Well a hardy good morning to all!!!  The sun is shining at it is a crisp 37 degrees.  It will warm up to the 60's by noon.  An absolutely beautiful day.  Would love to go for a long walk but everything is super bowl today so I be occupied inside.  GRR as Judy would say.

Hope everyone enjoys the game is they are so inclined.  I have a soft spot in my heart for Gary Kubiak so I am pulling for the Broncos.

Guess during my down time today I will do a little laundry, that's easy.  I still need to complete the dismantlement of my pantry so I might do that a shelf at a time.

I need to start thinking about what to take to Arkansas on Tuesday.  I'll be gone from Tuesday to Sunday so I don't need to take much plus I have a washer and dryer there so packing light is the goal.

Vickie - Waiting with baited breath for your new bundle of joy

Connie- hope you are in less pain today

Judy- Did you win big at super bingo?

Julia - How did you craft day go with your friend?

Mary- No more snow I hope.

I can't remember what else I read in Friday and Saturday's posts but I hope all is well with everyone else.  Memory.....where did it go?

Hey Linda,

Where in AR will you be staying and for how long? If I can get away, maybe you and I can have a cup of something.

Well, last night, DH had to rush me to the ER...damn cast. Let me just say that I am a pretty neat person, for the most part. Apparently, I am not as neat as I think.  I made us a snack of jello and cottage cheese (sugar free of course) and before we went to bed, I had my casted foot up on a stool and it was itching really badly. DH was trying to get lotion in the stupid cast on my foot and he notice blood on the cast so he made me load up and off to the ER we went.  The ER folks called my ortho guy who wasn't on call but his on call person came and first thing he did was X-ray the foot and he said, well, since you will probably get the cast off on Tuesday, let's take it off and put a immobilizer on it and so he did...the blood...I am so embarrassed to say...was jello....I guess I dropped a bite and it went straight into my cast and melted, causing the itching, and it leaked red out onto the cast...but, hey, I am cast free so yeah!!!  Of course, when the cast guy came to cut the cast off and found the red stuff not coming from me, he said, you must have dropped something in your cast because your skin has no breaks at all and looks good...I felt like a slob.  But the cast is off. I was able to get in the tub and soak the body from top to bottom....oh yes.   And the ortho doctor said my bones sure are in good shape for a woman my age and he asked was I taking calcium supplements and I said, nope...the tests they did on me always come back that I am full of it and so I don't take calcium...he did say I should but I have super strong bones.  My doctor said that when women are super morbidly obese as I was, our bones get bigger and heavier to carry us around and that creates a storage area for calcium so unless we have low bone density, calcium just isn't necessary.

Today was oatmeal day and I really outdid myself making my super loaded oatmeal. I roasted walnuts and sunflower seeds and cooked a huge fat peach in my cast iron skillet with a little butter and cream and added prunes and dried cranberries and I topped it all of with cinnamon and cardamom...just a little of both. Now I am too full.

Okay, I have to tell you guys about last night...before the rush to the ER.  We have just signed on to HBO Now and are slowly making our way through all the old movies and the series that we haven't seen or the ones we have seen but not for a long time, so we were watching the Patsy Cline story and we loved that movie and we both love her songs and of course some of her songs make me cry and she the movie got to one of those songs that makes me cry and I was trying not to let DH know I was crying because he finds it amusing that I cry over movies anyway, so I am holding back the water works and then I hear a sniff and I look and he is about to blow his nose and I say, you are crying  and he said, no I'm not and I said, yes you are...he was crying...he cried over the song sweet dreams.  I said, why are you crying and he said years ago, when he was trying to get me to love him, he felt like that song...and he realized that he would never have me....and then he said, but my charming self finally won you over....ha!  he is such a sentimental old fool....

Ladies, have a good day. Eat healthy, move a little, and remember, stress creates the hormones that make your body store fat...so don't stress....

What a hoot.  Are you sure you didn't do that on purpose in order to get the cast off?

It was oatmeal morning for me too but not as elaborate as yours.  I just cooked mine adding blueberries at the last moment so they would not be cold but my oatmeal would not be purple.  Then I added walnuts and bananas.  One of my favorite breakfasts.

Now I am taking a break from cleaning my pantry.  I have only one shelf left then I have to get rid of all the stuff that was in the pantry but is now on my kitchen counters.  Have to decide to donate to a food bank or throw away.  Too much sugar in them.  I am having stomach problems I can't quite figure out but I can't eat sugar at all any more.

I am going to Hot Springs Village.  I have a couple of condos there that I need to check on.  If I remember correctly you are in Fayetteville which is quite a distance from me.  Is that sorta NW AR?  What is the weather like there.  Is it as humid as south AR?  I am looking for a dry place to relocate.

I don't have HBO.  I did once but the movies came on at unusual times and I was always checking at 8:00 and things had started at 7:30 stuff like that.  Then they came up with HBO on demand so I could watch a movie at anytime. I had that for awhile until I got regular TV on demand.  I found I didn't really need it so I dropped it.

I also like Patsy Cline.  She died way too young.

Guess I better get back to the grind

Linda,

I think of all of AR, Fayetteville is the best place to live. While we are not immune to the humidity, it isn't quite as humid as down around Hot Springs. I love going to Hot Springs and we take our grandkids there often to stay and then go mine for crystals.

We don't have cable TV at all but we have AppleTV which gives us access to internet TV and HBONow is through online...like net flex and hula.

Patsy Cline did die way too young.  I don't think there have been very many men or women with a voice as strong and on tune as her voice.  maybe leann Rime but she still cannot compete with Patsy.

Jeannie

Never a dull moment at your house...lol...between jello, broken bones, colonoscopies and anesthesia, the ER, and tears over ole Patsy!

But geez, how sweet of your husband for the memory of the significance of the song!

Kathy,

My husband thinks I plotted the jello in the cast just so they would take it off but I swear that is not the case. LOL

Hi Linda and my OFF family:

I'm off today so I can watch the Super Bowl. I never get it off nowadays and so I took a vacation day. Gary and I are going to have a Super Bowl party. He doesn't really like football but will watch for the commercials. It's just nice to have a Sunday off after another brutal Saturday night.

Nothing much else going on here. I work, eat and sleep. I need to get to the Y more often, but I've just been too tired. Will try to get back at it this week. Plus, I have an infected finger again. I thought it was getting better but it started getting worse. So tomorrow I'm going to urgent care.

I read everything every day, just some days don't have time to answer.

Jeannie, I chuckled about the jello on your cast. What a hoot.

Judy, congrats on the winnings.

Connie, hope you're feeling better.

Well, I guess I'll sign off. Have a good day.
