Still here Thursday

Vic and Ladies,

DH had his colonoscopy with small bowel intubation...the news isn't as good as it could have been. They removed three medium sized polyps and six small ones but the small ones are coming back in the same spot that they have removed polyps in the past.  I don't know how they can tell but the doc said it was a little worrisome. They also said  his diverticulosis has moved to the far end of mild to severe...and that there were a few that looked like they could easily rupture so he wants to talk to him about doing a colon resection and taking out some of the bad areas of diverticulosis and get the spots that keep growing the polyps.  The doc did say that they ploys didn't look cancerous so that is all good. So, the doctor and I met for him to talk to me in a little room away from where DH was recovering because he was so sedated....but then we get back to the recovery room and the doctor starts talking about the polyps again and the colonresection and DH is sedated and thinks he is hearing the doctor say they took out his colon and he has cancer.   Geeze so I was going to go to work after getting him home and situated but he is too upset...just as soon as I reassure him all is well and we are home, he takes a nap and starts the confusion all over again...so there you go.

So I am sitting here watching him sleep.  I have so much to do and don't have time to sit around...but you know...

I guess I can clean out my closet too since I cannot do anything else.  Now's a good time to throw away all his old clothes that he refuses to toss...he is such a hoarder.

Ladies, have a good day and Vic, drive carefully and shame on that company for lying about the check...

Hello Jeannie...I am so so sorry about your husbands news. I know some people that have diverticulosis. It is an awful condition. I am sad that his confusion is worse too. That poor guy. The plans the doctor has sounds like a good choice. I sincerely hope all goes well for him and you as well.

Are you getting around any better now or still having so much pain?

Sending tons of love  and bunches of hugs ...connie d

Connie,

I am still doing the limp here and limp there but it hurts less every day.  Kenny has crones disease and diverticulosis on top of a family history (sister, dad, uncle, and cousin) of colon cancer so he gets the colonoscopy every year and almost always has at least two polyps. But, getting a colon resection may end some of the polyps because it is in the area where they keep coming back.

Everything is going great other than this little set back...you know how that goes.

Jeannie

For smart people doctors can be stupid sometimes.  What's the point of talking to you privately if he is going to repeat it all in front of hubby while he is still semi-sedated?  Once he is clear headed he may appreciate the information that the colon resection might cut down on the frequency of the colonoscopies.  My hubby is a hoarder too.  My refrigerator broke and I had to get a new one. Lots of things going on and in his frustration over it all I actually was allow to throw out condiments that had expired in 2009.  His claim.....If it contains vinegar it won't spoil.  That mustard etc would have stayed there until the 2nd coming because no way was I going to eat it.

Hi sistas! Just a quick note to let y'all know that the check was in the mail today! Hooray. It was a long trip today. There were multiple wrecks all along I35 today. I was grateful to get here in one piece!  Tomorrow I'll set up my laptop and get set up to post daily, etc. Tonight all I want is some dinner and my jammies. Love y'all!

P.S. Jeannie I'm sorry y'all might be facing more surgery but I'm so thankful no cancer was found.

Vic,

I hope your drive is safe and as you wait for the birth of your first granddaughter, you have time to rest.  We were happy there was no cancer but we won't know for sure until we get the pathology report back in a few days but the doctor said they didn't look like cancer and he is a very experienced colon doctor.

Anyway, rest up and get ready for the baby...time will fly.
