Checking In.....

Darn..........I'm using a library computer and my "reservation" timed out, so even though I "copied" a long post, it's gone now.

So short and sweet-

First, thanks for all your kind words and support.  I know things will work out and I'll actually be better off than I was once everything is taken care or, it is a lot of stress right now.   Not having internet access is a pain in the arse!

I looked at another mobile home -nice and affordable - but probably too small.  Will be going to dealers who sell both mobile and modular homes, and also will check out having small home built.  I'd like to have a two bedroom, two bath place.  If I build a home, much more expensive because I'd have to have a foundation done - with a mobile home, just a slab.

Between getting the balance of the property balance after my mortgage is paid off, and getting funds for my personal property, I may have enough to get a small house.  Especially since interest rates are so low.  I was previously paying 11% - and now I'd probably be paying around 5-6% and that makes a big difference.

I'm going to send my number, etc. to Holly because she asked me to PM her, which I'll do - but my internet time is limited.  Please swing some chickens for me!!

Probably won't get back online until Thursday afternoon.  In the meantime, I'll be checking out dealers and builders.  I'll be checking in again later this week.

Mary

Good to hear from you, Mary. Been worried about you. Are you going to stay in the same town you're at now? Do you have a laptop or tablet you could use someplace that has free WiFi so you wouldn't have to go to the library? If you don't, I may have a solution for you. Call me or PM me.

I woke up with a headache again this morning. I had it all day yesterday. Fortunately, the work schedule wasn't too rough (other than being the day of death with a lot of obits). Headache seems to be gone now. I have a chiro appointment this afternoon, and I really need it. Then I'm going to pick up my new glasses. Not much else going on. I'm off but I don't have anything else planned. Probably laundry when I get home later today.

Take care, OFF family.

My dear,

You work so hard. So very hard, and in a stressful field at a very stressful time for newspapers.

Take care,

Many regards.

Yes, it's very stressful. I'm used to the stress of deadlines, but it keeps getting more stressful, and not knowing what will happen with the new company taking over makes it even worse. Life is going to be tough. I have a shrink I see to help me with these problems and you guys to come to. I couldn't make it without y'all.

Eileen,

Stress is a horrible condition to have to work under but I do understand the need to work and pay the bills.

Let's hope that if the new company lays anyone off, they provide them with a good package.

Hello Mary and Eileen and all my sistas!

Oh, Mary, we are all so glad to hear from you!  I can't imagine what all you must be dealing with, but it does sound as if you are dealing well!  Proud of you!  So thankful you had insurance and that it is paying out for you.  I know you won't get this until next Thursday, but we have all been talking about setting up a GoFundMe account for you.  Just let us know if you want that, okay?

Eileen, you work so hard!  I really admire you.  The news industry is going to lose a good one when you finally retire!

I am doing pretty good taking care of my girls today.  Carrie is resting and recovering from her surgery.  She's spent most of the day in her bed, but she active.  She's watching TV and writing in Caralee's baby book and nursing the baby.  We're talking about taking Caralee out for a brief little walk this evening.  It's warm and sunny here and I think it would do Carrie good to walk just a bit.

Caralee is amazing and wonderful and doing so well!!!  I just cannot quit smiling at her.  She's the tiniest little thing!  I know Carrie was just as small, but you do forget.

Poor Carrie is having a time with the breast feeding though.  Her right nipple is so raw and sore and it actually BLED this morning.  Her milk hasn't come in yet, and I told her to just stop even trying to nurse the baby on that side today.  She can hand express some of the colustrum, but she needs to heal before her milk comes in in a couple of days.  We have had to supplement with a little bit of formula the last two nights, but Carrie is really wanting to try and breast feed, and I understand that.  I did tell her, though, that there are hundreds of things that you will do for your child over the next year, but if you can't breast feed, don't beat yourself up about it.  Hundreds of thousands of babies have been bottle fed and have grown up just fine.  So we'll see how it goes this week.  Apparently having a C-section can slow the milk production down by a day or more, so her milk might not even come in tomorrow.  More time for her nipple to heal.

Sorry, I know that is TMI.

So I have been busy all day.  I did the laundry, fed Carrie breakfast and lunch, went to the store, etc.  Carrie asked for baked potatoes with broccoli and cheese sauce tonight.  And the store had a special on crab cakes, so we're having one of those with our taters.

I need to close.  It's time to hold the baby!  LOL!  Love you all!

I have a smile from ear to ear reading your post, Vicki. What a great mom and Mimi you are!

We all want to do the best for our babies, but if Caralee is supplemented with formula, I don't think she will mind. When they are infants, they are eating, sleeping and pooping often. As long has her tiny belly is full, she will be happy. But I understand Carrie's point of view.

So happy for you guys, so very happy.

Hey Vic,

Tell Carrie that the first few days are the most difficult and once the milk comes in, it will be a process for her to learn how to pump out the milk and freeze it to avoid getting engorged. She will work it out. There's some really good products to use for the sore nipples. If you can find a lactation board, go ask and those women will give you all the information about cracked nipples.

You are right; it's not the end of the world if she doesn't breast feed but she might regret if she doesn't give it a good shot.

I agree taking the any out is good.  Babies, especially CSection babies need help getting rid of all the mother's RBCs which can cause the baby to get a little jaundiced.  Taking the baby out in the sunshine a few minutes a day or sitting with her by the window will help.

Well, I need to go jump in the shower...I am itching like crazy. Apparently, the damn maples are blooming and they make me itch....A hot shower helps.

Mary,

I am so happy the insurance seems to be working quickly. I hope you can get into a small house or trailer...it is hard to not have your own place.

I am so happy neither you nor your dog were hurt that night.
