Good morning ladies!!!
Good morning everyone.....
I have not been able to sleep.
I decide to check in and see if anyone else is up this morning. It is now 5:45 AM Central. I am seriously thinking that I am not going to make it to Thanksgiving dinner again this year. I am having problems thinking and all the rest of my issues are magnified. My IBS hasn't acted up in years and it is nasty right now.
Nic is spending the night (Monday) at his Uncle's. His uncle needs a driver for a doctor appointment this morning. Yup once Nic or any of my family is in town Tom takes over!! He will find all kinds of things he wants them to do. I knew it would happen. No one tells Tom NO!! I am too worn down to fight it. Nic said, he will be back here by noon today (Tuesday). We will have to see about that!
I have a list of things to get done. Quite a few things on the list yet!! Oh well Amanda and Tyler will get it done when they are here next time. They always look for things to do!
I am going to try to sleep for a couple hours. I will check in again later.
Prayers for out wonderful OFF Family and their families. Special prayers as requested.
I hope you all have a good day!! I love you much!!!
More love and extra hugs to all......connie d
Hi Connie! Where on earth is everyone today?
I only have a minute. I have to go pick the boys up. I'm on full time babysitting this week. Chris and Mike are working crazy hours from now until Christmas. It's nuts for both of them to be in retail at Christmas time.
I'll try to come back and part more later this evening but no promises. If not just know I love you all.
Hello Vickie....you have the boys all week....that is a lot of work with Thanksgiving and all. I hope you can manage it all!! Crazy busy for everyone!!
I agree....one of them needs to get out of retail by next years holidays. Why aren't they on opposite shifts? They might overlap a few hours but not the whole shift. You are stronger then I am for sure!! I couldn't go through all your emotions and take care of the kids too. I guess you just have to do what has to be done. I hope you can at least get some good sleep at night!!
I love you and I worry about you!!!!
I don't think I will be back anymore tonight. Nic and I have some things we want to do.
Have a good night.....more love and hugs....connie d
I hope everyone is having a great evening. I spent the day at the crosstitch store. I took my friend with me. But our first stop was Starbucks so I could get black coffee! I had a bad headache!!! Then I went to get a much neede B12 shot and to make an appointment with the Dr. I have an unguinal hernia!!! If I know it was rearing its ugly heads again I would of had it fixed last month!
I hope I'm leaving for Chicago on Friday!!! Vinnie is asking for Grammy!!!
well I better go pull out the duffle bag!!!
Carla
Hello Carla....sorry you are still dealing with headaches. Maybe the coffee will help.
I amuse you had fun at the cross-stitch store. I know how you always like working on things like that!!
The b-12 should help give you a boost!
So you are going back to Chicago again to see Vinnie. I didn't think you could make it that long without her! Vinnie will be so happy!!
Thanks for the Thanksgiving Card. That was so nice!! I just got it today. I didn't even think about Thanksgiving cards...my CRS is on overload! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving too! I really miss cooking Thanksgiving. I haven't had to do it for many years. It was always a favorite holiday to cook for. Christmas too of course!!
Have good evening....love you...HUGS....connie d
Hi Connie and my OFF family:
I guess everyone is busy. I have been busy too. Today, I went to PT for my shoulder, then to the Y for arthritis exercise class, then I stopped at Starbucks for a break, then to the chiropractor. He worked me over good ... he's great. I feel loose now. Dr. Lamb does more than just adjust ... he works out the tight spots in my shoulder. It hurts a bit and then it doesn't. Then he has a massage chair which is really nice.
Then I came home and Gary was cooking turkey dinner for our Thanksgiving feast. Turkey wings, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, dressing ... it was all good. Gary got me a piece of pecan pie, too, but I'm too stuffed to eat it now ... will eat it after we get back from the movie. We're going to see "Mockingjay Part II."
Connie, I'm sorry you won't get your Thanksgiving dinner. Too bad you can't just have a lean cuisine turkey dinner at home. If you need to talk, I'll be home all day tomorrow and Thursday.
Vickie, wow, all week with two toddlers. You're brave! I couldn't handle it. I had a month with a 10 year old and he drove me nuts (and that was my nephew, Christopher, who now has two little ones of his own).
Carla, sorry you are still having headaches. My chiro told me to put icepacks on the neck and then on the face, and alternate them for 20 minutes each. Try it, it might work.
Anyway, hope you all have a good day.
Good Afternoon Connie and OFF,
Last call for the snail mail addresses. I'm going to try to devote time tomorrow to compile the ones in my phone with the ones I've received in the past few weeks. Make sure to include
Well, I went to my ortho doc's office for my first regular post-op appointment, and learned something new about my foot. Now, keep in mind, as some of you already know, if it has to do with my body, and my health, if it's weird, it'll happen to me. I now have a stress fracture in the same bone I broke three years ago. I had an MRI five weeks ago, and the doc did say I could have been developing it then, but it showed up this morning on an x-ray. So, he gave me a choice between a cast, the boot, or a splint, which I had right after surgery. Since the splint started falling apart after a week, and casts get dirty easily, I opted from my boot. Only catch is, I have to wear it 24/7.
Colleen couldn't take me to my appointment, because she was at a training. A friend from church drove me. Since she had already signed up to bring me dinner today anyway, she bought me my favorite sandwich, a Reuben, at a deli chain here. There aren't too many delicatessens here. And I love Reubens.
Kathy, I read your brother's obituary, and truly believe I would have loved having him as a friend. It was so fascinating to learn about your family.
I started this around 1:30 this afternoon, but between phone calls, flower deliveries, and Utley, I kept having to stop, and finally have been able to finish this.
Love and Hugs,
Trish

Hi Ladies.............
I had a good day today....went to Home Depot and returned some wallpaper-type rolls of wall covering - got a store credit of $56, so I bought the venetian blinds I've been wanting to get -- I needed five blinds, and I only had to pay $13. Very happy about that! Got home and I managed to get one of the blinds up in the kitchen. It was harder than anticipated because The old "holders" were different, so instead of being able to just take down the old and snap in the new, I had to replace the holders. Thought I could use my new drill, but the drill wouldn't fit because the holders are small, so I had to screw them in. Tomorrow I'll do three in the living room, and save the last one for my friend who is coming on the 6th - it's over the sink and I can't get to it. I also had a metal shelving unit with four shelves that I emptied and moved into the back room...and went to the dump too.
I'm a bit sore - my right shoulder has been bothering me for a while and now I've aggravated it. But worth it. I really feel good when I get things accomplished. I move slow, but I am determined to get things done. I could have saved the blinds for my friend, but I have a lot of things I can't do that I'm saving for him. I also want to ask him to give me info on how to do some other projects on my own...... I'll have to take extra doses of my pain meds, but at least I have the stamina.
Connie - I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I talk about pain, but mine is miniscule compared to what you are suffering. I pray for you every day - you're such a wonderful woman and you don't deserve the pain and depression.
Eileen, sounds like you had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner with Gary - you two seem to be getting along well, and I'm so glad it's working out. I've never been to a chiropractor - I'm afraid if I go it would feel so good I'd want to go all the time, which I can't afford to do. My insurance co-payments are high enough to keep me from going to doctors, chiros, therapy, etc. -- $25 - $35 a visit adds up quick - and Scans, ER Visits and admission co-payments are sky high. My income is just a little bit above the cut-off for MA Health.... It drives me crazy.
Carla - hope your headache has resolved and you are able to get your bags packed for you trip!
Vickie - You have your hands full, to say the least!! You amaze me you are so busy and active. God bless you!
Trish - oh, the blessed boot!! I had to wear one on different occasions. I have Achilles Tendonitis in both legs - that was the start of my problems way back when. I tried the boot once and it didn't work, so then I had to go to a cast. Other times, the boot works because I start using it at the first sign of a flare-up. Luckily, I haven't had to use it for a while. I don't envy you the problems you are experiencing and suffering. Hope things resolve - but it seems like it will take some time. Praying for you also.
Got to go make something to eat -- prayers and good wishes to all !!
Mary
