Good Morning Carla, and all to follow!6:12 for me - the dog woke me up because he needed to go out, now I'm up.  Took him out, and made coffee, which I'm enjoying now.  I must have two cups when I get up - I can't "get going" until I've had my first sip.

My computer is starting to "act up" on a regular basis - may have to replace it.  I've been in the planning stages for a long time to go to Best Buy to get some advice - have been putting it off until after the holidays - so I think the time has come, before the compute dies on me.  I want to reduce my internet/cable/phone expenses down as far as I can.  Right now I have the "Charter Bundle" for everything, which costs about $250 a month.  I also have Netflix and just got Amazon Prime, and a cheap Tracphone.  Also, sitting in a box somewhere is an 0oma phone.  My plan was to keep my internet, eliminate cable and use Netflix and Amazon Prime, and connect the Oom a, and keep the Tracphone for emergencies.  Would cost me (I believe) around $90-$1OO a month, but I want to see if I can put a better "package" together for myself.  Maybe an outside antenna that would be able to pull in some Boston tv stations, and a computer notebook with Windows instead of Chrome, which I've bee dissatisfied with for ages.  I am technically ignorant, and I've heard Best Buy is a good place to go for advice.

Well, Pookie has been enjoying my revised "Protein First" eating program - he gets some tasty left-overs.  Last night I made two roast beef roll-ups - each had a piece Romaine, two paper thin slices of roast beef, with a slice of provolone cheese.  Ate most of the first roll-up and felt full, so I stopped.  So Pookie got the rest as a treat.  He has been getting lots of treats lately - pork chop scraps and chicken mostly, and beef once in a while.

Not much planned for today - putting away Christmas....two small table-top trees, some window decorations and a wreath,  I just do a little decorating - mostly for Taylor's benefit.  After that, a little picking-up.....

Hope you all have a good day.

Mary

Mary...be careful feeding your dog all those leftover people foods...NOT good for him. Can lead to him having internal problems down the road. Just saying.

And THANKYOU for the scarf!!! I am so sorry for not thanking you before this!!! Just busy and forgetting!!!  Was very thoughtful of you to do that!!!!

Mary,

Sounds like you are off to a great start. When I ate meat, I loved meat roll-ups. I still make roll-ups but make them with vegetables and cheese. I hope the motivation continues and it sure sounds like your pouch is responding appropriately.

Good Morning Carla and OFF,

I am finally home, and had my first decent night's sleep since I left.  Now that I have the Fitbit, I can track how much sleep I get, including how many times I was restless, or was awake during the night.

Came home to the ground covered with snow, with a layer of ice underneath it.  Then, this morning Colleen took me to get Utley.  I'm finally home, and can relax.

I plan to watch some football.  Penn State is playing at noon.  Not sure what the rest of the day holds.  I do have to unpack, and tidy.  This place is a disaster in the worst way.

Must scoot.

Hugs,

Trish

Trish,

I hate to travel because there is nothing like sleeping in my own bed. I can stay in the most expensive hotel in the world and have the best bed and still not sleep worth a crap. When I have gone over to the Middle East, I have been fortunate to have the folks pay for me a good first class flight and my hotel accommodations always come with a personal person who checks on me often, makes me tea, pulls my covers back, and provides with anything I need. But, it's not my own bed...you know?  I always put unpacking off as long as I can.  Rest up.

Judy,

I like doing the abstract art but I know they have some that are of animals and other more concrete types of pages to color. If you have a Barnes and Noble or other book store, check their stock out and you can also order them from Amazon and Barnes and Noble.  I swear I am addicted. I'm sending my DH to the store to pick me up some more fine tip markers.  I like using the colored pencils and for some of the more complicated pieces, I want to use the markers.

I can tell you that my psychologists told me it was a great stress reliever and I thought, yeah right! I'm always skeptical because I run on such a stressful life just with the crap my daughter puts me through but then I have a high stews job and you add to that my DH's medical and my own medical conditions and you can see why I need something. But, this morning, I was coloring lines after lines of this abstract thing and suddenly I felt tears coming down my cheeks. I am not depressed but I think this mediation that comes with coloring is helping remove all those negative emotions so I cry.

You have a very high stressed life as well and finding something that you can do that will help you relax while putting your mind at ease will help you to get your endorphins back in check and over time, your metabolism should start moving toward taking off fat instead of storing it. Just don't over do it because I do and my wrists start hurting. I can color with either my left or right hand since I am both handed (I was born left handed by my first grade teacher would not allow us to use our left hand, so she tied my left hand down to my side so I had to learn to use my right hand or be like Joe, a boy in my class, who was spanked often for not adapting) and both of my wrists are a little sore....

I hope you find your book. I will look too.

I love coloring and I mainly love to do horses but finding horses to color anymore is a job in its self!!!!!! Coloring books just are not like they were when we were kids!!!

Thanks for answering me!!!
