Beautiful Sunday!
Hi Ladies!
Not much happening - I feel so tired all the time lately. Don't usually sleep all night, but I doze constantly....and I just feel wrung out. I've been working on getting rid of "stuff" and have brought some things to the Salvation Army....but still have a long way to go. I try to keep busy - one of the cooks at the Food Share asked me to volunteer at a dinner he is starting up - it will be the first and third Wednesday each month. I'm trying to stay busy.
Hope everyone is doing well, and feeling better.
Mary
Mary, If you go to your doctor for labs have them test you ferritin as well as you iron. My labs show no problem but when I learned about ferritin from someone here it was so low I needed iron infusions. It was explained to me like this....Ferritin is like the savings account your blood draws from when iron is low. your iron could be reading ok but you have depleted your savings. So many things can make you feel tired. Thyroid and sleep apnea being two others. Good luck with finding the cause.
Hello Mary....you have been missed!
I am sorry you are feeling so tired out. Are you physically or mentally tired out or both? I am praying for you!!
It is wonderful that you are continuing with your volunteering. That will help you feel better about
I had that really bad until I ended that medication. My head is clear and my balance is much better. My fatigue sucks as does the pain. That will probably be the way my life will be. There is only so much they can give me for pain. I am allergic to so many. I have no idea what they will try next. I just keep trying to go forward!!
Have a good evening...love you...hugs....connie d
Hi Everyone!
It has been another busy week between work and home, but I read posts every day as I get time.
I finally went back in to see my surgeon. Was supposed to see him the day my brother passed away, but cancelled and never rescheduled. So I had to get on it and I am glad I did. He was very supportive of how depressed and stressed I have been. He also said I am eating fine...1000-1200 calories is okay as long as I am getting my protein and water in. He said my weight loss may be slower, but lack of exercise is contributing to that. I finally got down in the 240s so he said as long as I continue to lose we will both be happy. Phew!
Work is becoming less nerve-wracking as I learn my way around. I am feeling a little more confident...plus I bought some new pants. I cannot find a damn thing in any of the resale shops so I bought a few leggings and new jeans. They will need to carry me thru until warm weather as I hate buying new and then they don't fit a month later. But even new leggings will be a treat over my saggy, baggy pants I have now!
Went to lunch with my sister, sister in law, niece and youngest daughter yesterday. If you have a Ruby Tuesdays near you try the boubon chicken at 345 calories. It was SO good...yum!
My niece wants to get a tattoo in memory of my brother...her dad so we all decided to go together to get one next month! It will be my first...at 59 freaking years old
Vickie, I am looking forward to baby girl being born, too. Carrie is so beautiful in her pictures...just glowing, and baby quilt was a piece of art. The lake house should sell quickly...it is beautiful, too, and good luck with the timber check!
Trish, was thinking of you Friday. Hope all went well!
Jeannie, can't believe you broke bone in your foot and did not know it! Ouch! Also, my Dietician told me about the bagel and sandwich thins...I love them. But I also eat the Sara Lee 45/calorie slice bread...when I eat bread!
Carla, enjoy Ms. Vinnie when you get out there...I am sure she is excited to know you're coming. Jazz asked for the MacPro for Christmas... Nice, but not spending that kind of money on a 14 year old!
Connie, I usually only get on to post on weekends anymore, but think of you daily. Glad your dog is better...Tink is my baby!
Yay Judy...winning last night! You can make the check out in my name...lol! And you do know if anything serious was wrong on your tests you would have heard by now!
Sorry girls, but gotta run...a ton to do before bedtime.
My love to all!
Kathy
Kathy,
You are doing great! When I went to the doctor and he x-rayed my foot and it came back broken, I was as shocked as he was...I said, you know, it hasn't really been hurting and only started swelling today...he couldn't believe it. Now that I am thinking about it, after I injured my toe, which is when I broke my foot, it did hurt for a few days but I keep thinking it was my toe...it wasn't until the doctor started trying to push on my foot and move it around that I realized how much it really hurt. My husband broken the small bone in his leg a few years ago and he was walking around but limping and finally he said, I think I should go to the doctor....but he is such a baby, I said, look, you have been walking on it all day and the doctor's office is closed...if it were broken, you would not have been able to walk so I talked him to waiting until the doctor's office opened the next day and by then, he couldn't even put that foot on the floor, so the doctor x-rayed and showed us the bone all broken clean and nice and I felt like a toad for making him wait. But with him, it's so hard to tell if he is really hurting or just being a baby....
Hello Kathy my ray of sunshine!!
I am so glad you went back to see your surgeon. He fortified how great you really are doing. I am proud of you!!!
I am glad you bought some pants you will feel better in. Baggy pants just don't make anyone look good!
I love to eat a Ruby Tuesday's. There isn't one here. If I can get to a place that has one I almost always choose them!! YUM!!
I have one tattoo on my left shoulder. It is a small butterfly with stardust. I got that when I finally went through all my childhood issues dealing with my brother. It is a symbol of me flying away from the pain. I hope you have something in mind. I am not a huge tattoo fan but I do love this one. More so for what it means then what it is. Let me know what you decide to have done.
I am still waiting to hear if there is any other news about Kippley. I wish my daughter would answer me. I just sent he a text about an hour ago. They could be going to pick her up. I will call later if need be. Thanks for caring about Kippley!!! You have a little Think....how sweet!
Have a great evening...much love and hugs to you....connie d
Good afternoon everyone.....
Vickie....I hope Caralee can wait until you get there....she is letting it be know she will be here soon!! Carrie must be so excited!! How funny that her doctor was at the same club she was at!!
That is such a great feeling when you work hard and can see such a accomplishment. Good for you!
I hope the shopping trip you and your mom go on turns out great and doesn't wear you out too much. You will be very busy really soon. That is a lot of places to go to in a day. Then this is me who can't do more then a couple things a day!!
I am happy to know you found no ticks again. Maybe it just takes a bit for the pesticide to work. You probably had a lot of them.
As for me... I am doing okay. I still have that crazy fatigue and pain. I feel like doing things. I try to do more then I crash and burn pretty quickly . Very frustrating!! Oh well...onward I go!!
Nothing else happening here today. I am watch cooking shows. I am catching up on some things like filling my med containers. I need to get some things ready to get in the mailbox tonight too.
I am still waiting to hear from Jamie today about Kippley. Jamie had to go into work to finish up some year end financial paperwork. I think she should be home now. I will wait a bit and then text or call her. I am praying Kippley is doing well!!!
Prayers for our wonderful OFF Family and their families.
Have a great rest of the day....love and hugs....connie d
Good Afternoon Vickie and OFF,
Wow! Was I a zombie yesterday> Between a huge lack of sleep, and anesthesia on Friday, I couldn't put two intelligent words together in the same sentence yesterday. It was the worst. My surgery went well, and Colleen got me home safely. We picked up sandwiches at McAllister's Deli, a chain here. They make a yummy Reuben. Poor Colleen was famished, coz she hadn't eaten since breakfast on the way to my surgery. I was given graham crackers in post-op, so I was hungry, but not ravenous.
I caught up on all the posts I missed, but can't remember what I wanted to say to everyone.
Vickie, I'm excited for you, as you head to Waco to welcome your granddaughter. I was only able to be here when Lincoln was born. When Izzy was born, I was still teaching, and had to wait a week for the school year to end, before I could come out. With Lincoln, I arrived on Friday, July 31st, and we went out for Mexican food. Colleen was doing everything she could to induce labor naturally, including riding the tractor to cut the grass. She had really spicy food for dinner, and that evening, I noticed she was having pretty regular Braxton Hicks contractions. Next morning, she woke me up early to tell me they were leaving for the hospital. Izzy and I went later, and Lincoln was born after only five hours of labor. He was a week early, and weighed 9 pounds 6 ounces. Then, with Frankie, I spent two weeks here helping Colleen, because Trent was working out of town during the week, and Colleen was still working half-days at the school she used to work at. So, Lincoln and I played every morning, while Izzy was at preschool. Then, I went home, and Frankie arrived the day after I got home. So, I came back out for a week, to help Colleen, and then her Dad came out for a week.

Hello Trish....I am about worn out. It has taken me all afternoon to do the few replies that I did. My hands don't like me today. I will do my best for you.
I am so glad your surgery went well. Also glad Colleen was able to get you back home. That reuben sounds great!! I haven't had one in so long. I never heard of that deli branch but I wish there was one here!
What a great idea to make Valentines for the people that receive Meals on Wheels. You are so thoughtful!!
I hope you get your Valentines done. I didn't see your post on Facebook as I am not on there much anymore...again just because of my hands.
Have a good evening....love and many hugs...connie d
