Good Sunday morning
Good morning sistas,
Thank you my sweetest friends for all the kind notes and encouragement yesterday, both here and on FB. I could feel your love and support. It means so much to me.
Yesterday went by in a big, busy, wet blur! In some ways, that was good. I never had time to get emotional and cry. In other ways, it was so busy that I never had much chance to reflect on Butch's birthday. But it was a good day for all of us. The trip to Austin went fine, except for the traffic and the rain. At least it wasn't cold on top of the rain. And it did stop raining long enough for us to get a few pictures at the capitol. Here is my favorite one of the day:
From left to right: Christie, Reese (a.k.a. Budder), Lisa (Butch's sister), me, Benny, Carrie, and Charlene (Butch's other sister). Lisa's husband Matt got down on the wet grass to get this shot. This is the picture I will frame to go with the state flag. Both of Butch's sisters were so good to us during Butch's long illness. Lisa especially came from Austin almost every day while he was in hospice in San Antonio and even slept on the floor of his room several nights. She was with us when he passed. He loved all of his siblings, but especially his two sisters. I'm glad they were there with us yesterday.
Connie, honey, I have been thinking about you and the trazadone and your pain. I cannot tell you how much better I feel after getting off of that drug! I'm telling you: it was hurting me! I could barely get up and down out of the chair! Now all of my joints feel so much better. I think you definitely need to talk to your doctor about it!
So, without the trazadone I woke up about 4 times last night, and I'm not sleeping well, but I am pain free. I'll go back to using the Tylenol PM when I absolutely must, but no more trazadone.
Carrie is going back to Waco today. I will follow tomorrow. She's excited about doing her childbirth classes. She's excited about the baby coming soon. So are we all. Even Christie is excited (and for those of you who have experienced kids with sibling rivalry, you know this is a big deal!) and happy about the baby. I hope I get to do a little more sewing for Caralee this afternoon. Depends on how the day goes. If not sewing, then I can crochet for her. It truly does help all of us to have this happy occasion to focus on.
Hoping everyone has a good and blessed Sunday. Love you all!

Your daughters are absolutely beautiful and the grandchildren are so adorable. Your daughters look alike! So Carrie chose Caralee for the baby's nane? It is a beautiful name.
What a wonderful thing you did for Butch's birthday, dearest Vicki. What a tribute to your beloved. I am so happy your family was with you. And back to the sewing! I can smell the material now. I used to love to go to fabric stores and get a whiff of the fabric on the bolts.
Love you dear, and have a great day!
Good afternoon Vickie and everyone....
This pictures so beautiful. What a great family!!!
I am definitely going to talk to my doctor about that drug and also about my Flexural. I spoke with a nurse about my Flexural. She said, it is considered dangerous for people in my age bracket especially being on it has long as I have. I am thinking I need off everything and start over!!
Carrie looks so cute pregnant!! I am sure she is getting more anxious as the time goes by. I love the name Carlee Poe...so cute!! I hope she is a redhead too!!
It has taken me hours to get on OFF. It kept sending a message that it was out of service. Everything else was working on my laptop!
Today has been a more difficult day...I can't stay functioning very well. It has taken me 30 minutes to post this much.
I need to go for now...everyone have a good day!
Prayers daily for our wonderful OFF Family and their families.
I love you all...hugs to everyone...connie d
Connie: I also take Flexoril to help me get to sleep as is a muscle relaxant, but Google search for side effects shows several hits say longterm use weakens muscles...no def of longterm but imagine would be daily for a year or more. I use only occasionally, if have to sleep a few hours solid, for up to 2 weeks max and then take a break from it, find I get used to it and becomes less effective .....can't say about your other med as have never been on it, but Vickie is definite it causes joint and bone pain.
Good Luck
jen
Thanks Jen.....That is about all I read too.
Weakness is one of the things that is an issue for me. I used to only take Flexural occasionally. Now I take it no less then twice a day. I have been doing that for a long time!! I have so many muscle spasms and pain. I am on Cymbalta for my Fibromyalgia pain. It really isn't enough. I have a PRN for Vicodin. I only take it when it is absolutely necessary. Then I only take a half dose. If that doesn't help within an hour I take the second half. I am so tired of living with this!!!
Thanks for helping....I will be calling my doctor.
Love and hugs....connie d
Dear Vickie and Everyone:
Agree with comments on how gorgeous Vickie's girls are, and what a lovely family photo.
Quiet day here, being extremely good as tomorrow do big annual blood tests so no vino or fats last few days, and see doctor on Friday to discuss results and any tweaking of meds.
Hope everyone has a good week ahead, and feel better if in pain.
Hugs to All
Jen
