolutely loved all of Montana she was able to see. She said she would have stayed out there except for the family being here in the East. She still talks about the beauty and cleanliness there...
Arlene, my bucket list has the Grand Canyon on it. If I hadn't already believed in God it would have made me a believer!
My life has been boring, too! Get up, look for jobs, do some housework, eat, walk, etc.
Hope all is okay with Jeannie & Kenny...
Gonna scoot.
Kathy
Hello sweet sistas!
I'm early today. It's only 12:37 p.m.! LOL!
But don't let that fool you. I've already had a full morning! I'm up to a full 3 miles a day now. That takes me an hour and five minutes. I'm definitely not as fast as I used to be. But I love, love, love living here in this neighborhood on the golf course. I have never had such a good place to walk before! Sidewalks are a nice alternative to just walking down the street. And the golf cart trails on the golf course are wonderful! If I get out there early enough, I walk those. There aren't any signs posted saying that we can't walk on the golf course, but once the golfers start coming around, I stay off. Luckily I live on the 18th hole, so it takes awhile for them to get to this part.
And whoop! whoop! Guess what I weighed today? 197.8!!! Hooray!
Baby Caralee was up at 2 a.m. and again at 6 a.m. last night. Whew! I tell y'all, I am OLD! But I only have to make 2 more nights and then Carrie will be here. I think I can . . . I think I can . . . There's no way I could be doing this without Mom here. She and I take turns trading off during the day. Mama's back hurts and my right arm and shoulder are practically useless, but between the two of us, we're making it. I sure hope that cortisone shot Friday morning helps my shoulder! I'm swallowing Advil like they are candy--which is bad for me, but I've got to be able to function. I did try taking 3 extra strength Tylenol after my walk, but I can't tell that they are helping at all.
Eileen, your vacation sounds very nice, with the possible exception of the time share. Butch and I had planned a trip to Dollywood, but we never got to take it. I would still like to go one day. We had already scheduled a fall trip to New England to see the leaves and to go see Niagra Falls, and we had to cancel it after he got sick. I would still like to go there, too. Maybe one day I can take my grands there.
Well, little Miss Caralee just woke up, so I have to go. Love you all!
Hi Ladies,
I went to Sams club. I got mad at the gas pump because the pump didn't shut off when it was full so gas went all over. Then Sams didn't have my cuties oranges I wanted. After lunch I exercised since all I've been doing is exercising at stores walking. Otherwise nothing going on.
Eileen enjoy yourvacation. It's beautiful there.
Connie sorry you are feeling so fatigue. I'm glad the pain is better.
Vickie wow at 3 miles, good for you. Congrats on the weight loss You can survive two more days.
Thoughts and prayers for everyone.
Love and hugs,
Yvonne
