Wednesday!
Hi Carla and my OFF family:
It's raining a lot here. It's gloomy and that has added to my mood. I was not in the mood to get up and go so I slept until 10:30 a.m. At least I'm doing laundry. I went shopping yesterday and forget to get laundry detergent, but still had a couple of the detergent pods so I'm good. But I will have to get some for next week.
Gary and I went out to dinner last night; I had a gift card for Longhorn and we had a nice dinner. I had a flatiron steak that was just the right size for me. Gary had two porkchops.
Carla, good luck with the scope. Hope it turns out well.
Vickie, you are having so much fun with Carrie and Caralee. I can tell from your posts that this has been a good time for you.
Connie, I'm glad you're getting some pain relief. I'll bet the weather is affecting your pain today.
Don't remember who else posted. I don't have a lot planned today, just laundry and call my mom. Gary says she is completely deaf in one ear. Should be an interesting conversation. Oh, and I need to go get my prescription sunglasses. Maybe stop off at Sam's for a few things.
Have a good day.
Hello Eileen....sorry I haven't answered your posts lately. I am just so fatigue in the evenings. I just don't get back on OFF to reply. I wasn't ignoring you!
YOU ARE SPOT ON....pain today is gradually getting worse as the day goes by. I can't take my second Vicodin until 8:00 PM. I really need to look over my medication times. I need to tweek it a bit! I was sleeping later but not anymore. I get up too early! I hold off for as long as I can in the AM. I think I can get it leveled out soon. I am sure you are in a great deal of pain too.
It was so beautiful this morning now it has been gloomy all afternoon. I don't blame you for not wanting to get out of bed. If I could have fallen back to sleep I would have. With me once I open my eyes I can't sleep again. I hope the sun is shining for you tomorrow. Then you will feel better. Gloomy days make me feel more down too.
It sounds like you have a lot of stops to make today!
Have a good evening....love and hugs to you...connie d
I went out and it was miserable. Windy, rain and snow mix. I went to Sam's to get some stuff and then had to go to another store. I was out of dryer sheets and Sam's didn't have the free and clear variety. I got my detergent pods, though, plus a tub of almonds and a big thing of dried cranberries. Then I went to the other grocery store and got my dryer sheets, color-safe bleach and of course I wound up buying something else (a couple bottles of wine that I like and it was on sale). Plus I picked up stamps.
By the time I got home, it was really lousy and I got home and started up the laudry again. I was in my room changing into my sweats when I heard the front door open. My brother was already home from work. It was early.
I did talk to mom but it was a short talk. She couldn't hear much and had to hold the phone out of the one hand that's uncomfortable for her to use. My brother Ed needs to take her to a doctor to get her ears cleaned out. She says he's busy ... he's retired! I think she probably didn't ask him.
Well, I wasn't in too much pain until I got outside and went to walk around Sam's. Then my knee started to hurt. Oh well ... now my legs are up. Have a good day.
Hello again Eileen.....you sure had a lot of places to go. I am glad you finally found the things you needed. Sorry the shopping caused you so much more pain. Why don't yo use an electric cart in places as large as Sam's? I pretty much have to use them all the time. Every now and then I will start to push a regular cart. It doesn't take long to remind myself why I can't. Take it easy on your self sometimes when you are in pain.
I hope Gary or you will be able to get ahold of Ed. Your mom needs to get her ears cleaned and checked out. Life is hard enough when we age without not hearing. She would be so much happier.
Have a good rest of the night...keep warm...love and hugs.....connie d
Hi everyone,
I tried to post before but it didn't post. I had written a few paragraphs and then poof.
Popping in to say hi and send my love.
Here goes the CRS again. Ugh.
Carla, hope the scope goes well.
Pat, ugh. Snow and a foot of it. Yikes, I hate driving in that stuff. I have lived in FL since the seventies. When I moved back to CT for 5 years back in 1998, the first time it snowed, I hyperventilated when driving in it. Did get used to it after a while. My worst almost disaster driving in that stuff? I DID NOT have all weather tires and slid into a mailbox. LOL
Connie, glad that your pain is down a bit. The frigid weather there cannot be helping your pain. Glad the kids are getting a new dog/puppy. They will make fine pet owners.
Julia, dental work sucks. Worse than that, in this country we have choices on how to pay for it. Sometimes insurance covers some. Most of the time it is out of pocket. No money, no dental work. I find that to be sad. I need dental work, poor teeth due to heredity and will have to get upper dentures. I dread it. It is what it is. I have a phobia about dentists, but tried to take care of my teeth and heredity has a lot to do with it.
Vicki, sorry about the weather. We spoiled folks living in the warm states are not used to foul weather. This winter here in PSL has been rainy now and then, but not too cold. We had freezing temps about twice this year. Love your plates on FB, glad you purchased some you liked. Tell the landscape guy to fly a kite and get someone you can rely on. I can understand Carrie getting cabin fever. Boy do I remember those days when my daughter was an infant. I love the fact you are getting Caralee an Easter Basket also.
Anyone else, Hello, an to all of you I am sending my love.
I did go to breast doctor yesterday. He palpated both breasts. Told me there was a small nodule on ONE of the ultrasound pictures but not on the others. So they don't know if it even exists. I go back in six months.
WONDERFUL NEWS. My beloved former sil Carla woke up today. She is up. I was jumping up and down with pure joy. I prayed so hard as did so many others. I just pray she does not have any long term effects from the bacterial meningitis. I love her and that family dearly. They are so special. She looked at her first plate of hospital food and said NO WAY. So hopefully she can get something good to eat or someone can sneak something good in. When I went to visit yesterday, we had to be outfitted with gloves, masks, and gowns because of the contagion.
I go to dentist tomorrow to see how much $$ it is going to coast for work. I just hate being low income. Ugh. I worked so hard all my life. I sometimes wonder maybe I should have stayed married. It would have been so much easier financially.
Sending my love to all of you.
Take care,
Arlene
Hello Arlene.....wonderful news about your former SIL!!! I will continue to pray for he. I hope she has a complete recovery!! I can see why you are so excited!! God was listening and answered your prayers. AMEN.
This seems to be dentist month on here lately. I had mine on the 4th. No work needed...YAY!! I hope you have a good report too!!
Have good night.....love and hugs to you....connie d
Hi Ladies,
It's been snowing since I got up so I ran to the store to pick up a few things. My friend went with me, she got a few things too. Bible study is cancelled for tonight so I'm just sitting here watching tv. I did do my exercise this afternoon.
The hamburger pie was okay not my favorite. I think it needs doctoring up some.
Everyone have a good day. Thoughts and prayers for everyone.
Love and hugs,
Yvonne
Hello Yvonne....how much snow are you suppose to get today??? Good idea to stay in and keep warm.
It is great that you continue to get your exercise in. Good for you!!! Keep up the good work!! I am praying that by summer I will be able to get out and walk at least with my cane.
What didn't you like about the Hamburger Pie? Isn't a lot like Shepard's Pie???
Have a great evening....love and hugs to you....connie d
