Sunny Saturday
Good morning Mary and everyone.....
Mary...sorry about the power outage. I hope you can get up and running again soon! I pray you were able to get some good deep sleep!
Cindi....I pray your trip goes well picking up your mother and coming home again.
I am sure your home is very nice and it isn't as much of a mess as you think it is!! I think your mom will enjoy her visit.
Tri**** is wonderful that your pastor and friends are so caring and checking in with you. It is always nice to know you are important to others.
As for me.... I am just trying to get through this morning. I have been praying most of the morning. Shelby's funeral started about 10 minutes ago. I have a heavy heart today.
Have nothing much planned for today. I am just trying to keep busy with puttering around here. I am going to walk down to my storage unit and one of my wreaths out to put on my door. I need to get my tree up at some point. It is just a small 3 foot tree. That is plenty big for in here. Not really in the mood right now.
Wishing you all a wonderful day!! I love you all!!!!
Prayers for all our loving OFF Family and their families. Special prayers as requested.
I will check back in later to read other posts.
Loads of love and bunches of hugs to all.....connie d
Connie...I am sad that you are sad and I know how you are feeling not being able to go to the funeral...I missed several of my close friends funerals...even my dads...aka my cousins back in January due to the dam weather!!! My heart still breaks when I think about him...gosh we had so much fun tricking people into thinking he was my dad!!! LOL (think it really made his son jealous of our relationship too) Anyhow...just remember that all our friends are now in a much better place than we are!!!! No more having all these "crazy people" to deal with like we do!!!! Know we are all here for you as you are for us!!!
LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Hi Ladies
I'm having a quiet day here. At least it's sunny and supposed to get up to 52 degrees today. Maybe I will take a walk outside since I couldn't finish my exercise this morning just too tired even though I got enough sleep but I feel better now since I had 3 cups of coffee even though it's decaffeinated. Well I guess I better finish my crystal light so I can eat lunch.
Connie sending healing prayers your way.
Thoughts and prayers for everyone. Have a great day.
Love and hugs,
Yvonne

HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Judy,
Good job on drinking water. I think for me after I finally started replacing the coffee and diet cokes with equal amounts of water, I soon realized that the thirst that was always just at the surface was finally being quenched....I measure it out just like right after surgery to make sure I get enough in...you will feel better and your skin will also reflect the good choice.
Saying hi to all.
Vicki, please take it easy. Those grands, especially Budder sound like a handful. Please take some time off to just rest. Yes rest. Your body needs it. You have been going non stop for a while, and your body is saying no! I hope you feel better and the pain goes away. xoxo
Mary, sometimes laptop batteries suck. I am kind of sorry I bought my laptop 2 years ago. My battery lasts 4 hours tops so I constantly keep it plugged in. I should have bought an all in one with the dongle (makes it wifi). Take care dear Mary.
Patricia, your pastor sounds wonderful. I haven't practiced religion for a while. I believe, but being brought up in the Catholic Church made me a guilt ridden person. I may have found a non denominational church I can go to every week and it is nearby.
Judy, hang in there with the tenants.
Connie, sorry about your friend, please take care of yourself. You are very sensitive and feel others pain.
I went to a wedding last evening. The bride and groom are very religious, the groom more so.
They met each other at church, the church I was speaking of earlier. He is the more religious one, and they waited till their wedding night, his choice, to consummate their marriage. 2 beautiful souls. There was so much love at that wedding. My former sister in law, the one I speak of, has such an awesome family. Not much fussing, they are so very close and there is so much love in that family.
Love to all, please know I care and I am sending good vibes and prayers to all. If I forgot anyone, I also have the CRS issue. xo
Hey Mary and the rest of you ladies,
I don't understand the battery thing on laptops. I have always used a Mac and my laptop is a MacBook Pro and I've it for a few years and I charge it for an hour or so on the plug thing and it lasts all day and into the night, unless I watch a movie and the power goes fast but I have a very long plug in thing....
Anyway, we have two of my daughter's three kids and we are taking them to see the Ozark Christmas lights tonight. It is already very dark so we are about to head out....see the lights....take them for hot chocolate....take them to a restaurant for dinner....back home and then we will watch a christmas movie. I will be glad when the holidays are over and life gets back to normal. DH ran to the store to pick up my meds for me and he bought the two little kids (8 and 11) their own laptops that will be their big gift from us....they have tablets and a table top computer and my grandson has an arsenal of old and broken laptops that he has made some primitive running thing so getting them each their own is going to make them both very happy...I give the oldest boy money...he says, no, just money...
Well, now to to get the stocking stuffers and a few little gifts for everyone and I am done...When I was a child, my grandparents rarely bought us any gifts but when they did, it was something very cheap and we all cherished it as if they had spent a fortune but, like many of you, I came from a time when we were given clothes, fruit, and nuts and maybe one little toy for each of us a game for all of us....my mom used her s and h green stamps and gold bond stamps to get our Christmas gifts and I never felt like I was getting less than my cousins and friends who were given so much...I appreciated what I got and loved my little doll and on the first day back to school after christmas break, I took my cheap little doll that my mom and I made clothes for to school and was more proud of her than all my friends were of their expensive dolls. In fact, I remember watching as some of the other girls would just throw their dolls down while they ran off to play and I would never do that to my dolly...I loved her.
Sometimes I think the more we give our grandkids the less they appreciate what we give them...I need to start cutting back because we do spend a fortune on the grandkids.
Well, back again~~
Took a rest and felt much, much better. Went out to K-Mart and Home Depot. Got new curtain rods for living room/kitchen and back bedroom, and curtains for the too, along with a new shower curtain and bath rug. While in the bath area, found a "poncho" towel and bath mitt for Taylor -- has some "character" on them - don't know the name, but Taylor loves everything she gets --also got a few stocking stuffers for her. At Home Depot I got a staple gun because I need to put plastic over the windows to keep out the cold. Also got a yellow flood light for the light by my front door. It had just a regular indoor bulb, and it was too bright. Also got some electric outlet plates.
After my shopping, went to the car and....discovered I had locked my keys in the car! I am so OCD about doing just that-- usually I pat my pockets to make sure I have my keys before I close my house door or car door.....but was distracted I guess. So I called AAA-only had to wait about 25 minutes.
Too stressed to give everyone a shout out - but Jeannie you really brought back some memories when you mentioned S&H Green Stamps and Gold Bond Stamps - my Mom used to save books of them....along with her Raleigh Tobacco coupons!! And also how cherished our gifts were. Mom and Dad worked hard raising five kids - we never had "lavish" Christmases, but they were happy Christmases fulled with love!! I remember one super special gift - a large "doll head" with hair and it came with rollers and pins and combs and brushes so I could style her hair. And I remember the orange in the stockings. When we woke up Christmas Morning our filled stockings would be at the foot of the bed--that's how we knew Santa had come!! Such happy memories...stringing popcorn and cranberries for the tree -- ten popcorn, one cranberry, ten popcorn, one cranberry...... we'd string the whole tree with it.
Got to go....prayers and good wishes to everyone~
Mary
Hi sistas,
Just wanted to pop back on and tell y'all WHAT A BUST our evening was! Holy Moly. We won't do that again.
The pancakes with Santa was a joke! I mean really. The boys didn't know the difference, too much, but I was like WTH? I paid money for THIS? So here are a couple of pics of the boys with Santa. Budder wasn't having any of it. I'm lucky I got even one pic!
And the play wasn't much better. It was a local youth theatre group, which we already knew in advance, but BEFORE the play ever began, we had to sit through an HOUR of individual performances. It was more like a recital than anything else. The boys were incredibly bored before the play ever began. And the play was cute enough, but by that point we were doing anything we could to occupy the boys and keep them quiet.
So, live and learn. We won't do that again.
Carrie and I are flaked out on the couch watching Property Bros. and eating hot soup. High point of the evening. LOL!
Love you all!
Vic that reminds me of the time we took my grandson, who was two at the time, to a high school band recital and he was too young and just was so fussy as were all the other little kids.
Your older grandson will probably have memories of it and he will be so happy when he thinks of you taking him and his brother to the high school play...
We do pick our battles and our plays.
