Sunday Blessings
I'm back.
First of all, Congratulations to Vickie. Caralee made her appearance yesterday. Carrie looked absolutely gorgeous in the picture where she is holding her. I always looked like Hell after a delivery.
I am barely here. So, I left the doctor's office on Friday morning, without my foot being wrapped in gauze, nor an ace bandage, for the first time since November 18. Since then, my foot has been freaking out. It is the weirdest feeling in the world. I know the doc tweaked some tendons and ligaments, but my poor foot looks pitiful. Altogether, he made six incisions in November, and one two weeks ago.
I hope to head over to Colleen's to drop off the kids' Valentines. I have a book for each of them. Also, I have a Michigan State hair tie for Izzy, a Spiderman pin for Lincoln, and a small Spiderman figurine for Franklin. This was all stuff I planned to give them for Christmas, but Colleen didn't want me to overdo it then.
I better get moving. I need to shower, and get some chores done.
Hugs,
Trish

Good afternoon Trish and everyone.........
I am so happy for Carrie!! A new mommy and Caralee is just so sweet and beautiful!! I know Vickie is on cloud nine over her little granddaughter!! I can't blame her!!!
I am so glad your foot is all healed and you can walk and drive. It doesn't matter if it has scars. They will fade.
I hope you have a good rest of the day.
It must have been nice spending time with the children. I am sure they were very happy with their Valentine's and gifts.
Love and hugs to you....connie d
Good afternoon everyone...
I am not doing much of anything today. It has been snowing here for awhile. We are only suppose to get 3 inches or so. The high temp today is 18 and feels like 5. That is better then the last few days.
I have a turkey breast cooking in the crock pot for dinner tonight. It smells so good. I am going to cook up some parsnips and rutabaga for my veggies. I finished off my asparagus for lunch with the rest of my salmon.
One of my friends gave me valentine flowers yesterday. A neighbor dropped by with a cute cupcake and a crossword puzzle book this afternoon. I heard from all of my grandchildren in various ways. That made me so happy!! Jamie and Carrie called too!! I love my family!!
My throat is sore but I have to stay up to watch The Walking Dead tonight!! I am so excited!!
Have a great rest of the day...Happy Valentine's Day to all!!!
Lots of love and hugs to all of you....connie d
Trish and Ladies,
I know your foot must feel absolutely free. Having casts, wraps, braces, etc. on any appendage but particularly the foot sucks big times. Enjoy the freedom.
Congratulations Vic and welcome baby Caralee. I know Carrie and Vic are over the moon right now.
I am sitting in the living room enjoying a cup of coffee and the quiet that comes when the cats sleep and the husband sleeps....yeah!
Happy Valentine Day to all of you ladies and I hope you all have a pleasant day. My husband is the romantic one of our relationship. He remembers our anniversary and all those other special days and he loves Valentine's Day. He usually begins early by brining me small gifts. He used to send me flowers at work and I finally told him that the flowers at work are a huge distraction and I think it is sweet but really, totally not necessary...so he stopped.
So far, this year, we have gone out to eat twice, he brought me a fruit and veggie tray (no candy for me), and he bought me a necklace that has two entwined hearts...it is very pretty. I know he has another gift in his sock drawer so I suspect it is a piece of jewelry and as soon as he is up and around, he will sneak it in and give it to me. I forgot about buying him something until late last night, so when he went to bed, I ran to walmart and got him some new socks, t-shirts, and new pen...he is a freak about pens. Go figure.
Well, that sums up my day so far. I hope you guys have a good V day...Vic, if you could post a picture on here, it would be lovely to see that baby Caralee....did you cut the cord?
Good Morning Everyone & Happy Valentine's Day!
Trish, I am sure you will be relieved when your foot is fully recovered! What a ride it has been getting trying to recover...especially over the holidays. I hope you will be back to playing kickball soon...ha-ha!
Jeannie, your husband sounds like Jim, but THIS year he forgot to get me anything. But like I told him in my card to him I am so lucky to have a man who spoils me daily even if there are times I'd like to strangle him! He is happy with simple gifts, too, he is like a kid when I get him a gift certificate to our local tool warehouse! He'll buy a ton of batteries and be a happy camper...lol!
Vickie, Caralee is absolutely gorgeous! I bet Carrie and you are in 7th heaven! As you know little girls are so much fun to dress up...you will go crazy shopping! Enjoy...enjoy!
On a more somber note I did want to ask you if anything besides time has helped you with the heartbreak over Butch? My sister in law is in a bad way and we really don't know how to help her. She is now having pain on her shoulder like my brother had the night he died so she is going to the ER alot. But they keep telling her she is having a panic attack and referring her for counseling. She hasn't gone, is using zanax alot plus drinking to cope. She moved in with her son as she is selling their house...couldn't bear to stay there since he died in their bedroom.
My sister, her kids, her mom and brother and I just can't seem to help her. It is really weighing on our minds. Don't know what to do for her...
Would also like to hear from Mary. My parents house burnt down in 79 do I know there is a ton involved on getting things sorted out, but would like to know she's okay...
Well gonna hop off and get on with the day!
My best to all!
Kathy
Kathy,
I'm concerned for your sister-in-law if she is drinking while taking Xanax. That is so dangerous. I will pray for her.
When my brother, Jack, died, I was with my sister-in-law at the hospital. I called a friend at church, and within 30 minutes we had two pastors, their wives, and three friends all at the ER to help us through the initial shock. Our church, and family, helped her through the initial shock. Her faith is rock solid, and we believe that Jack is in heaven because of his faith. She was also motivated to keep it together because their son, Neil, is a special needs adult, with learning issues plus mental illness.
Her kids may need to help her transition, but they're also grieving. It's a tough situation.
My first concern is the mixing of Xanax and alcohol. That could be fatal in itself. I was on Xanax before I got sober, and had to give up both the pills and alcohol. Plus, Xanax is addictive all by itself. Huge risks with both.
Hugs,
Trish
