I can't believe it's Wednesday!!!
I wish there was something I could say or do to change it but listing Butch dies just suck. Especially at the holidays. Put one foot in front of the other... one day at a time... and know we are pulling for you Vickie. Xo

Good Evening Carla and OFF,
I've been AWOL, and have no clue why. I guess I'm in a bit of a funk. I can't complain though. As long as I behave, and keep my foot elevated, I'm relatively pain free. But, I am frustrated not being able to walk, or drive. I try not to spend a lot of time on the laptop so I can spend time reading, or crocheting.
Worked things out with my sister. Seeing the news taking place in California, I planned to call her, when she called me. Losing both of our brothers so young, we try to stay on good terms. You just never know what God's plans are for our lives.
I've read the thread everyday, but always got interrupted when I would go to post, and then never got the laptop open. I can't really remember who posted what when, but I am staying as current as my memory lets me.
I haven't been to church since my surgery, coz of needing my foot elevated, which means I can't go to the children's program tonight. I love the kids so much, especially coz I get to see my grandchildren there. Frankie gets to sit in the row in front of me, with the little 3-4 year old group. Then, Izzy, sits behind me, in the 3-6th grade group. I have Lincoln in my K-2 group. That is my favorite part of the week. We spend a half hour in the pews, singing and watching a Bible lesson video, and then the speaker talks for a few minutes, then my group goes to the gym, where they have a blast playing organized games, and then we go to our classroom, where I usually teach the lesson, and get help from two friends with the kids, which I really don't need, but love to work with them. Then, we go back to the pews, for a song, and announcements. I remember last year, the leader of the program telling me that my helpers couldn't make it one night. She assured me she would get someone to come in and help me. I laughed, and said, I taught 33, inner city kids in Philly for years. I think I can handle 12 little small town Michigan kids for 20 minutes. I'm a retired urban teacher. Most of my friends at church home school, in a small town with one elementary school, one middle school and one high school. Oy ve.
Must scoot.

Hi Ladies - Hope everyone is having a good day.
I went out and did some errands -- loaded up the car and took a lot of stuff to the dump - old venetian blinds, loads of crushed cardboard boxes and newspapers and shredded piles of old mail - three bags total. Then took four bags of old clothes and other odds and ends and put them in donation boxes. I have about 10 small boxes of Jim's old CDs (I don't care at all for his music), and a box full of old picture frames - dozens of them; and two nativity sets (I have three); and an abundance of Christmas "stuff" to pack up and donate. When my Mom moved in with me, everything from her condo came with her - and she was a collector (she had help from my grandmother who lived with her!) - I have three wreaths, several artificial ceramic village pieces, linens, etc., etc., etc.
I looked at curtains today - I wanted to buy the ones with grommets so they are easy to open - but they were too expensive for me. I have to get myself inspired to set up the sewing machine I bought and see if I can make them -- in the meantime I picked up some cloth shower curtains - one for each window, and put clear rings on them, and I've hung one up to see if that will work. If it's ok, I'll keep them, otherwise I'll bring them back. I've got 48" windows, and the shower curtains are 72x72 - plenty big to cover the window, just have to slide the curtain to one side, rather than spreading two drapes apart. I'll try it for a week and see how it works. Not exactly what I wanted, but a big improvement.
I also looked for a coat or sweater for my dog Pookie - but I'll have to take her to Petco and try some on him to get the right size. Also have to get some heavy dog bowls because Pookie keeps picking up his empty bowls and leaves them wherever he wants to and sometimes I have to hunt them down.
----
Prayers and good wishes for everyone!
Mary
