Good Morning OFF,

I'm up early to go with Kathy to take Neil to work, and then she's taking me to see the psychiatrist I've been going to for practically forever.  He fills out my disability retirement paperwork.

I have some packing to do today.  Then, tomorrow, I'm heading to my friend, Ellen's, for the night.  From there, I'll head to the airport on Friday to go home.  It's been a good visit, but I'm missing my doggy and my bed.

Mom and Eileen were here last night for dinner.  Then, Eileen went to Bingo, and Mom, Kathy and I played Scrabble.

Must scoot.

Hugs,

Trish

Hi Trish and those of you to come later. I love having dogs but you do miss them and worry a bit when you vacation. It's a great reason to come home! I just had to get up and help my two retrieve balls that had gone under a chair....?

We are done with the Christmas celebrations and I am starting to gear up for taking it down. I simplified a lot this year....only one tree, not nearly as much decor in the house. I talked to Laura about whether she is ready to inherit some decorations and she is! She has room to store them and we can carry bins across the street! Easy! It will be a big job of course. I have to go through and decide what I want to keep for the next ten years and then she needs to decide what she wants from my discards. The rest can go to friends or Salvation Army.

We were invited to a New Years Eve party, a 40th birthday surprise for a good friend. I'm sure it will be fun. I haven't been to a New Years party in a couple of years.

I need to get a birthday gift today. I know what I'm getting so it isn't taxing my mind too much. But I need to get my butt in motion.

Oh, one more thing. The news feed said that we have some weather occurance that could "possibly" make the Northern Lights visible from the Bay Area which is where I am. I would be so happy to see that! It would be a big first for me!

Happy Wednesday all!

Good afternoon Trish and everyone to follow.....

I hope everyone is well and that things are going smoothly for you.

I am so relieved to have my Christmas decorations packed up!! I did it last night when I couldn't sleep. I took the totes back to my storage unit this morning. I couldn't stand them sitting around. Done until next year!

I was out sitting with the ladies for a bit working on a puzzle. It was something to do. The puzzle had a lot of beautiful colors. It was a Christmas puzzle.  Everyone wanted to get it done as we are all sick of looking at them. They have been doing Christmas puzzles since before Thanksgiving!!

I am finally getting a little energy back. I did pretty good all morning. I puttered around doing odds and ends like filling soap dispensers and the dish soap dispenser. Napkin and paper towel holders and on and on. I want to color for a little while later on. I am winding down now.

I need to make some lunch and then take a little nap.

Prayers for all our special OFF Family and their families. Special prayers as requested.

I wish you all a great day!! I will check back in later.

Loads of love and many hugs to you all....connie d

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

I'm off to a great start today. Made a Lean Cuisine for lunch, couldn't find my fork, set it aside to get up for a new fork, the lunch went down on the ground ... well, that's that, I guess I make a new one. I could've eaten it, I guess .... only the salisbury steak fell out and I had it back in within five seconds, but it just didn't look very appetizing after that. So I made sesame chicken from the freezer after that.

Then after eating, I went to register online with the apartment complex so I could pay rent online. (I have checks, I just prefer to do as much as possible online.) Well, there's no place to register. So I called the office, the woman there sent me the info and a password. Still couldn't do it. Called her back, she's out of the office. Waiting for her to call me back.

I didn't even bother getting up early this morning. Slept til 11 a.m. Feel so much better. It's still gray and gloomy out. I didn't do much of anything last night. I watched some basketball and played solitaire on my tablet.

I have to work tonight because I swapped days off with my coworker Jim. He's going to the Music City Bowl, in Nashville ... Louisville's in it, which is his team. Jim is one of the folks who took the buyout. So Thursday is his last day.

Well, not much else happening. Hope everyone is well. Connie, glad  you are feeling better.

Good afternoon Trish and OFF-

Well one more bird count for this year and then I'm done for a week.  Mom went with me again today.  Everything was fine until the power window broke on the driver side.  That meant the window would not go all the way down nor would it go back up.  So as with all things government, I adapted.  The worst part was driving back to depot with the window down halfway.  I am definately sporting the windblown look today.

Trish glad your visit is going well.  Hope your travel home goes smoothly with all this crazy weather.  I was reading a report today that the temperature in the North Pole later this week will be above freezing for the first time in recorded history.

Julia happy to read that your daughter will take some of your ornaments.  I culled a lot of mine when I unpacked them and decorated the tree.  I expect that I will cull more when I take the tree down.

Connie, I'm so glad you felt better today.  I can relate to puzzles that linger too long.  My father loved puzzles.  Every year it was a challenge to find the most difficult ones for him for Christmas.  When my mother moved she donated almost 100 puzzles to the library and various places around town.

So today I got the damage and missing claim filed with the moving company.  It was all done online.  We'll see if I get lucky and they find the missing box.  If not, it's a sign that I was meant to not have that button hook collection anymore.  The important part of the collection made it through the move.

Not much else to report from Texas.  Haven't had major battles over the thermostat as I just wear my shorts and tops while Mom bundles up.  I'll reset it to my comfort when I return from taking her back to NC.  Looking at the weather, we probably won't leave until Sunday which gives us plenty of time to get to her place for her Thursday doctors appointment.

Thoughts and hugs to all of you!

Hi Ladies,

I just been puttering around today. I did take my Christmas stuff down and put away. I'm just tired today. The weather isn't helping. Doom and gloom at least quit snowing.

Thoughts and prayers  for everyone.

Love and hugs,

Yvonne

Trish and Ladies,

We drove down the mountain yesterday evening to pick up our grandson. I cannot believe how much the river has spilled over. On our way back from getting our grandson, we decided to go into Fort Smith and get some starbucks (the kids hot chocolate, DH diabetic chocolate, and me coffee) and we noticed how far the river had backed up onto one of the main streets and then, there were cars and trucks stalled on one side of the street where there was a lot of water and cars were in front of me and behind me so I couldn't turn around and then the water that was rushing on the side soon was going across the street...the truck in front of me was deep in the water and I couldn't back up and knew if I stopped, we would surely stall...the kids were telling me to turn around and DH kept saying you gotta stop and I said, listen...you guys please be quiet and I drove through water that went up my door almost to my window...yes and I just knew the damn car was going to stall and we were going to float away...there were rescue vehicles and police cars on the side trying to help those who did stall and surprisingly, we made across and up the hill a bit where the street was completely dry...then forward for coffee and hot cocoa. Let me say that I was very nervous. The AR river is almost up to the bridge because not only have we had days of heavy rains but also the folks who control the rivers and damns around the US decided to stop some of OK's flooding by opening some of their locks and damns which caused a massive wave of flooding...on the river, boat docks broke loose and were floating down river and campers and other large objects. I just knew one was going to hit the bridge support and we would all fall down....today the sun is out so hopefully we will get rid of some of this water.

The kids loved their Christmas gifts and of course they loved their laptops and Mathew said when he saw the TV we bought him, he screamed so loud...and of course we got the granddaughter a new iPod.  We way overspent on our grand babies but I taught an extra class so that I cold have extra money, but we talked to the kids and explained that next year, we want them to think of one really good gift and one really good charitable organization...they have to do research all year and give us a report and next Christmas, we are donating money in their names in the charity they choose.  We spoil our grandkids so much and I spoiled my kids and I am afraid that too much is not good.  So next year, they will get one good gift and maybe a couple of small gifts and after that...they are learning about giving.

This evening, I am taking a break...DH is taking the kids to the theater so I can have a break...I am counting the minutes until he gets off work and I am alone....yeah!

Ladies, please have a good day...get some rest and take some time to pamper yourself. When the kids and DH take off for the theater, I am doing a much needed facial. I cannot wait...my skin is in such a bad condition because I have totally neglected my skin for the last couple of weeks.

Anyway, back to research and laundry. I do not know how we dirty up so many towels in this little apartment but we sure do...I do love folding towels...they are always so soft.

Check you all out later.

Afternoon OFF family...Not sure what is going on with me I feel so darn tired!!! Maybe its my blood being gone? Maybe its the yucky weather? I just feel like going to sleep!!!

Rick had to go into one of the flea bags apartments to change a bulb in the refrigerator...he sprayed himself good before going inside!!! LMAOOOO had to wash his clothes right after wards to get that spray off...so I washed them and then put them in the dryer...while they were drying I had time to go get Bandits new license and stop at the store. On the way I passed where Chase lives...WTH? His truck was in his drive way!!!! I got to first stop and called Rick and asked where Chase was. He said in an apartment working. Wanna bet? I told him his truck was home!!!! He said he would call and find out. So I got my stuff done came home and Rick said Chase forgot he had to pick up the kids today. I asked him what time did he leave? Chase told him 3:45. BS!!!!!!! I saw his truck at home at 3:30 so he had to have left BEFORE that even!!!!!!!! We are going to have it out tomorrow morning!!!!!!!! OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!! I have had ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!

Anyhow good news today I got a new tenant. She will be moving here from S Carolina. Her husband died a couple weeks ago and her daughter wants her here. She is 88!!!!!! OMG.

Tomorrow I am closing up at 4 then off the rest of week til Monday 8 am. Trees will come down then. Sick of looking at them.
