Saturday Before Christmas
Good afternoon Trish and OFF-
Trish- sorry you're hurting again hope it resolves soon. I'm happy that you have been able to arrange for all the transport you need until you travel to PA. Hope everything goes smoothly.
Jeannie- I too cannot wait until you write about the helicopter ride. That should be a fantastic experience for your grands.
Vickie- sorry Christie is giving you the silent treatment but at the same time I'm happy she has made arrangements for someone to care for the boys. You have so much on your plate, I just don't think it's fair that she heavily relies on you for babysitting. I do understand what you and Jeannie are experiencing as my grandmother was bipolar. I have two friends with bipolar disease. One went 30 years before finally getting treatment. The other has been in treatment for quite some time. I also have another friend who's daughter is bipolar. My friend spend over $200K after her husband passed away trying to detox and rehab her daughter. Yes because in addition to being bipolar she was addicted to Xanax and alcohol. It was a horrible year for my friend and her daughter treated her like manure! So I agree with Jeannie, you don't have to put up with it and you should be allowed to grieve as well. I would also hate it if the boys began to be mean to you because of the example they see from their mother. Nuf said I'll step off the soap box.
Connie - I'm glad the doctor checked you out okay. I was worried. I have to say that I also smiled when I read that she chewed you out. I hope that the pain won't be too extreme.
Well ladies, it has been a busy week with my Mom here. She has been making me unpack boxes and put things away. She's also been going with me everywhere. Each night she has gone with me to water fitness and no more critiques about my teaching since I shut her down on Monday. She climbed into a Ford Expedition and rode with me to count birds on Thursday and Friday. She can't see them but yesterday she got to hear 8000 snow geese that were on one of my observation points.
She did give me a scare Thursday. She fell in her bedroom and I couldn't get her off the floor. I ended up calling a friend whose boyfriend came over and helped me lift her off the floor. Then later that night she let out a blood curdling scream and woke me up. She was having a nightmare! I was starting to have a heart attack.
I've done some baking this week as I went to a cookie exchange party at the hospital. Today I made my favorite cookie, fruitcake cookies. I'll make some fudge tomorrow because Mom loves fudge. The tree is decorated and I am getting the Christmas spirit, however, they are forecasting high seventies maybe even 80 for Christmas day. I would prefer cooler temps.
Well I think I've updated you all on everything. Going to relax a bit now before I fix dinner for Mom and I. I'm oven roasting green beans and serving then with over roasted cauliflower and brisket for dinner.
Hugs and thoughts to all of you. Looking forward to reading Christmas stories this week.

Hi Cindi....Your mom is having a great time with you!! All those adventures...8000 snow geese!!! Sounds like she keeps you hopping too!! I am glad your mom didn't break anything when she fell. I am glad you found help with getting her up off the floor!
Yes I laughed when my doctor lectured me. I laughed because she was having a hard time keeping a straight face herself. We always laugh about something. Glad you got a chuckle out of it too!!
I would gladly trade you weather....I would love 80 degrees!! It would make my body feel so much better. The forecast for Christmas day is 36. That isn't bad for this time of year.
Your meal sounds so good. I love roasted veggies and brisket too. You are such a good cook your mom may never want to leave!!
Have a good evening...love and hugs.....connie d
