Monday Morning Soon
Well, it's not quite midnight, but I'm posting for Monday, coz my Sunday did not go as I had planned at all.
First, I ended up not going to Lansing to pick up Izzy's Bible. I can go tomorrow. Colleen called me when they got home from church, to invite me over for lunch. I visited with the kids, and enjoyed some of her delicious vegetable soup.
Then, I drove out to Flint, and before I could get to the door to the campaign office I tripped and did a face plant on the sidewalk. I banged my right knee, busted a lip, cut below my nose, busted my glasses, and slammed my forehead. A woman in the H&R Block office I was in front of came out to help me, and a young man who had just left the campaign office helped me. After I stood up, I went into the campaign office to clean up, and assess the damage in the bathroom. A sweet young woman helped me tape my glasses, and got me the address of a nearby Urgent Care. I found it in a hospital where they X-rayed my knee, and decided to send me over to the ER for a CT scan, to make sure I didn't have a brain bleed, coz of the Coumadin. Everything checked out with both. I left the campaign office around 4:00, and didn't get home till after 9:00.
First thing in the morning, I need to call to get an eye exam, and see if I can get in today. I was planning to get the exam next week, coz I needed new glasses anyway, but now it's an immediate need.
I will give a shout out to the folks at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. They were wonderful.
Must get some sleep.

My gosh Trish! What a day you had! I hope you aren't hurting more in the morning.
Today I went to Michaels and then to see "Son of Saul". It's the movie that won best foreign picture. It was good but dark...of course any movie about the Holocaust would be dark.
Tomorrow I need to hit Target and start my taxes. If there is time I need to go to the DMV to get my handicap placard. I'm going to San Francisco to my oncologist in two weeks so the placard makes that visit easier.
I know that Jeannie and family are visiting the Clinton Presidential Museum today. I visited a few years ago and found it fascinating. I saw the bridge she spoke of too. Arkansas was a fun place to spend a week. Linda was there with me too.
I'll check in after I wake up tomorrow. My husband is bringing me oatmeal from Jamba Juice...I love that stuff!
Good Morning,
To be honest, everything hurts like never before. My knee is huge, fingers on my hand ache. My back, lip, head, shoulders, well everything. I slept like a log, except for two potty calls. It's too early to call for the eye exam.
I was able to super glue my glasses, because the old pair I found was the pair I scratched four years ago when I did my first face plant, and broke my nose.
Enjoy your oatmeal.
Hugs

Oh Trish! Oh you poor darling! I am so sorry. Was the sidewalk icy? Sometimes we just trip and don't know why. Either way it's no damn good, is it?
I will pray that everything heals quickly. And hey, New glasses! Sometimes I wish my glasses would break so I could get a new pair. Bright side to everything, right?
Love you sweetie!
Vickie, I have an appointment for an eye exam later this morning. I was hoping to spend today doing other things, but like yesterday, sometimes things don't go as planned.
Better get moving.
Hugs,
Trish

Good afternoon Trish and everyone.....
Trish...do you have balance issues?? You fall a lot. Might be time to get that checked out or at least walk with a cane. One of these days it could really be serious....like a broken hip. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery. I am just concerned. I always said I should send you bubble wrap...maybe a good idea after all!!!
As for me.... I am okay. I am going outside for a walk soon. I went to yesterday and enjoyed the weather. It is just as nice today. It will be in the low 60s later. The sun is shining and there isn't much wind. A perfect day to be outside.
I am having Nic and Stephanie and Amanda and Tyler here this weekend. Kyleigh and Mitch aren't sure they can make it. Everyone will be here Saturday early afternoon. I plan on making enchiladas for dinner, with a salad and garlic cheesy bread. I am not sure what I am making for dessert. I can make the enchiladas Saturday AM and just pop it in the oven when they are on the way here. I am making some beef and also some chicken. I prefer the chicken!!
That is it for me. Trying to stay positive.
Prayers for our blessed OFF Family and their families. Special prayers when needed.
Much love and many prayers for all...connie d
Connie, given that my sinuses are acting up, and I usually get fluid in one of my ears with them, I very well could have a balance issue. I do have a cane, which I failed to take with me yesterday. I just tripped, and landed on my right knee and my face.
I just got home from my eye exam, and ordering new glasses. I can pick them up later this afternoon. The eye doc staff was wonderful. The eye doc and glass place were in the same place. I got a great deal on the glasses. And, because the eye doc found cataracts, my Medicare is picking up the majority of the bill. I was able to get a pair of progressive regular lenses, and a pair of progressive sunglasses for just over $100. God is so good to me today.
On the way home, I picked up a fish and chips lunch and a diet root beer at A&W. I had cottage cheese for breakfast. I am focusing on protein to rebuild the damage I did yesterday. Protein helps build and repair cells.
I did use my cane while I was out. I am not leaving it home again.
Love you Sweetie.
