Thursday - Up and At 'Em!

Good Morning Ladies. Enjoying my second cup of coffee. Slept pretty well last night, but puppy woke me up at 5:30 to go outside. Sometimes I'll do that and get right back in bed, but I'd rather not get in that habit, because if I do, I'll end up staying in be until 9:30-10:00 which I don't like to do.

Not much happening today, other than my dental appointment at 11:30. I'm thinking after that, I'll come home and do some work in the yard, raking leaves. If I can get the mower working, I'll do some mowing too. The weather is perfect for being outside - will be around 60 degrees.

Made my hotel reservation for my trip to NY next Saturday for a niece's wedding. Maura and I will be driving down - we'll have some alone time together without Taylor, who'll be staying home with her Dad. My older brother and his wife will be flying in from California and staying at the same hotel and we'll be having breakfast together Sunday morning, before driving home.

Will go through some paperwork for an hour or two. Like Connie, I've got tons of paperwork. I think it's safe to throw out most of the records from when I applied for long term disability and Social Security, and I think there are two boxes of James' paperwork that I can toss. I don't mind sorting through things - it's the disposal that's a nuisance. We don't have town trash pick-up, so I have to bring everything to the dump, and that's a nuisance. I'm stacking boxes in the corner of the back room - I've got to start tossing them.

Hope everyone has a good day. Things seem to be going well for Carla and Jeannie's husband Kenny - hoping to hear Kathy is doing well and resting comfortably. Prayers for everyone, and good wishes.

Mary

Mary,

If you are worried about throwing out papers, maybe you could scan all of them and save them on your computer and maybe back them up in cloud or something. My DH makes digital copies of all of our important records so that we have them should we lose the hard copy.

Hello Ladies,

I had to come in for a meeting with my deans before I take DH back to get his stitches removed. Yesterday, my center was recognized for receiving 20,000 hits on our website in less than three weeks, which is a record. Over the summer, our university switched our web provider and when the webmasters switched our center's web site from the old to the new, they messed up a lot of stuff and over the summer we worked to recover data and reformat old data but before we could get everything uploaded, the semester began and we have been running non stop...hopefully starting next week, we can pick it back up and get things fixed the way I want them...but, in spite of our web problems, we still got 20000 hits and the average length of time spent on our site was 2.5 minutes, which means the people looking are copying our resources...that's what we want them to do. Yeah....

The meeting this morning is going to address our web popularity and our need for more space or more bandwidth or something like that...the tech guy is coming to discuss the technical aspect. After that part of the meeting, we are going over the plans for our new center...I just got moved into this one and we have already outgrown it. But, we have this wonderful space that our center is getting but we have to remodel it and so there will be building people there with plans...this is the part of my job that I like...picking out designs and furniture and all that.

Well, I hear students in the center so I need to go make sure they are getting the help they need.

Ladies, have a good Thursday.

Good morning, Mary and Jeannie, and all my sistas!

I'm up and at 'em, too! Just getting ready to brave the mess in the garage again! But wanted to take a minute to say hi. All that advertising I did on the various on-line garage sale sites must have worked, because I woke up to several more inquiries this morning. Hopefully people will COME HERE AND BUY THINGS!!! LOL!

Busy day ahead. I'll check back in later. Love you all!

Well, the roofing company is coming today to replace the fasteners. I had hubby call yesterday and he gave them a piece of his mind about the fact that no one ever calls back, etc. Anyway, it worked because TODAY is THE day. (Finally!) I have no idea whether the residential warranty we have is going to cover the fasteners or not but at this point, we just want them replaced and figure if the warranty covers it that's great. After this, we are going to deal with a different roofing company.

This morning, we are getting the window covering for the sliding glass door installed. So, that's another milestone. It was ordered quite some time ago. I'm glad that it will be in place before winter hits as I was thinking the cold air was going to transfer through the windows and make the LR colder. Another milestone.

Vickie, I hope that you get lots of buyers and sell everything you want to sell.

Mary, I love to shred old paperwork. We have a safe full of income tax stuff for Ron's mom and for us. I think we are required to keep seven years of detailed records -- but I have to check into that. It's a huge safe and it's chalk full of $*(%.

Well, I think I'll get some coffee before all the activity begins around here.

Oh, Carla, I'm glad the dr. was able to get the mesh out. Hope you start to feel better immediately.

Prayers, hugs and kisses for everyone.

Good morning Mary and OFF-

taking a break from getting my bedroom settled in. Have unpacked the suitcases and totes. Three boxes gone so far. Gotta get the garbage can out to curb today and go pay water bill or they will disconnect me.

carpet I was going to use in bedroom is too big. It's a remake the that my mother bought years ago. I'll cut it to fit. I have two closets in master bedroom. I'm going to convert one to a linen closet so that will be a trip to hardware store.

Carla delighted they were able to get the mesh out with endoscope! Kathy hope you are sipping and walking. Vickie glad you're getting response to your ads already. Also happy that Carrie can come help. Mary there are shredding companies that will come to you home and shred it in the driveway. We used that when my mother moved, we had twelve contractors bags of paper! Cindy P I was happy to read that roof company is coming.

thats all for now ladies. Back to boxes for me. Thank you for the birthday wishes! Hugs and positive vibes to all in need.

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to let you all know my surgery went well. Got out at 8pm last nite.

I have had absolutely no pain...doc said that may change as anesthesia wears off. I am going to stay a second night because my heart rate dropped into the 30s last night for a brief period of time

Cardio said not concerned since it was brief and went back up, but I rather be safe than sorry. I think it is the anesthesia and other pain meds slowing things down, but still want to be monitored.

I will check back in, but finally made it to losers bench...hip-hop!

Love to all..

Kathy
