ME
Well I just got back from my Dr appointment and found out my scope results. NOT GOOD. The colonoscopy I had polyps not polyp. I go back in 3 years for another colonoscopy...YIPPEEE!! NOT!! The EGD I have Barretts and need to have a HALO procedure done IF my insurance Approves it. If it doesn't, I need to keep have EGD's done to keep an eye on it so it doesn't become cancer. It could be CLOSE NOW TO CANCER the Dr said. So it is in my insurance company's hands now to approve the next step. If approved surgery will be set. I forget all the BIG WORDS used...he lost me at Could be CLOSE TO CANCER!!!!!!!!!!! I am shaking in fear right now with this F*%KING insurance that I have cutting out all my Dr's and hospitals right now!!!!!!!!
So that is my news and am asking for thoughts and prayers from my OFF family. Thank you all so much!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSS
PS I forgot...I LOST a few pounds!!!! WOOHOOO!!! Also my BP was 108/64
Hi Judy!
I understand your fear about potential cancer. It is scary as hell to hear what you had to hear!
Cancer changed my life...for the better! Granted, I was very fortunate I had an early diagnosis and surgery only took care of it. But that scare was so deep I totally re-evaluated my life and made major changes whi*****luded leaving my loony bin job at the shelter bc of the stress level. I began preparing for the WLS during my time off. I spent more time with those important to me, and relaxing all last year. They say stress can contribute to developing cancer...between that and my obesity I was a sitting duck!
Our family has a history of colon polyps, and I usually have a few every scope. I get checked on a 3 yr schedule, too. Small price to pay to avoid a bigger problem. Just stay on top of all you need to do.
And DO appeal as suggested if necessary. Insurance companies suck, but will usually approve testing, etc for higher risk patients..when pushed!
Hang in there... Prayers!
Kathy
Hello our sweet Judy....I have ben praying for you all day. I am glad the results are in. I don't like what the doctor had to say, "Could Be Close Now to Cancer"! I am crying trying to type this. You have been my dear friend for so long. I love you very much!!
I will continue to pray that your damn insurance company pays as they should. I hate the way we, people that aren't wealthy, can't pay for better insurance. The kind you really need. You have worked hard all your life. You have paid insurance for so long. This just isn't right! You get rejected for things you need. That is just wrong!!! They better think hard and pay for this!!!
I wish I could help you in some way. I will keep sending tons of love and so many hugs just for you!!!
I am here day and night...don't hesitate to contact me!
Try to relax this evening....go to bed and watch movies!!

Dearest Judy,
I will be sending out many prayers to you. Hope everything turns out OK.
I had the same issue in my thirties, a long time ago. Insurance companies weren't for profit d***s then. I had several options and because I always was in agony with my periods had a partial hysterectomy. Friends were actually angry I would consider this option. I could have had the tissue frozen and scraped. But i had the plumbing taken out because of the agonizing periods. They were brutal.
You are a great lady and always make me laugh. Again, many prayers going your way. HUGS, Arlene.
Dear Judy:
When I read health insurance horror stories here I am so glad for Canada's "universal" health system. It's not perfect but it takes the worry out of the care options and whatever you need/choose will be covered. It is automatically covered and everyone gets whatever surgery and intervention needed, at the hospital you want in your area. Or you get sent to another better hospital with the expertise you need. I have additional private health insurance, coverage varies according to tier of insurance cost chosen, but it is only to cover prescription meds, eyeglasses, therapeutic massage, upgrading from ward to semi-private room in hospital, crutches and equipment like wheelchairs and extra in-home nursing, dental care plan, etc.
I feel for you and your stress levels must be intolerable. Hope your insurance does the right thing and you get the appropriate surgery you need and really fast,m and don't have to waste precious time fighting an appeal.
Hang in Judy, you are a tough ol'bird and will get through this. We are here for moral support.

Judy-
I reiterate everything that has been said by fellow OFF members. Hang in there and as Kathy suggested appeal any health insurance denial. It sucks that we all have to worry about affordable care health insurance and what it is doing to our rights.
I have polyps too and have to go every five years. I'll be thinking of you and swinging chickens.
