Too busy Thursday!

Good morning beautiful sistas!

Oh, my!  My head spins with all I need to get done today.  Can I just go back to bed, please?  LOL!

I'm still working on the chores on my To-Do list.  I'm happy that I have most of them ticked off this week.  The only thing is the ones that are left are the ones I've been putting off all week!  Well, onward and upward. I will do it today!

I went to Lowe's yesterday (while Mom was at the grocery store) and looked at dishwashers.  OMG.  I despair of finding the right one for me.  I want a DW that will DRY THE DISHES.  Otherwise, what's the point of buying a new one?  The one that came with this house cleans just fine.  But it doesn't dry a damn thing.  So I go shopping for a new one, and what do I find?  In the quest for a High Energy Efficient rating, the manufacturers have almost universally dropped the feature of a heating element to dry the dishes.  Also, the big deal now is to make the quietest DW possible, so they have also dropped the food grinder feature.  Instead they all have these damn filters at the bottom that you have to clean out.  Ugh.  I don't like these new features.  I'll keep looking . . .

Took Budder's quilt to a local quilt shop and actually, the cost for quilting was quite reasonable.  Only $60 to quilt it all over.  But because I'm going to be gone in two weeks, and because I want Chris just to be able to pick up a finished quilt, I also paid for the binding to be put on, that was another $50!  So it turned out to be a little on the expensive side.  But next time I'll know what and how to do things.

I am excited to find the Scrappy Quilter though.  They offer classes that I would love to take.  Can't sign up for anything right now, what with the baby coming and all, but next fall . . . !  And holy cow, my mouth nearly watered at the sight of all that gorgeous fabric!  I will become a quilter yet!

Anyway, today I am working here in the house for most of the day.  This morning I am going to clean out and organize my closet.  I bought a couple of closet organizer thingies at Lowe's and whatever I can't fit (easily!) into my closet is going out today.  Clothes, shoes, whatever . . . I am sick and tired of the piles of mess in there.

Then I'm going up in my attic and lay some boards across the joists so that I can move some of the boxes that are all over the garage floor up into the attic.  Christmas stuff, etc.  I looked at some shelving at Lowes yesterday, and I saw some that would be ideal for holding those big plastic tubs, but I just don't have the time right now to buy them, haul them home, assemble them, etc.  Besides they weigh a ton!

Late this afternoon, when she gets off work, Chris is going to help me with the truck.  I'm going to take the truck to a car dealership in San Antonio.  I got an Autotrader bid on the truck, and I'm just going to take it.  I need the truck gone and the cash in hand.  I'm no good at selling stuff on my own out of the driveway.  I listed that truck on several sites earlier this week and didn't get a nibble.  So the hell with it.  As long as I get at least $12K in cash for it, I'm satisfied.

So, that's my busy, busy day.  Tomorrow I meet with the Realtor to list the lake house.  Then I babysit the boys all weekend.  Then I head up to Waco on Monday.  Etc., etc., etc.  It's a good thing I'm feeling better or I would never make it.  I have held firm to the not eating meat resolution, but I have had a little Coke and chocolate this week.  Dammit.  I LIKE drinking Cokes.  I go back and forth arguing with myself on whether it's really necessary for me to give them up.  And I LIKE chocolate.  I had to give up my husband.  Do I have to give up Coke and chocolate too?  (See, I really am crazy, just like y'all suspected all along!)

Praying for Judy today.  I hope she's doing well and her procedure is fast and has good results.  Praying for our Connie, who's pretty much been MIA, which makes me worry about her.  I Love YOU, Connie!  Hope Trish continues to heal and that the second surgery to dig that lost pin out of her toe goes well.  Everyone else, I can't remember what to say, but I think about each of you when I read your posts and I "comment" in my head at least.  LOL!

Well, I'd better get busy.  Love you all!

Hi Vickie and Carla and my OFF family:

I got up early with the intention of going to the Y ... but as soon as I got up, I got a headache, and then I got nauseous. So far, the Imitrex and a vicodin hasn't made a dent in it. And now I found out we have a snow run start (even though the storm is supposed to pass us to the south), so we're starting at 2 p.m. So I have to get myself together early.

Vickie, I still have dark chocolate daily. But I limit myself to 15 kisses a day. I let them melt slowly in my mouth. And I log them in my daily calories in myfitnesspal.com. Everything in moderation.

Last night I called my friend Patricia in Louisiana. She gave me Juliette. She always has some interesting adventures. This time, she trapped a raccoon family that had taken up residence in her house. It was a mom and two babies. She trapped the mom first and took her out to the lake, then did the babies the next day. It happened to be New Year's Eve, and there was a sobriety checkpoint at which she had to stop. She had to hope the cops didn't notice the live trap in the back seat. The next day, when she trapped the babies, she said they were back there chattering at each other. She let the one out first and he sat there waiting for his sibling. Then the two sat there looking at her; she told them, "Go find your mommy." Patricia is a force of nature, she has MS and a heart problem and is 4-11, 98 pounds. She's 61 years old and doesn't give in to anyone anymore (she was an abused wife for years).

Well, as soon as Gary gets out of the shower, it's my turn. I want to get my hair washed and dried and have lunch before I go to work. Have a good day ... Carla, hope you have a nice trip.

Morning All,

I'm chopping onions and had to stop a minute to let my eyes recover. The reason I am chopping is....datatada! I am making Connie's chow mein! I finally got myself together with all of the ingredients. I was having trouble figuring out what Kitchen Bouquet was but I googled it and now I am all set to throw it together.

After I do that I have to go to the bank. I bought a couple more color books yesterday at B&N...wow the selection is mind boggling. I'm going to give away some of the ones I bought that really don't suit my taste. I bought a couple for my daughter.."The Brothers Grimm" and "Harry Potter". She loves "Dr. Who" so I'll get that one as soon as they get the shipment. We are heading to Avila Beach for a week so Laura is taking care of our dogs while we are gone. I'll pay her too but the books will be an extra thank you.

Tomorrow is my husband's birthday...#67! OMG he is OLD! Just kidding...but the numbers kind of shock me when I see them. I will be 62 on my birthday and I really feel young in my brain.

That's it...back to onions. Thanks for the recipe Connie!

Hi Everyone!!

Judy- glad you got your scopes done and over with.  I'm supposed to have a colonoscopy, but keep putting it off due to the horrible prep.

Missing Connie- Hope things are improving for you - I pray for you everyday.

My shoulder is improving - going to physical therapy for it.  Working at the food pantry doesn't help, I'm sure.  I try to avoid lifting anything heavy, but I unpack boxes, and package up breads, etc., so it's constant movement for about three hours every time I go.

I get to have Taylor for the weekend - happy about that.  Maura will drop her off tomorrow evening, and I'll be giving Maura a coloring book and colored pencils, and some lavendar incense... She is so hyper all the time, and I'm hoping these things will bring some quiet time to her ... her birthday was yesterday - I gave her some money to spend on herself - and these presents are just something extra.

Prayers and good wishes to all.

Mary

Vic and Ladies,

I'm dragging in at the last hour. Today was one of those non-stop days and I am beat.

Vic, I can quilt on my machine but it takes a lot of patience and manipulating the fabric. I have hand quilted quite a bit, using a hoop frame and also a square frame and truthfully I'd rather do it on the sewing machine.  I just started doing it recently and only after a friend of mine demonstrated on her little brother machine. If I ever get the money, I'm getting a free arm quilting machine because I can see it paying for itself after quilting for or five quilts for pay. That's not anything I'd want to do all the time, but to pay for the machine, I'd do it.

Well, I need to get off here and try to get the last of my water down.  I'll be up all night...but at least I will have met my goal.

Ladies, sleep well...

Vickie I have a Bosch dishwasher and I live mine. It has a drying cycle. It's so quiet I have to look to see if it's running. I think I paid 499.00 on sale. We got it at Lowes. Two years ago.
