TGIF Where is Everybody?

Good morning sistas,

I didn't think I was going to be able to log on this morning.  Some weird gremlin attacked my computer this morning.  Don't ask me!  It said the computer couldn't communicate with the wireless. WTH?  I don't know.  Everything else connected to the wireless was working fine.  I rebooted this dumb computer three times before it finally decided to cooperate.

Well, I called the key guy and the thingamabob to find my lost smart key didn't arrive, so we now have to wait until Monday.  But now I'm paranoid about my car battery going dead, so I run out there and start the car and let it run 15 minutes at a time every morning and every afternoon.

I am finally, finally wrapping presents this morning.  Whew.  I just do NOT like to wrap presents.  AT ALL.  Connie, darlin', where are you when I need you?  LOL!

I also did a little more decorating around the house.  I set up my snowpeople on my dining room table.  I hung my stained glass ornaments in my windows.  I scattered a few more decorative figurines and things around the living room.  Not a full, all out job, but at least it looks like Christmas in here now.

I made up the boys' Christmas Eve boxes and they turned out so cute!  I saw the idea on FB.  Each box has pajamas, house shoes, hot cocoa, popcorn, a new mug, and movies.  Oh, and a special Christmas book for bedtime.  I bought these big beautiful lidded boxes at Tuesday Morning and plan to keep them here and reuse them each year, so I added the boys' names to their boxes.  Next year I'll add one for Caralee.  Here's a pic:

So I move forward, one little step at a time.  Christie is still not talking to me.  I'll let it ride a few more days.  But I am not going to let her ruin Christmas for everyone just because she's mad at me.  I don't want to put Carrie in the middle again if I can help it, but she may have to play negotiator again.

Connie, why are you having a bone scan?  Trish, you are working hard to make your family's Christmas work for everyone. I just hope it works for YOU!  Carla, safe travels today.  Eileen, I hope you will be okay on your own without Gary, but I'm glad he's going to get to see his family in Texas.  Judy, when do you leave to go home and see your mom?  Mary, you are doing so much good with your volunteer work.  Good for you!  Shoot.  Now I can't think of who else I was going to address.  Oh, well.  Love you all!

Vic,

I love the boxes. Your boys will have many years of Christmas memories.  You know, I have wrapped all the gifts, but I have not put up one decoration.

You will make it through this and next year, it will be easier not a breeze but easier. Your strength amazes me.

Hi Vickie....I am in too much pain to post much.

My bone scam I get every three years because of the RNY. Plus because of my falls. They want to see what is going on with my bones.

I love the boys Christmas boxes!! For someone that can't wrap you sure do an excellent job!!

I need to go for now...med and bed time.

I am sorry I couldn't answer every one. I just can't.

Love and many more hugs...connie d

I love the boxes, Vickie. You really do work hard to make the holidays special for your grandsons. They are lucky little boys.

I will be fine without Gary, but I will miss him. Sunday, I'm going up to the Chicago area to spend the day with my family. We're meeting at an Olive Garden for the party, then we'll go back to mom's assisted living center to open gifts. Then I'll go back to my brother Ed's and SIL Margaret's home in Sycamore (about a half hour away) to spend a couple of days (maybe just one, since Juliette's alone ... haven't decided yet). I'm off until Thursday.

Everyone have a good weekend. Stories are coming in. Got to go.

hi Vickie,

Love the Christmas Eve gift boxes and the idea.

I finished my Christmas shopping, and all I asked for is that I have all my kids there. Once in Pennsylvania I'll be

able to relax. I biggest challenge is getting there.

I'm worried about Mom.  She needs a medication adjustment. Tried to discuss it with Eileen, and she got angry, and hostile. Colleen asked me if I had thought about moving back there to help with Mom's care. I told her that wasn't an option, but I am thinking about going out there for a long visit, to try to coordinate better care somehow.

I'm tying on my phone, in case there are typos.

Love you.

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Hi I'm home and doing things around here!!! Waiting for a call from the hospital to tell me what time I need to be there in Wednesday.

I got home about 9pm from the airport. It was a long day of travel. That was Thursday. Today we went to SAMs Club to walk around!

Carla,

I got to Sams to pick up the big containers of pretzels.  I rarely buy anything else there and my DH says why do we pay for the membership and I say for the big containers of pretzels. LOL....
