Sunny Saturday!
Hello Yvonne.....I agree...it is almost getting too cold to walk outside. Sometimes I can still get out for a little while and walk.
I am so glad you got to the library to check in today! Like I say...we do miss you when you are gone!!
You have a good evening and weekend too!!!
Love to you and hugs too....connie d
Good Afternoon Kathy and OFF,
Congratulations Kathy. Welcome to the Losers Bench. Hang on, coz the ride is wild, but worth it. Of course you're tired. You just had major surgery. My first few weeks post op were periods of resting in my rocker with my feet up, then walks around my apartment complex, increasing my distance a little each day. Make sure you reach you water goal each day. That is so important. As for pain meds, I was sent home with liquid Norco, which is hydrocodone and tylenol. I don't remember how long I needed it. Don't fret about taking it when you need it, as long as you take it as directed for legitimate pain. When you don't need it anymore, dump it.
Connie, my foot won't heal till I have surgery. I ruptured a tendon. As long as I wear the boot, I'm okay. There is pain, but it's liveable. This craft fair is the best in the area, and I got great ideas to make gifts. I go back to my orthopedist on Thursday, and I have a disc of the MRI, which he'll look at then. Hopefully, I'll get my surgery date while I'm there.
I'm watching the Michigan State/Michigan game. Go Spartans. Tonight it's Penn State/Ohio State. Roar Lions Roar.
Hugs, Love, and Prayers,
Trish

Good afternoon Kathy and OFF-
Kathy welcome to the losers bench. I did a lot of napping the first two weeks post surgery. As others have already said, you've had major surgery, give yourself time to recover and keep hydrated.
Carla so happy the endoscope did the job. Liked the picture you posted on Facebook. I have to get some mums and decorate for Halloween.
Judy sorry to read about rick's step-dad. Hope it works out.
Connie glad the pain is manageable today.
Arlene I agree with Connie, make a day of it and go to the old therapist. Healthcare these days sucks Medicare or otherwise.
Eileen I used to have IBS really bad when I smoked. It sucks. Friday night football doesn't help.
spent the morning waiting for DISH to come to hook up my TV. At about 2:30 they rescheduled to tomorrow. Also unpacked four dish packs and put things into the dishwasher. I'm missing my kitchen in Maine. Someday I'll get this one the way I want it meanwhile I'll have to make do. Trying to do a little bit each day. Gotta pick up some price stickers to start labeling things as I go for the garage sale. As I unpack I'm coming across more things to weed out.
Vickie hope your garage sale went well. Jeannie hope hubby's stitches came out yesterday without incident. Hugs and thoughts to all of you. Back to the boxes for me.

Kathy,
Welcome to the loser bench. I'm like everyone else here, listen to your doctor and avoid glider foods (foods that glide through the pouch such as crackers, mashed potatoes) and avoid sugar. I was lucky, sugar made me deathly ill and still does. I can eat a bite or two of cake but that is it and don't pu**** because I hate getting sick.
Judy, I, too, remember when you had surgery. Happy Surgiversary day. Our dates are close together and I think we got fixed the same year. My husband is four years older than I but for years and years, he looked younger because he had such a baby face but over the last few years, age caught up with him and now he looks so much older.
Connie, if you go outside, you be careful...I know how fast you think you can walk and then the next thing we know, you are on the ground...you be careful...I said. I wish you were at Vic's garage sell too because I know you would keep her company.
Vic, we are all out and about. The weather here is finally cooling off and I can safely say, summer is gone and fall is here. The sugar maple outside my office is turning red and it is beautiful.
Eileen, when I had my surgery, about a week out, I got an intestinal bug. If I had known then what I know now, I would have had DH take me to the hospital. I passed out three times in a row and couldn't hold water down at all. I kept telling my husband to make sure to give me sips of water every few minutes so I wouldn't die. I was afraid if I went to the ER, they would mess up my pouch...how crazy is that. DH gave me some of his crones disease anti-diarrheal medication, which stopped the diarrhea so I could at least hold water in for a little longer. I recovered but the next day, when I looked in the mirror, I looked dead...girl, I had the worst buyer's remorse. But I recovered as you did....we sure were silly back then, weren't we?
Ladies, I cannot remember who else posted. Everyone, I hope your day is going well. I am thinking I'm about to go find a good movie. I am so tired of reading students' papers...argh.
Have a good Saturday and I'll check back later to make sure you all are behaving yourselves.
Hello sistas! Do y'all know the saying "too pooped to tinkle"? That's me! Lord what a day. I swear to you all: never again.
We really didn't have that good of a turnout either. We did sell about $500 worth of stuff. But I swear we barely made a dent in it. None of the big pricey stuff sold either. So that was $500 worth of nickel and dime things!
I did get to meet a lot of my neighbors which was nice.
Around 3 o 'clock we were exhausted and we just shut it down. We packed my car and carrie's car to the gills and took it all to the good will. We still didn't get it all and have to make another trip there tomorrow. Yes! That's how much stuff we had!
We haven't divvied up the money yet so I don't know how much of our $500 is mine and how much is mom's but I don't care. I'm just happy to have our behind me now.
I know Advil is a no - no but I took three of them. I figure if they're going to kill me at least I'll die without a sore back. LOL!
I'm going to take two days of rest and then I have to get started again on the lake house. But for now all I have to do is lay back and enjoy Carrie's visit.
Read all the posts. I love you all!
