Sometimes, When Life Knocks You Down -- It's Hard To Get Up

I haven't posted in a long time.  I've had some real issues with depression and other things.  However, I'm feeling much better now -- thank the good Lord for that. 

 

I have been reading posts but was just not myself and not up to posting.  Judy, I am praying your surgery goes well this week and that you have a speedy and full recovery to good health!  Jeanie, I am swinging chickens and saying prayers for you and your family.  Vickie, I was so happy to hear that Caralee is fine and am saying prayers for you re your unexpected big tax bill and that your lake house will SELL.  Connie, I bet you are having a wonderful time with your grandchildren this weekend.  I am so happy for you that they are with you.  I know I'm forgetting a lot of what I wanted to say -- know that I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers though.

 

We are in for a big wind storm all of today.  I just checked the weather report, and as of 3:00 a.m. the wind speed has been downgraded so I hope that no one suffers property damage.  I am soooooo ready for spring!

Hi Cindy! Welcome back. I had been wondering where you were. Glad that your depression is lessening...I have had bouts off and on all winter. Unfortunately when I am really down and anxious I eat...not good.

Hi, Kathy.  I get depressed every winter, really.  This bout was worse because the doc was adjusting my meds. 

 

It's blowing real hard out there.  Not as bad as the storm a couple of days ago though.  We hunker down and ride the storms out and hope for the best.

I am so happy your depression is getting better. Sometimes when things seem so bad and you just cannot post, just pop in and say, hi...I'm here.  That way we will know that you are still reading but that you are at a place where you need to rest for a bit. 

I am ready for spring too....we have not had a bad winter but spring is just so beautiful and things wake up...the birds come home and the little animals get all active.  but it's the trees and flowers that just make life so much more bearable.  Enjoy the sun and sit out in for a few minutes every day...

Hi, Jeanie.  I bought one of those SAD lights -- but it bothers my eyes.  Hubby uses his.  We have so many overcast days that a lot of folks here use SAD to compensate for lack of sunshine.

 

You are right that I should log on to OFF just to say HI, if nothing else.  I just couldn't seem to do anything that wasn't absolutely required -- if you know what I mean.  I hate it when apathy and depression totally take over.  Some of this winter's bout was due to having a change in meds.  Won't be doing that again.  My doc said he was going to write in my chart that I should never be taken off that particular medication.  Ha Ha.

Aww Cindy...HUGSSSSSSSSSSS I didn't know you were suffering depression!!!! It sucks!!!!!!!!! I have been there also at times...being quiet just reading here...I speak up at times...sighs.

Thank you, Judy.  I am praying for you -- that your upcoming surgery goes smoothly and you have a full and speedy recovery. 

 

I read posts every day.  I don't always post -- and sometimes, like recently, it seems impossible to do so.  I can totally relate.

Cindy: glad you are posting. Hear you on the not posting as guilty myself. I call out people I think are trolls, posting here very  irregularly over more than ten years and have had no surgery, but you are not one of them!

Thank you Jen, for responding to my post.

 

I read yours yesterday (?) about all the foods you are sensitive to.  Wow.  I can understand why it was shocking.  I hope that you start to feel soooo much better by eliminating those foods.   I know it's going to be hard in the beginning -- to adjust to a new way of eating.  I was wondering if seeing a dietician to come up with an eating plan and recipe suggestions could be of any help.  I know it's not the same thing -- but our dog has a lot of food issues and serious conditions that are exacerbated by eating his trigger foods and it has gotten to be expensive and almost a full time job to get it figured out.  Our vet has been able to provide both support and ideas which have been invaluable.  I'd like to think that the same support will be made available to you.

Yes, if it gets too complicated to figure out what can eat and can't, will consult a dietitian for weekly food diet. The blood test Report tested 222 foods and found me sensitive or intolerant to 84 of them ...the Spinach, grapes and Peaches still has me most surprised. GF intolerances too as thought I was a mild Celiac.

Can I see your dog's vet or  dietitian? Need someone really understanding.
