Still here Thursday

Good morning sistas,

Yes, I am still here at my house.  That darn check wasn't in the mail yesterday.  SO I called the forester.  He told me he was mailing it on Saturday, but really, he didn't mail it until MONDAY.  Ok.  Just tell me the damn truth.  With any luck at all, the check will be here today.

Regardless, I am leaving for Waco today.  Carrie has a get-acquainted visit with a new Pediatrician tomorrow and I want to be there for it.  So I will wait until the mail is delivered around 1:30 p.m.  If the check is there, that's great.  If not, I'm out of here.  Perhaps Chris can bring it up to Waco for me when she comes up for a visit.

I think I have all the documentation I need to do my 2015 taxes this morning.  I need to get that behind me.  I am going to try.  If I miss something (because even though companies are supposed to have all your tax forms to you by Jan 31st, I've noticed that MANY of them DON'T!), I will just have to file an amended 1040.

Other than that, I'm just sitting here twiddling my thumbs.  I am all packed.  My house is clean.  I watered all the plants.  I'm ready to roll.

Love you all so much!  Next post will be from Baby HQ!

Don't you hate hurrying up to wait.  That is so frustrating.  Especially when you're trying to get to the birth of a new grandchild.  THEY don't wait.

I wish my house was clean.  As soon as it was cleaned Tuesday I started tearing it apart again.  It is a mess but progress has been made....really.  Kitchen cabinets emptied, cleaned and rearranged.....check,  kitchen drawers emptied, cleaned and rearranged.......check, two deep drawers for plastic ware emptied, tops and bottoms matched, singles thrown out, drawers cleaned and plastic ware return to its proper place.........check. Pantry one emptied out, cleaned, and items replace......check.

Now I have to do the same with the deep drawers my pots and pans live in and finish pantry 2 which I started last night.  My counters are covered with the detritus left over that I have to donate or throw away.

I have finished my guest bedroom closet.  Right now it holds all the bags of things I am donating.  When I get to my closet I will take all the clothes that do not fit me but I want to keep and put them in the guest closet.  I have decided that nothing will live in my closet that I can't wear.

Like I said my house is a mess.  Must have it all together by Tuesday when I leave for Arkansas.

That's it for me

Good luck Linda!  I like your resolution about your closet.  I currently have two sizes in my closet:  Large (which is too tight now, dammit) and X-Large.  But hey, pre-WLS, I used to have six or seven sizes in my closet!  Every time I see those Large size shirts and pants, I get depressed because last year they fit, and this year they don't!

I, too, have a pile to donate.  It's in my garage.  They are coming to pick it up on the 9th.  Thankful!  It will be all gone by the time I return from Waco.

Have a great day!

Good morning almost afternoon everyone.....

Not much time to chat. My driver comes to pick me up for my dental appointment in a little while. Just a cleaning this time.

It was snowing again this morning. It stopped a bit ago. Didn't get more then a couple inches if that. The sun just came out too! The temp is 25 but feels like 16. I better wear boots and a warm jacket.

I need to go for now. I will check in later.

Prayers for our special OFF Family and their families. Special prayers for those in need.

Much love and buckets of hugs to all....connie d

This is Texas.  We don't have much of a winter and this one has been mild.  We had frost a week or so ago and that was it.  Spring is definitely here but alas it doesn't last....summer comes quickly and that is miserable.  I am hoping to get all closets and the garage and attic clear so I can call a realtor for info on selling.  I want to move to a drier climate.  Just can't decide where.  Hubby and I are having a hard time agreeing.  He wants warm I want cooler.  It may take awhile.

Good Afternoon Vickie and OFF,

I hope that check gets to you before you leave.  I also hope the visit with the pediatrician goes well.  When I had Colleen, my first, I was in an Army hospital, with no choice of doctors for her, or me.  It was potluck with every visit.

Frankie came for a visit this morning, so Colleen could go do her volunteer work at the school.  He is so good.  He sits and the floor, and plays with the Hot Wheels, making up stories about them fighting each other.  Then, we read some books.  Our public library is having a 1,000 books before Kindergarten challenge.  The kids sign up at the library, and get a totebag with a fox on it.  They also get a record sheet, with 100 paw prints to color, for each book read.  He turned in his first sheet last week, and got a fox tattoo, and his hand stamped with a paw print.  Since he won't enter Kindergarten till September 2017, Colleen's goal is to have him reach 2,000 books by then.

I'm still making Valentines.  I want to get them in the mail by Monday, so they get to Meals on Wheels before Valentine's Day.

Must scoot.

Hugs,

Trish

Hello Trish.....I am glad you got to spend sometime with Frankie this morning. He seems to be to entertaining himself more now. I think reading to children is the best gift you can give them. Books are great!! I am happy your library is providing challenges like that. It sounds like a really fun time!!  I remember Gracie involved in those reading programs.

Have fun making your Valentines...you are so kind!!

Love and many hugs to you....connie d

I love to read, always have.  Aren't grandkids great.  Frankie will remember the times he spends with you reading to him.  My grand daughter always runs to get books for me to read to her.  Some times as many as 20 at a time, of course they are the same ones over and over.  Now she will say " you read and I will copy you".  At first she would repeat each word as I said it but I told her to wait until I stopped.  So I read a phrase and she repeats.  She even uses the same inflection I do. What a hoot.  She is definitely a drama queen. 1000 books is a lot to read, 2000? quite a feat.  That would be great, just be sure he has time to enjoy each book.  The goal is the love of reading.

Good morning Vickie....Why do people always have to lie....that fool could have been honest and told you the truth about the check. He knew you were anxious to get it and he knew he still hadn't mailed it. JERK!!

I am glad you are leaving for Waco today. That little bundle is thinking about coming to see everyone soon. I love to think of Carrie as a mommy!!! She will be great!

Could you have a envelope ready, addressed and stamped to Carrie. Then have Chris send it? You would get it sooner ...maybe?

I hope you have all you need to get your taxes completed.

Love and more hugs to you....connie d
