Good Morning Ladies.......

It's Tuesday, and usually at this time (7:40) I'd be leaving to go to the food pantry to help pack and distribute food boxes -- but all night I could hear the freezing rain/sleet outside, and when I opened the door this morning, there was a thin layer of snow, covered with ice.  No way am I going out until roads are clear.  Weatherman says it will continue until around 11:00.  Roads have not been treated with sand yet.  Snow doesn't bother me, but ice scares me.  Thank goodness I don't have to get to a job anymore!

Well, I got an interesting call last night.  Jim's Aunt Mona called me from Arizona last night.  I met her several years ago when she lived near Boston.  Jim and I visited her several times and she was a wonderful woman - I loved spending time with her.  But -- Jim managed to destroy his relationship with her, and our contact stopped.  She just learned that Jim passed.  She and I had hit it off so well - she has invited me to visit her in Arizona - and if I want to, she says I could live with her rent free.  She lives in an elderly community and her place has two bedrooms and two baths.  Lots of social activity - she is always on the go.  It's a very tempting offer - because I have come to hate Winter - even though I can stay in during bad weather.  She says cost of living is much lower there.

I would go in a minute - except I couldn't leave Maura and Taylor.  I always worry about Maura because she's an "only child" and has no other family, except for cousins in NY and CA.

Also, Mona is 73 years old....she's in excellent health as far as I know, but I think to myself what happens if her health fails?  Morbid thinking maybe, but realistic.  Mona tells me there's lots of men there, if I'm ever interested!  She's a hoot - and I know I'd be happy there, but...???

So, I'm going to look into airfares and probably go for a visit.....Maura says I should go visit, she'll take care of the dog, etc.

Lots to think about!

Hope all of you are doing okay....prayers and good wishes to all.

Mary

Good afternoon Jeannie and everyone....

I woke up at 7:30 to be ready for my 10:30 appointment with Fran. We went to the bank and spent some time at the dollar store. Then we were off to get grocery. My chills are gone and my fever was gone but is back now. My cleaning fairy is on vacation. Laura just got here. She put the laundry in and is putting clean linens on the bed. I need her to do a good job of dusting. Melissa didn't do well last week. She was sick.

I wish you'll a good day!!  Keeping you all in my thoughts.

Prayers for our loving OFF Family and their families. Special prayers as requested. I have so many friends that are in the path of that storm. I continue to keep them in my prayers.

I love you all....hugs!

Good morning,

To paraphrase a famous movie line: I see sick people!  OMG.  Everyone around me is falling apart.

My poor mother is sick.  She's got the vertigo and has had it for a couple of days.  She just "let on" about it yesterday when it got so bad she couldn't stand up and walk.  She's still wobbly today, but won't hear of going to the doctor.  We're supposed to leave for Nacogdoches tomorrow, but I can't go off and leave my mom here alone and have her suffer a fall.  I'm already making contingency plans for our trip.  We could wait and leave on Thursday maybe.  Or maybe not.

Carrie is sick.  She doesn't feel well at all.  She's having intense nausea.  Even if she doesn't actually throw up (which she does with alarming frequency), she FEELS like she's going to throw up all the time.  She spends most of her days here lying down and sleeping.  From the anti-nausea meds?  Maybe.  I don't know.  She's miserable and she's just now entering the really tough part of being big-pregnant.  I feel so sorry for her.

Budder is sick.  I took him to the doctor yesterday.  Her diagnosis is "cedar fever" which is a real thing in this part of Texas.  Cedar trees are everywhere here.  I told her about how hard it is to get medicine down that child, and she prescribed a new chewable Cingular and there is now a chewable baby Zyrtec.  I sent Chris a text this morning but haven't heard back from her.  I sure hope he took his medicine.  That baby is miserable.

So, I have three miserable people in my family this morning.  Oh, and of course the dog is still hacking and coughing, too.  Geez.

I am doing okay.  Still have the joint and muscle aches and pains, but I can function and for the most part I just ignore them.  They're there.  I deal.  The end.

Well, I have a lot to do today IF we're leaving tomorrow.  It's cold here today.  I think we had a light freeze last night.  They were predicting a low of 33 F.  But my flowers are still blooming on the back porch this morning.  Gotta love South Texas.

I'll check back in later today.  Oh, and I'm going to post my little New Year's Tale today.  A bit premature, but if we do get on the road tomorrow, I won't have another chance.

Love you all!

Hi Jeannie and my OFF family:

Got up early to go to the Y but my tummy started feeling nasty and then I started to get the drowsies again; took an hour nap in my recliner. So I did laundry at least and called my mom. She's feeling lonely because my oldest brother Ed is going to Arizona for a month and now the only one up there to visit her is my sister (who isn't quite so reliable at visiting, although she has been visiting more now that she's in the assisted living center). And I'm too far away, of course, so all I can do is call.

At least it's not raining buckets today. I do have a chiro appointment. Then I have to go to the store for a few things.

Vickie, I hope Carrie is going to be OK. You sure are dealing with a lot of stress.

Mary, the trip to Arizona sounds like a good deal. You could see if you liked it first.

Well, I need to get the laundry out. Have a good day.

Good Afternoon Jeannie and OFF,

I didn't sleep well, and then drank too much coffee.  Plus, I lost a medication for my sinuses.  I've searched the room I'm staying in multiple times.

I got my haircut, and then met my sister at a diner next door.  Then, Kathy came back, and all three of us talked.

When we got back I organized my clothes, and started packing the short sleeve tops I brought for last week.  We now have winter in southeast PA.  No snow but cold and rain.

Must scoot.

Hugs,

Trish

Hello OFF family,

I had to take the ex ex to the doctor today. I woke up with the worst neck pain and back pain I have ever had. I have no idea why. Time to get a orthopedic pillow, I guess. I felt so disoriented driving him to the doctor that I started having anxiety and had to pull over for a bit. Still in a lot of pain.

Mary, wouldn't it be nice to not have to suffer through winter any more. But alas, you have family to think of. Not an easy choice for sure.

Vicki, I am so sorry everyone is so sick. Mom, Budder an especially your daughter. That poor woman. I hope all of them feel better soon. For your daughter it cannot be much fun being in the 3rd trimester carrying a close to full term infant and constantly vomiting. As for the dog, could it be allergies? It depends on the dog's age. In old dogs coughing is a sign of heart problems.

Have a great day, and follow your heart regarding your upcoming visit.

Eileen, I think it is great you go to the Y, maybe not today, but you do go. I got a gym membership from the city here and have been there one time. Shame on me. And I gained 7 plus pounds during Christmas. Double shame on me. Hope your weather clears up.

Patricia, have a great day. I hate losing my sinus medication; I get so stuffed up I get vertigo.

To Judy, and all to come, have a great day. Connie, hope you are feeling better.

I just wish this pain would go away. If it doesn't I will have to go see a dr. Meanwhile I am buying an orthopedic head and neck pillow. I have to realize I am not young any more. And I wish the anxiety would not come at the most inopportune times. I take meds, but still get it sometimes.

Love you all. Take care, stay warm.

Vicki, I loved your story. You should publish your work.

xoxo

Arlene
