Rainy Thursday, Again
Good morning sistas!
We are getting more of that glorious rain today! No flooding either. Just good steady rain.
So, this means it's a good day to SEW! Guilt free! LOL!
I finished Budder's little Forget-Me-Not bear last night. He's made from a dark blue, almost purple, shirt, and it was a little hard to get a good picture in artificial light with my little phone camera, but here he is:
And here are the "cousins", so to speak:
It made Carrie cry to see the picture of Butch and baby Reese together. She wishes there would be a picture of Butch and baby Pita.
I did go and spend HOURS at the fabric stores yesterday. It was nice, and except for a bit of lingering guilt about not bringing Mom along with me, I really enjoyed my day. I picked out the fabrics for Budder's quilt. My fabulous coupon at JoAnn's starts TODAY, not yesterday. But I didn't realize it until I got to the register. By then, they had already cut my fabric, etc. But you know, they were nice enough to put it all back for me to hold until this morning. So I'll have to go back in a little while and pick it up, but it is worth it to save 25% on everything. These baby quilts are expensive.
I also went to Han****'s yesterday since it was Senior Citizen Day there and I got an automatic 20% off everything. I bought several more pieces of fabric there, too. It's an addiction.
Oh, and I got to have lunch with Chris, which was nice. I don't often get to see her without the boys, you know?
Well, I hope everyone has a good day today. I know that there are tough cir****tances for all of us, in individual ways. Health problems, pain problems, money problems tenant problems, etc. And, of course, the ever-present WEIGHT problems. But let us all try to be content with ourselves in SPITE of our problems today. DEAL? Love you all!
Hi Vickie and my OFF family to come:
I love the memory bears. I'm sure Budder will like it, too, as will your daughters.
Sewing is a good addiction. No calories, doesn't get you drunk and as long as you don't overspend, doesn't hurt anyone.
I went to see the new chiro yesterday. I liked him a lot. What he did with my left arm helped a lot immediately but unfortunately, didn't last long. And it's back with a vengeance ... last night I was in serious pain and didn't sleep well and this morning woke up in a lot of pain plus a headache. Just not feeling well at all so I decided to skip the Y. While I like the chiro, he will not be covered with the new insurance next year. We'll see what I can do. He would be out of network, so we'll see what he's going to charge. Then I can make a decision. After he did his adjustments, he put me in a massage chair and oh my, that was wonderful.
After that, I did a bunch of shopping: CVS, gas, the grocery store (they had a deal on $5 meat packs on select items, so I got a pack of already cooked ribs, pork chops and Italian sausage ... you have to buy 3 to qualify for the deal); then Sam's Club. Got some good deals. Spent lots of money, but I think I'm stocked up now. Got home at 5 p.m. ... Gary was about to send out the calvary. He cooked the ribs for dinner, along with a package of mac and cheese I got from Sam's and a package of green bean casserole ... and that was dinner. We split the ribs ...not a big package but really just enough for the two of us along with the sides. Then we watched "Spy" ... oh my, that was hilarious! If you haven't seen, see it.
So I was tired and at that point my arm was starting to hurt me again, but I was icing it as Dr. Lamb told me. It just wasn't helping. Drugs weren't helping, the rubs weren't helping. I think it's time to call the ortho group's shoulder guys.
Anyway, got to go. Have a good day.
Vic,
I love the memory bears.
It is rainy here too and turning cold. I am thinking of heading home a little early today so I can get caught up on everything before I take off.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day...one more day and it will be the weekend...yeah!!!
Eileen,
You are probably going to need to have surgery on your arm. My doctor told me to get it done before the pain was constant and it sounds like your pain is constant.
Well, ladies, have a good day.
Hi Ladies,
Its a nice warm and windy day but I was so tired this morning that I couldnt do my walk. Sleep won out but now I feel better. This week Im at my lowest weight of all times 182.6lbs so Im getting closer to my goal. Nothing much going on today or tomorrow. Its supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow and get colder. I hope my winter coat gets here soon that I ordered since last years is way to big.
Vickie I love the bears you made. Im partial to them since I collect them.
Connie hope you are feeling a little better today.
Eileen hope they can get your pain under control.
Thoughts and prayers for everyone
Love and hugs,
Yvonne
