Saturday It is!!!!!
Hey Carla and Ladies,
Speaking of grandkids, we drove down the mountain and picked up our granddaughter. The boys are doing some trout fishing with my brother in law and their other grandfather, so my granddaughter came up with us. We had to take the key to the cabin down so their other grandfather could get in the cabin...we all share everything. The cabin is up on the white river and it was my sisters and then she wanted to get out from under the taxes, so we bought it but it is huge and sleeps so many people. It has two stories with the two bedrooms upstairs being bunk rooms with six bunks in each room...our family are avid hunters and fishermen and when my sister and her husband built it, they made the thing to accommodate all of the men folk. LOL....there are two bedrooms down stairs that are traditional bedrooms. The kitchen is like a military kitchen and when I go up there, I usually cook for an army. But this trip, there will be about four of our family members and the boys each are bringing friends so they will have fun fly fishing or whatever they do...by Sunday night, I should have some good fresh fish to carry us through the end of our fish eating days. LOL.
So DH just left with Baby Girl...they are going to walmart to buy a few groceries and get some art supplies for her. Then, and I swear I was shocked over this one, DH is taking her to the mall to get some girl things...that's what she describes the things she buys at the lotion store. I think she said something about going to get a new purse too...she is like me about purses and shoes....I really wanted to go but my dang foot is just not good for too much walking and I won't sit in the car so I just gave them a list and they took off.
Vic, I know how horrible it is to know that your granddaughter and your youngest grandson will grow up with no memories of their grandfather. When my children were babies, I would go through spells of crying and being so damn sad knowing they would never know my mother. Plus, a girl needs her mother to teach her how to be a good mother and I didn't have her so I was winging it....but I think I did a good job. The best advice I can give you is to write stories for them. I did that for my kids and I started when I was pregnant and it started in notebooks with Dear Mama...and I would write and tell her about the kids and then as the kids got older, I began writing stories about mom. I eventually typed them and then much later I put them on my very first computer and printed them...later, when I had a much better computer, I formatted the covers and added pictures of mom in some of the chapters and pictures of the kids and then took it to one of the business stores and had them print up copies for my kids. My cousin and I are doing one about our grandparents. We've had all of our cousins and our only living aunt record or write stories about them and we've started organizing them into a book...we are including information my husband got off of ancestry.com and we are putting some news paper articles in there too...it's turned into a huge project. We are having our family reunion in 2017 so we will have those books for sale. We are only asking for the money we will pay for the printing.
I am sitting here enjoying the quiet...my granddaughter can sure talk a lot...until she gets back, I am going to meditate.
Ladies, I hope you all have a good day...Carla, enjoy your granddaughter; Connie, I hope you get to feeling better; Judy, I hate firing people--even when they are lousy workers but it must be done; Trish, I hope your foot continues to improve. I also had an abundance of milk but I remember how frustrating it was not really knowing if I was doing it right...but the babies gained weight and then after a few weeks, it became second nature. Arlene, I hate biopsies...make sure they put you to sleep. I hated the one they did on me. I also have a lymph gland that they keep watching but I have my breasts scanned every six months and the mammogram every year. Honestly, my boobs have given me nothing but trouble...when I was a young girl, well, you guys know how horrible it was for us gals back in the day...and now they are a source of constant deconstruction from my doctor to the techs who do the scanning...seriously.
Well, let me get off here and get to meditating before chatty cathy gets back.

Hello Jeannie....your cabin sounds wonderful!!! What a great place to share!! There is nothing like catching and eating fresh fish!!!
It is so sweet of your husband to shop with your granddaughter even for girl things like lotions, shoes, purses!!!!
I hope you had plenty of time to relax and meditate. You are always so busy.
Sorry about all the breast issues. I hope you can get some relief from all that soon. I just had my mammogram and got my results in the mail today. Everything is just how it should be. For that I am thankful!
Have a good rest of the day....love and hugs to you....connie d
Hello everyone.....
I am doing okay. The extra Vicodin is starting to help some already. It will take sometime for my body to get to good level.
I am using Voltaren Gel on my hands and the tops of my feel. It takes the edge off. Like the Vicodin I need to build up a good level.
I had so much fun with Carrie yesterday!! Heather (Carrie's best friend) is picking up her mom. She lives north of me. Then they, with Carrie will be coming to pick me up. The plan is to spend a day and night at a motel. We will just be swimming and lounging and playing games and watching movies etc.. They insist on this!! They think I need a girls night!!! They are hoping to do it sometime around Mother's Day or so. WOOOOHOOOOO!!!
As I wrote in my reply to Arlene, Jamie and family are going to look at a new puppy. A yellow lab. I love the process at the rescue place. Check all about it in my reply to Arlene.
I am slowing down so I need to go for now. I will try to check in again later.
Prayers for our wonderful OFF Family and their families. Special prayers for those in need.
Much love and many hugs to all....connie d
