Thursday Morning
I'm back.
Connie, sorry I didn't check in yesterday. I was on in the morning, but didn't post a thread for some reason, and never got back on the puter. I hope you feel better soon.
Vickie, I hope Caralee arrives before Carrie has to be induced. I was never induced, and neither was Colleen. I hear it's harder labor. I could be wrong.
Jeannie, your stew recipe looks yummy. I add at least one can of beans to my beef stew for added fiber and veggie protein.
I wanted to share something about my meatloaf recipe. I use a combination of beef and pork, but instead of using bread crumbs, I use dry oatmeal. It is the way my Mom made it, and it adds fiber, and makes the texture just as good as bread crumbs.
I have been blessed with lots of food from my church, but I am craving something I cook. Not sure what yet, but I also am craving junky fast food. Go figure. On one hand I want something healthy, that I cook. The other hand, I want crap. I think I have cabin fever.
I mailed my Valentines I made for the people receiving meals on wheels here. I only made 11. I will try to post them here.
Well, I better scoot. Be back later to see if Caralee arrives today.
Hugs,
Trish

Good morning Trish and everyone....
Trish...your valentines look great! I am sure everyone will love them.
Our temps climbed up a bit today. Yesterday at this time it was 1 with a windchill of -8. Today it is 9 with a windchill of 3. They already lowered the temps for Friday and Saturday. They forecasted 20s and 30s now they are saying high of 7 Friday and 10 on Sunday. Supposedly next week is in the 30s. I have a feeling that will change too. DAMN cold weather!!! It is so damp it freezes me right to the bones. I have to go out again today. I see my therapist at 1:00.
Gracie finally got Stormy yesterday. She was suppose to get it Tuesday but because bad weather they couldn't get it to her until yesterday. She text me Tuesday worrying where Stormy was! I am relieved he got there and wasn't lost somewhere! She would have been crushed and me too!! She said she was going to love him and cuddle him all night!!
Nothing much else for me. I will get back this evening if I can.
Prayers for our awesome OFF Family and their families. Special prayers for Vickie, Carrie, Caralee and also Mary,Judy,Trish and some others too.
Have a great day....lots of love and many hugs too...connie d
Good morning Trish and sistas,
Oh, Trish, your Valentines are so pretty! I have never been good at paper crafts. Making bulletin boards when I was teaching was always agony for me! But I admire you tremendously for having the patience to cut out all those little hearts! Great job!
Well, Carrie is still sleeping. She has been sleeping most of yesterday, last night, and so far this morning. I have to think her body is getting ready to give birth.
So, you know, I had induced labor with Carrie. Butch was working offshore and he had to leave on Thursday, May 13th. On that Monday, May 10th, I was nearly in tears at the doctor's office, thinking about having to give birth to my first child without my husband. My due date was Saturday, May 15th. So my doctor said, well, let's just induce have the baby tomorrow. So that's what we did. Carrie was born on Tuesday, May 11th.
I was in labor about 6 hours. The first 4 hours weren't so bad. The last two were very intense. And I did it all natural. I've told Carrie all of this. In the end, it's her decision. Personally, I would wait to let Caralee come when she's ready. And for all we know, that will happen sometime this week. But having a final due date seems to have given Carrie permission to relax. She's been happy and sleeping ever since! It will be all right whichever way it happens.
Today the crib is being delivered! Wish me luck on putting it together! LOL!
Jeannie, I liked the sound of your veggie stew, but I've never eaten fennel. I tend to use veggies I'm familiar with--at least thus far. I might make a veggie stew made with potatoes and carrots and traditional veggies today. I haven't thought about making that. I think I will post one of my favorite quinoa recipes on a separate post. I made it earlier this week and Carrie loved it. She didn't know she like quinoa. And I've been seeing a Tex Mex quinoa recipe with black beans and corn on FB that looks good. Might try that one, too.
I wish I could send you all this weather! Oh, it's warm and sunny and non-humid and perfectly LOVELY here today! High of 80 F this afternoon. In Texas, we have our spring early. Then it gets hot and stays hot. But today is perfect weather. I'll be in tees and capris and flip flops for the rest of this week!
Hey, they showed my lake house THREE times yesterday. Please pray and swing chickens that I get an offer soon! It has been two weeks since it went on the market, and it's been shown about 15 times. People love the front deck and the view, but for various reasons, the inside hasn't suited anyone yet. Please, dear Lord, send me a buyer! I'm ready and willing to negotiate on the price!
Well, I'd better go. My laptop battery doesn't last long. I'm hoping to hear from our Mary today. Love you all!
Hi Trish and Vickie and my OFF family:
Sorry I've been MIA ... been reading everything but yesterday it was late at night. Got up with a headache yesterday and got it under control. Gary and I decided to go to the cheap theater to see "Joy" ... good movie, BTW. I had Pik, asked for a small, which turned out to be much larger than I wanted. Well, midway through the movie, I had to limp fast out to the bathroom with an IBS attack. And although that was the last of it, I didn't feel very good for the rest of the day.
After the show, I went out to get my hair cut. Wasn't going to get it colored too, but they had a special and she had time to do it, so I did. It looks very nice. Picked up my script for the lamisil pills for my fungal infection (fortunately, generic so only $6.57) and started taking them last night. Also, fortunately, no bad side effects yet. I hope this works because I have another area on the side of a nail that is swollen and bloodly. Not as bad as the first one that hasn't healed, but still not good.
I am up to go to the Y today. It's chilly but nothing that would stop me from going. The only thing that will stop me is if my tummy acts up again. So far, so good. Because one of the side effects of the med is diarrhea. Oh joy.
Vickie, we are all waiting eagerly for Ms. Caralee's arrival. I know nothing of induced labor and its effects. I hope she does what's best for her.
Trish, your valentines are very nice. I just go to the store. Good for you for making your own.
I hope Connie is doing OK and Mary is doing OK. I worry about both of them. Vickie, have you set up the GoFundMe site yet (although I have no money this paycheck, maybe next)?
Have a good day, everyone. Hugs for all.
Eileen,
I am waiting to hear from Mary before I finish setting up the GoFundMe. I need her permission, of course. And I need a little more information from her. But as soon as she gives me the go ahead, I'll finish setting it up.
Sorry about your fungal infection. Lord, girl, if it's not one thing, it's another. I'll bet your hair looks real nice. I'm still trying to find a salon in my area that I like. I've tried 4 different places now, and just haven't "clicked" with any of the stylists yet.
Love you!
Hi All,
I made Valentines too, For my TOPS group. They came out darling. I have a craft room that was too full to be functional so I got in last week and cleared it out...now I am in it a couple of hours every day. I love to do this stuff.
Today I need to get more yarn for my temperature afghan. I crochet a row in the color that goes with the high temperature for each day of the year. We are in the mid 70s now which brings in a new color. The one mistake I made is that I should have gone with a smaller crochet needle because 365 rows will make a huge blanket. I'm loving this though.
I need to run to JoAnns for yarn in a minute. I hope you are all having a good day!
Ladies,
I am dragging today but am getting on here earlier than usual. I love the valentines. We set up valentine making stations in our center and when students come in for an appointment, they must make a valentine.
I don't think I will ever have my beautiful sexy legs of my pre-fat days. I can lose hundreds of pounds and the skin that hangs around my thighs make my legs look like elephant legs...my doctor said I should get the full body lift and I was totally opposed because of my MS and recovery from being put into a big sleep and all of that, but I think I am going to at least go in for the consultation. My arms and legs are so horrible with saggy skin and I just need it gone.
Well, let me get off of here and get back to work.
Peace out ladies and move, make good food choices, and mentally rest....
