Ladies,

I thought I'd run in and do a quick post before I get ready for work. One more week before the students are back...we did have a few on campus last week but the spring semester doesn't begin until next week.

I hope you guys all have a fantastic day...keep warm...it's 18 degrees here and my toes are numb...

Catch you later today.

Good morning Jeannie and my sistas,

Well, glory be!  The scale MOVED!  Finally.  I dropped a pound.  Hooray!

Busy morning so far.  Took all three dogs to the groomers.  Then I stopped into Han**** Fabrics for a pink zipper, and wound up buying more fabric.  LOL!  Like that's a surprise.

I also popped into a little children's resale shop next door to Han****s and bought 3 little footed sleepers for the new baby and a couple of extra tee shirts for the boys.  Less than $20.  Gotta love it.  The sleepers are obviously brand new, but of course I'll wash them.  I can't see the sense in spending money on 0-3 month size clothes.  Caralee will be out of them before you can blink.  But she'll need them right away and nothing else will do, so . . .

I've got a couple of free hours, so I'm back to my sewing again.  Check in with y'all later!

Vic,

Have fun sewing. I am going to spend this evening trying to stay warm. I swear, once I get cold, I cannot warm up.  I agree that buying at resale shops makes the most logical sense...babies grow so fast.

Good morning Jeannie and OFF-

I've been lurking and reading your posts this past week while I traveled to take Mom back to NC and then return to Texas.

So here's the plan for my life in coming weeks to get back on track.

  1.  Go back to basics.  - Read all the documentation they gave me before surgery.  Sit at the dining room table to eat mindfully.  Put the fork down between bites.  No liquids 30 mins before, during and after meals.  Chew, chew, chew.  Eat proteins first.
  2. Set time for me to reflect with coloring.  I'm anxious to start coloring the sheets that I printed for friends at Christmas.  Definately going to visit Nancy's facebook page and print some of her Mandela's.
  3. Find a therapist here in Texas-  need to deal with Mom and brother issues more constructively.
  4. Exercise, exercise, exercise - Continue to teach water fitness but also explore other forms of exercising especially walking.

Mary read your thread yesterday about cooking gadgets.  I like Jeannie am simplifying my kitchen stuff.  I don't need the high volume cooking appliances anymore, I'm not cooking for anyone but myself.  I'm actually considering selling my china and just getting small salad plates and bowls.  That's usually what I eat from.  My relationship with food has to continue to evolve.

Judy thinking of you today.  Hope you have good news to report to us later today.  I think of you when I'm visiting my Mom's facility.  The staff there are terrific but it has to be depressing for them to care for a population of people who have a higher than normal death rate.

Trish glad to read that your foot is healing albeit with special pads.  Its good to have friends and acquaintences that can help you with transportation.  That's one of the reasons I chose where I am living now I have a network here.

Connie the debilitating pain that you have and the medications you take for that pain I'm sure also contribute to your depression.  I think of you constantly and hope that you can move closer to your family so you can have additional support.

Vickie happy to read that you have designate a sewing day.  I'm planning to do something similar after I get through this week of re-entry into normal life.  Loved the shower pictures you posted on Facebook.

Kathy I would not do your job for all the tea in China!  I have no patience for misbehaving children or teenagers.  Good that I'm not a mother as I would not have been a good one.  Continue to work on balance with your life and those clients.  It will come.

Ladies the trip to NC went as well as could be expected.  It was probably fortunate that my mother was in the car because it forced me to stop more frequently for potty breaks.  I took her to the urologist when we got back to NC.  He increased the dosage of Vesicare but indicated that there's not much else they can do for Mom other than Botox injections to the ureter and bladder.  Augh!  I did meet with the nurse who directs the home care services at Mom's facility.  She will start putting her meds into a container for Mom.  Mom is not happy about it but she's showing more signs of confusion about her meds and I just don't want a call that she has over medicated herself.

As we drove I bought Powerball tickets in each state that was selling them.  As you well know, I didn't win.  So now on the way back I started purchasing them again.  It will be interesting to watch what happens this Wednesday.

I know I am leaving someone out on the mentions please forgive me, I lurked last week so it's all jumbled in my mind.  Thoughts and hugs to all of you!

Good morning Jeannie and everyone........

Jeannie.... you enjoy this last week of less commotion. The following week will be so busy!! But then, you excel at times like that!!

As for me..... I slept pretty well last night. Not quite as restful as the night before but I will take it!

I see my Psychiatrist at 2:30 today. My ride will be here at 2:00. I have some important things to talk to him about.  I have been his client for close to 30 years. I have a  lot of trust and faith in him.  We have gotten through some rough times.

I finally got my coffee made and sat in my rocker. I went to put it on the table and my hand jerked and open and there went my 16 ounce cup of coffee!! I know I can't use that hand for holding things anymore. Sometimes, like this, I forget. At least my ceramic mug didn't break. I cleaned that mess up off the carpet. Then I went in the kitchen and started all over again. Finally sitting down and my coffee is safely on the table next to my chair. Awwwwwwww!!!

I hope all is going well for Judy today. I will be watching for messages. Lots of prayers this morning.

I hate to go outside today. The temp is better then yesterday but not by much. -5 now with a windchill of -16. Hight today will be 5.

Stephanie made it back safely to Montana last evening. She kept in touch with me all the way. She said she feels so loved. She is now on the list of special people that must contact me when traveling. Only daughters and grandchildren are on that list! Nic was pretty sad last night. He kept telling me where she was and when she made it home. I didn't tell him she was too.

Trying my best to eat better. I am going through my chest freezer and deciding which family member gets what. I will keep my soups and chilis. They will all be here on the 23rd. It is their father's family Christmas. They are required to be there!!

Prayers for our amazing OFF Family and their families, Special prayers for those in need.

Have a good rest of the day!!  I will check back in later. I will reply to other posts when I get back. I took my shower and now I need to get dressed.

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Good Afternoon Jeannie and OFF,

We got a little snow Saturday and Sunday night.  Just enough to close school, and cover my walkways, again.  My neighbor came and cleared my walks, and said he'd do my driveway later.  Also, since I was almost out of salt, I asked if he could pick up more when he goes out, which he did.  He is so kind.  Since I have an appointment tomorrow, I want to make sure I don't kill myself getting from my door to the car.  I'm going back to the hematologist, this time to meet with the doctor, and go over my blood work.  I'm I might need the iron infusions again.  It's been two years, and I've been more tired than usual.

I still haven't finished unpacking, so I have some more to do in my bedroom.  I'm trying to stay off the foot as much as I can, but must get that done sooner or later.

While Colleen's classes start this week, she's already started visiting the schools where her student teachers are.

Praying for Judy.

Hugs,

Trish

Hi everyone. Just stopping by to say hello.

I have had the worst sinus infection. Went to the doctor Friday and got antibiotics. Had dark swollen bags under my eyes. Feeling a bit better today, but still lightheaded.

Hang in there everyone. I was going to buy a Powerball ticket but just read that I have a better chance of getting hit by an asteroid than winning. Or getting hit by lightning while drowning. Well that's interesting.

Take care everyone. Love and hugs to all.

Hi All,

I'm late getting on and don't have that much to say. I'm doing lots of coloring today because it helps me to stay calm. I'm just having an up and down week. Tomorrow I have a pedicure in Modesto so that will give me a chance to look for more of my favorite coloring pens. They are kind of expensive but they really work well.

It sounds like most of you are doing pretty well. I love the food conversations. I'm actually going to try a couple of vegetarian days a week...I am feeling very good about my progress on my goals. That was a great idea Jeannie.

Julia,

Thank you so much. What type of pens do you use?  I bought a really cool coloring book the other day but it is made out of really absorbent paper so that I cannot use the markers. I am using the pencils, which I love, and I have a variety of colors, but I like seeing what others are using too.  I am glad you are making progress at keeping up with your objectives.
