Good Tuesday Morning!!!
Hello Eileen...so sorry you have a cold!! Good thing you stayed home today. You are right, these things spread pretty easily!! I hope you have good cold meds to take so you feel better soon. I will say some prayers for you.
So Gary quit his job. It must have been not right for him. I hope he finds something else soon. He sure does like to keep busy.
It is so nice of Gary to get things for you when you need it. You don't need to be out in the sick public that way!!
Try to have a relaxing evening...love you...HUGS....connie d

Hello Yvonne....I am sorry about your day yesterday. I hope all is figured out with your friend's problems. Try not to get wrapped up in it! Sending prayers your way.
I had to rest most of the rest of my afternoon. I just had lunch at 3:30 so tonight for dinner I will just be a protein drink.
Wishing you a good evening...love you ....hugs....connie d
Howdy Everyone!
Sorry I have been MIA! I started my new job orientation this week and am there from 8am-3:30pm. They go through all the company's policy & procedure manuals so it is very detailed yet well organized. I gotta tell you though....kinda like Mary with the church coffee situation...I kinda feel like the odd man out. there are about 15 of us in he training and I think I m the oldest. Most are in their 40's...some even younger. I referred to my supervisor by the wrong name, can't figure out all the damn keys...since it's a psych hospital all doors are locked, and my hearing is such it is hard to hear what ppl are saying in the cafeteria!!! I just feel SO old! On top of that most of my dress clothes hang on me completing the old 'bag lady' picture!!!I can't wait to start driving on Friday!
This past weekend we put up our Christmas decorations...kinda not in the mood, but like you other mom's and grandmother's gotta do it for the kids. I do enjoy the cheery and cozy difference it makes so I am glad I did it!
I am realizing that in my 18 months off from working a ton of stuff I had ante to get done didn't so I have Jim back on the honeydo lists. He is really pretty good about them so hopefully some progress will be made. Poor guy is having a lot of pain in his knees and the phantom pain in his leg from this freezing weather. (Vickie, your post about a Texas Christmas/winter was NOT funny!) I hate the cold. Plus, he is still having that mysterious lower back pain every morning when he gets up...like a kidney stone. They have done an MRI and other tests and they are saying it is arthritis! I don't think so! Don't know what to do for him...
I will never be able to remember what everyone posted so here's the short version...
Christine, so glad to see you back again! Your FB pic at your HS reunion looked wonderful. I have ben skimming thru FB, but have barely had time to hit the like button. Anyhow, you seem very hppy and content, and that I what we want for each other!
Vickie, I think I mentioned this before, but waching 2 young kids that often would e too exhausting for me, and then I saw you holding Budder at one of those outtings and you wonder why you are hurting??Like I said earlir about myself I feel old, but the bottom line is WE ARE GETTING OLDER! We can't do the things we di 5 or 10 years ago without some kind of consequence. Take care of yourself...you really run yourself ragged!
Connie, how did you chip your tooth? Sorry if I did not see your response to Jeannie about this, but I hope it was not during a fall. Isn't it sad when our kids and grandkids no longer believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny, etc.? Seems the timespan for childhood is getting shorter and shorter anymore...
May, I agree you are doing an awesome job with your house, and taking big steps with meeting the old friend and volunteering at the Food Bank. They were advertising fo volunteers in our area b/c of the rush of donations for Christmas!
Cindi B., you are another one running all over the place! I don't know how you had time to regain...lol...as you don't seem to have time to eat! My poor mother hated my weight...I was the only one in the family who was fat. She was so slim and small boned. She didn't comment on it a lot, but I FELT it. And I remember her warning me I 'might become sloppy fat!' which would have been the ultimate embarrassment! Mind you, I never said anything about her drinking....her addiction. Being heavy...the last acceptable prejudice. I hate it!
CONGRATULAIONS, Carla! That is great news! I wonder, though, how Vinnie will like having to share her Gramm!
Judy, sorry to hear your mom is back in the hospital. Praying al goes well..
Well, I know have forgotton ppl, but I gotta get off and take care of Jazz.
Love you all!
Kathy
Hello Kathy ...my ray of Sunshine...
Sorry you are feeling like a old lady at your new job. You aren't there to be worry about what others think. They hired you on your work standards and experience. You always look very nice. I am sure you notice the baggy clothes more then anyone. Soon you can drive and get out an shop for some smaller clothes. Right now as long as you have clean hair, body, and don't smell bad you are no different then anyone else. I am sure the younger employees wish they were you!! You know a lot and they know very little. If anything you probably intimidate them!! Seriously!!!!
I still haven't gotten my decorations up. I hope tomorrow is a better day. Maybe not though because I am signed up to go with a group to Walmart tomorrow morning. What was I thinking. I will get home in time for Melissa to come here for cleaning and such. Maybe Thursday or Friday will be better to decorate. I will have to see how things go. I am sure your decoration and tree looks lovely!!
I am also praying Jim's pain goes away soon. Especially in his back. That is so miserable!!
I was in a hurry and grabbed a glass of water, in a heavy glass, and accidentally hit my tooth. It isn't too big a chip but I can feel it!! It is driving me crazy!!!!!
Yes, Gracie not believing in Santa really hit me hard. She is my only baby girl right now.
You enjoy the rest of your evening....I am going to get a movie started and relax the rest of the night!!
I love you ...I miss you....HUGS....connie d
Hi Ladies ---- what a great day I had. Got to the Food Share at 11:30, and got home at 7:30 - Exhausted but very happy. I spent the day peeling/chopping/dicing fruits and veggies for tonight's dinner. What a menu - pea soup w/ bread and butter, tossed salad, American Chop Suey, baked glazed ham, green bean casserole, glazed carrots, mashed potatoes and for desert apple cobble with fresh whipped cream and coffee. Everyone was very nice and I recognized some of the other people from church. It felt good to spend time with other people cooking in a nice kitchen that has a sink and stove that work. The fellow who runs the dinners is the owner of a popular restaurant here in town. They served over 100 people, and everything went very smoothly. AJ, the fellow in charge, told someone else I had a calming effect on him. So most of these same people will be back on Thursday when they will be distributing food - I guess everyone does sorting and packing, and the guys carry the food out to people's cars - they say the boxes are very heavy and a lot of of the clients are disabled and/or elderly.
Tomorrow Maura is having some sort of dental procedure, and needs to be driven home. So I'll be picking her up from work at noon and taking her to the dentist, then driving her home...she will leave her car at work, and in the morning Joe will drive her to work.
Have a good evening everyone -- I'll be hitting the sheets early.
Mary
