Good morning Tuesday

Hello ladies

I am up but not sure I am awake.  I was supposed to walk today but I did not sleep at all last night so I didn't think I could do the 3 mile loop.  If it doesn't get to the 90 degrees it got to yesterday, I will try to walk later.  For now its laundry and cleaning.

That doesn't take much brain power.

I had a great time in Louisiana in spite of the horrible rain.  There was a lot of flooding in some of the surrounding towns but we only had puddles.  Took a lot of classes with a lot of good teachers.  Now to just stay motivated to practice what I learned.  My fingers are painfully sore.  You just can't play every so often and expect your fingers not to be sore.  Practice would help that also.  I will be going to another dulcimer jamboree in late April held each year at Mountain View AR.  That is one of the best.  I had good teachers in Port Allen but Mountain View has top tier teachers.  Highly professional.  National champions and touring musicians.  The evening concerts are superb .  The local talent is remarkable.  Families that sing and play together and students that the folk center goes into the schools to teach.  These kids are taught from 4th or 5th grade any folk instrument they want to learn in a class setting.  After a couple of years they are placed in groups and then they play as a band.  My favorite calls themselves "Possum on the Rails".  The girl that plays fiddle is now a high school student and  a national fiddle winner.  She is awesome as is the young man that plays the mandolin.  Folk culture is alive and well in Mountain View Arkansas.

Judy prayers for a successful surgery and a quick recovery

Vickie  Hope you got to play in the dirt a little.  My landscaper came yesterday and put my front bed in.  Not a lot to it.  I wanted simple and low to no maintenance.  Glad Caralee is CF free.

To everyone else that is suffering from pain and depression you are in my thoughts.

Jeannie,  You are so right about the Houston traffic.  It can take a long time to go nowhere if you have to be on the road during rush hour.  Since I am retired I don't have to deal with it.  I schedule my appointments and errand running to avoid it so it doesn't really affect me.  Hope all goes well with your brother and his move to Arkansas.

Well the laundry isn't going to do itself so I had better go.

Quick check in here.  Found out at the last minute that Mom is coming to town, and I must clean out the spare bedroom, which is a total disaster right now.  Oy ve.

I'll try to check in later, or whenever I can.

Also, please pray that the kids get better.  They have fevers, some sort of virus.  Colleen is concerned about them being contagious, but the fever should break today.  She's stressing out to the max.

Must scoot.

Love,

Trish

Good afternoon, everyone.  It's another rainy day -- HOWEVER, we should be having sunshine the next three days!

Just got back from taking our dog in for a grooming appointment.  He looks so nice.

I didn't sleep very well last night.  Throat doesn't hurt much today but I now have a cough.  Nose is runny too.

I am continuing to pray that Judy's surgery goes well tomorrow.  Also praying for others as well.

I guess I don't have much to say today but thought I'd drop in anyway to say HI.

Have a good day.

Hi Cindy: ever since my food intolerance/sensitivity blood test, am wary of coughs and runny nose...not always precursor of cold, could be food intolerance......;-/

Hi, Jen.  Did you have a consistent cough or runny nose?  I'm curious.  I know you had IBS type symptoms.

I had my blood tested a long time ago -- but the results were sent to me and I did not have a doctor review them with me or anything.  We actually had the tests run when we did it for our dog because he was so sick and we were desperate to figure out why.

Not a consistent runny nose, that I have with seasonal allergies together with itchy eyes because of pollens, especially flowering Birch in Spring. But I have noticed a dry persistent cough, especially past year, especially at night, comes in spasms, thought it was dry throat so keep water bedside...have not been able to attribute to anything specific, but also have  dry eyes, so opthalmologist presumed some of my meds  causing side effects. But seems food intolerances can also cause some of these things...

Hi Ladies,

I'm so tired today. I didn't sleep good last night. I haven't done my exercise yet so I don't think it will get done today.  Trying to get caught up on my reading from the weekend. Plus I got to read a book for Sunday school.

Everyone have a good day. Thoughts and prayers for everyone.

Love and hugs,

Yvonne

Hello sweet sistas!

Well, I played in the dirt, I spent a bunch of money on new plants, and I took my boys for ice cream cones today.  On the whole, it was a pretty good day!  The only down side for me was my trip to the dentist.  It was just for cleaning, but my damn gums would NOT stop bleeding.  I guess it's that von Willebrand's disease.  My mouth is still sore and I can STILL taste blood.  YUCK!

The dentist insisted that I go buy a Water Pik and use it diligently for the next two weeks.  I'm going back for a quick 5 minute check on the 28th to see if the water pik is helping.  My gums are swollen and puffy and bleed at this least little touch.  So there you go.  No dental insurance and bam!

I am SO excited about my landscaping project!  I have drawn out my plans to scale on paper and it looks pretty good.  I'm going to have raised beds all around the perimeter of my little back yard.  There will be a place for vegetables.  And I'll have several small flowering trees placed every 15-20 feet or so around the fence line.  I got my arch up and I'm going to put it at the very end of my yard (which is pie shaped, since I'm on a cul-de-sac).  It's coming together nicely.  Now if the damn landscaper will just show up!  Not sure I trust that critter.

Caralee is finally, finally starting to take regular naps ON HER OWN without one of us holding her.  Praise the Lord!  She's still waking up about twice a night, which is to be expected.  She hasn't done the non-stop screaming thing in a couple of days now.  Shhh!  Don't tell her--she'll start it up again!  LOL!

But I have to tell y'all--and this is in strictest confidence just between us--I'm not sure I'm tough enough to take care of this baby on my own.  I plan to try, of course.  But geez!  All these nights of interrupted sleep are getting to me.  I look down the road and that's all I see for months and months!  If we do what we've planned, I'll have Caralee here at my house on my own for Monday through Thursday.  Carrie will be in Waco on those days, working on her dissertation.  Then she'll come here Friday through Sunday.  But, of course, she and the baby will still be sleeping in my room because I have no guest rooms (Mom is living in my other two bedrooms), so I'll still be waking up constantly.  Can I really do this?  I'm just not sure.  How tough am I?  How tough is Carrie?  It's going to be interesting.

Well, tomorrow is going to be a fun day.  We are taking the boys to a place called Fiesta Farms in San Antonio.  The boys can ride ponies and there's a hay ride and a petting zoo and picnic area.  We haven't been there before, so I hope it's as nice as it looks on-line.  The weather should be just right.

I need to close now.  The new Fixer-Upper is about to come on.  I love that show!  Thoughts and prayers going out to Judy and her surgery in the morning.  I love you, Judy!  I'm a little worried about Connie.  Her posts from yesterday are gone.  Not sure why.  I never did hear any of the test results for Nic.  Did I miss a post about them?  Trish, I hope you are recovering and doing better now.  Sorry the munchkins are sick.  Eileen, I hope you are doing okay.  Sorry about your thumb!  Ouchee!  Jeannie, I swear, I have never been flipped off by anyone except in traffic or in jest!  How on earth you managed to handle that woman without violence is a miracle!  I hope your brother can get moved up to Ark. soon.  Linda, I'm glad you avoided the flooding.  Cindy, good for you for showing up and posting today!  Baby steps!  I'm a bit worried about our Cindi B.  She hasn't posted here or on FB either.  I hope the flooding didn't get her.  Carla, glad you made it home.  Now stay put and rest awhile!  Arlene, I'm glad you got your dentist appointment behind you.  Big relief!  I'm pretty sure I've missed someone.  But you know I love you all!
