I hate When That Happens
So, this evening, for dinner, I made a steamer full of mixed vegetables: carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, and celery and I also made Teriyaki salmon, which was very good. We ate and then Kenny picks out this horrible movie that involved a woman trapped in a car and serial killer...I hate when that happens. Then, he said, well, what's there to snack on, so I cut up some cucumbers and bell peppers and he said, we don't have any crackers and butter...I also hate when that happens....so he ate the cucumbers and bell peppers and then he asked if we had any diabetic cocoa...of course we don't so he says, can you make some homemade with splenda and I said, you're not still hungry and he said, yeah...I also hate when that happens...so I made him hot cocoa...and he said, thi****s the spot...not so fast cowboy...so I started coloring and suddenly he says, did you say we have cottage cheese...I said, do you need to be checked for tape worms; I hate when that happens...he eats and eats and eats. So, I got him cottage cheese...interrupted again. Then, I said, I'm gonna take a shower (the movie was getting too gross for me) and while I'm in the shower and the water is on as hot as I can stand it, he decides to wash his snack dishes all up and so he puts them in the sink and then he turns on the water and guess what happens in the shower: I really hate when that happens. So, after I recovered from getting drowned in cold water, I go into the living room, and 'm sitting here and he is finally falling asleep in his recliner and I say, are you asleep and he says, what and I say, are you asleep...if you are, will you turn the TV off so I can concentrate on my coloring and he says, I am awake...I'm just resting my eyes...I triple hate when that happens...
To say that this evening has been one crap shoot after another would be putting it mildly...but what really makes me so mad is he will eat and eat and eat because he knows that I am going to make him all these snacks in as healthy a way as possible so his blood sugar will stay down and he will continue to drop weight...And after about twenty minutes of hearing him snore, and knowing that he is for real asleep, I creep into the kitchen and make me a loaded pancake...sure the pancake mix is probably not the most healthy food but I filled it with all kinds of fiber...raisins, toasted sunflower seeds, and some oatmeal. I gently fried them in a little olive oil and ate one very small pancake and just when I was about to take a bite, DH says, whatcha eaten'...I said, you were asleep and he said, can I have one and I said, sure and then he says, can I have syrup and I said, no...and he says, but pancakes need syrup...I promise you, when he goes to the doctor for his check up, he will have lost more weight....I hate when that happens.
Kathy,
At least Jim bakes. LOL...Kenny decided one day when I was sick that he was going to make the kids sugar/butter toast to go with their cold cereal and I smelled something and pulled myself out of bed and made it to the living room and my granddaughter said, "look, Nana, we Granddad finally cooked the toast without burning it." Kenny said, man, I don't know why, but even with me standing in front of the oven waiting for the toast to cook, the damn things burned...a loaf of bread later, he finally got toast that was not burned to a crisp....
LOL....see? You prove my point again...MEN!
Jim loves to cook, bake and buy any kitchen appliance or gadget he can get his hands on! He has been 'trying out' his bread maker for 2 years now after finding out he can make much more than bread.
I have always appreciated having a man who cooks and bakes...it is his way of spoiling us since he cannot work. But he needs to lose weight and it is doubly hard for him being in a wheelchair. Jazz definitely needs to lose weight. So while it's great he cooks and bakes sometimes I wish he'd burn some toast and give it all a break!
