Magical Monday
Copic Ciao is the less expensive of the Copic markers. They are high but refillable and lovely to use. They do bleed through. One of my color books figured that out and made the backside of each picture plain so it wouldn't ruin the next picture. I have colored pencils too. I'm experimenting with watercolor colored pencils. I have known for a long time that any art type activity calms me down.
The color book that I just mentioned is called "Color Me Calm" and I got it at Target.
Evening Ladies -- I'm late as usual.
Well, my trip to Best Buy and Michael's was a success. At Best Buy, I bought an outdoor antenna - according to the clerk, I should get 27 channels because I went with one that reaches longer distances. Ooooppps, I also bought a big tv. It was a steal. I'm going from a 19" screen to 48" Wow! Maura's tv is 55" I think. I had two 19" t ne flat screen and the other was the old big box type, and the picture was very dark. Jim and I were looking for a new tv for months and months and never got one. Charter was supposed to come today, but there was a mix-up so they are coming Wednesday. I tried to set the new tv up, but kept getting a no signal message. When I called Charter I reviewed my plan, and made some adjustments, and my bill will go from $231 to $160 because I cut back to "basic" cable. Once I get Joe or a neighbor to put up the antenna, I'll get rid of the cable and telephone (will use my Ooma for phone).
My first trip to Michael's.......O.M.G!!! I'm in love with the place. I bought some yarn and a crochet hook to practice....I'm hoping to make an afghan for my bed starting some time. I also bought a coloring book and colored pencils and some lavendar incense. I bought those for myself, but then remembers her birthday is 1/20, so I'll give them to her -- she is so stressed and I'd love to see her find something that will slow her down - she has a lot more stress than me, for sure. I'd like to take some classes there, but will wait for Spring for that.
Sending prayers and good wishes to all, especially Judy.

Hello, everyone:
I stayed home today as my lunch date friend cancelled because of a serious cold. Sunday's ice storm was not fun driving home from our older son Dan's Place but we got home safely by the skin of our teeth. The worst was the wind, seriously strong and bitter cold.
This morning I put a huge "Dutch Roladen" roast of beef in my biggest crock pot and it slowly cooked all day, perfectly spiced. These are not cheap but they never have waste on them and I can get so many meals out of one roast. Derek was over for supper (our younger son who lives next door) and I sent him home with 4 more roast beef meals complete with gravy, mashed potatoes and veggies in a thick onion & cheese sauce with LOTS of garlic.
I bought a new printer during BOXING WEEK..a SAMSUNG LASER PRINTER with all the frills...it was HALF PRICE!! My old one died yet another unnatural death and is headed soon to the big electronics recycling centre in the sky. Now I have to figure out how to use it, I am SO NOT a techie.
Today I spent much of my time either crocheting another set of hat (we call them TOUQUEs here) & matching infinity scarf...yesterday's set was yellow and hunter green...Today's set (almost done) is very soft light moss green and peach. My cancer meds make it difficult as they cause severe bone pain so I do my crocheting in bits and pieces. My wrists and fingers throb and I have to set my crochet work aside until later. I have 2 full bags now to give to the homeless shelter...it's been so bitter cold that I cannot imagine living like that.
Also today, I am also designing a special flyer to announce my new "COLOUR ME HAPPY" workshops. (named after my series of healing energy mandala colouring books).
The first one is Thursday Jan 28th from 1-3pm at a local winery. "Wine, Chocolate & Colouring". The ticket covers a glass of wine (red OR white) and chocolate...I will speak on the benefits of COLOURING and the HEALING ASPECTS of my new colouring books...more than just another colouring book. I have no idea if ANYONE will attend....lol.
I have another afternoon colouring workshop on Thurs, Feb 18th at a Niagara Falls Bed & Breakfast, a very elegant place...we will chat about healing mandala colouring, drink tea and eat homemade cookies & scones. "Treats and Tea & POSiTIVE ME!"
I will supply all the special mandala drawings for the ladies for both events, the colouring pencils/markers and a number of door prizes (a colouring book, some essential oil bath bombs, an amaryllis bulb and some chocolate oranges). It is just supposed to be a relaxing, casual and fun afternoon out during this dreary winter weather.
Well, I will scan facebook then do a few jigsaw puzzles online then get to bed. Tuesday is a busy day and the forecast calls for more snow and bitter cold winds...I am NOT amused.
