Happy Friday
Hello my OFF Family:
Where is everyone this morning? It's already afternoon and no one has posted. I'm watching baseball and drinking coffee, although it's cold now. My little E-Z Cup holder for the Keurig got thrown out or misplaced or something so I have to order a new one. Fortunately, I have a gift card for Amazon, so I'll do that right now.
I spent a good half hour getting Gary's computer hooked up to my printer. I had to download the software, install it and then hook it up. I have a little more tech knowledge than he does. Probably because I have to use it on a regular basis at work.
Some talk last night about the company's sale to the evil empire, Gannett. Everyone's uncertain about the future. All I know is if they offer me a buyout, I'm taking it. I'm not moving again to a new place. I'm getting too old for this. As much as I enjoy my job, I just can't take all this uncertainty of job security. My former boss in Louisiana says they probably won't do anything with Evansville/Henderson for awhile because of the small market and where we are (we are closest to the Louisville design studio). She also said there's a real need for sports copy editors, which is what I am most of the time. I expect maybe a year before the **** really flies.
Anyway, I was lazy this morning. It's raining and I'm hurting. I slept until my phone rang. Gary is busy doing stuff with his computer and other things. He says he is going to put up Halloween stuff today.
Football Friday night tonight (ugh!) My least favorite night of the week.
Good afternoon Eileen and OFF-
Everyone must be busy today with errands and such.
I've been up and running around most of the morning. My mother gets her hair done on Fridays. The facility car took her and then I pick her up to run errands. What I'm learning about blindness is that your sense of time is skewed as you don't always pick up on the light changes. So I picked her up at 10:30 and she said we should go to lunch. An hour later we finally got to lunch. We went to the grocery store for incontinence pads. I won't go into that.
It's supposed to rain tomorrow so I'm trying to put things back into the car today. Also trying to fake the cat out. I have several items to add from Mom's so I'm going to be stuffed to the gills. My friend in Texas has offered to go turn up the AC at my house so it will be nice and cool when I arrive. They're also trying to plan a birthday party for me, something no one has done in years.
Not much else new here. I'm trying to breath deeply and remain patient. There are definite cognitive changes going on with Mom. I'm going to come back in December to go with her for her appointment to her PCP.
Hugs and thoughts for all of you. Is Kathy having her surgery today or next week? Mary glad to see that you were posting again. I can relate to unnecessary spending and then having nothing to do "normal" things. My brother's life. Jeannie hope darling husband is doing good and that you are headed home to your own beds. Connie hope the pain level is going down. Vickie I hope you are sewing away madly. I have the same hearing issues with my Mom.

Greetings Eileen and OFF,
Eileen, I tried to watch the Rangers game, but for some reason, MLB.TV bumped me off in the middle of the game, and I couldn't log back into the game. Darn. Hamels was pitching.
I woke up to a text from Colleen, asking me to watch Frankie for a little while this morning. We played the whole time I was there.
Vickie, the kids have a game that they all loved to play around his age. It's called Zingo. It's a Bingo game with pictures. Frankie and I always play it when I'm over there. It's for kids age 4 and above. Frankie is three, and we've been playing it for months. Just a suggestion for Christmas. I saw it on Amazon, but can't paste a link.
I have some housework to do, but my sinuses are killing me this afternoon. I have to do the sinus rinse as soon as my dishwasher is done. The bottles for rinsing it are getting clean.
Must scoot.
Love and Hugs,
Trish

Good afternoonEileen and everyone....I don't know where everyone is...Cindy P is on vacation...no idea where the others are.
I hope the company isn't for sale. It wouldn't surprise me though. So many newspapers are folding up. It is so easy to just read it on line. I hope you do get a buyout if it comes to that. Our newspaper here is so boring. One ladies family buys her's and she shares it with six of us!!
So sorry you are hurting Good thing you could sleep in some.
Gary is funny....he likes putting up Halloween decorations. I have know a lot of men and never one did that. They would help with Christmas if I asked....I usually didn't because I am a perfectionist...I would have had to do it all over again anyway!
YAY...your favorite football Fridays...UGH!!!
As for me...... I am late getting here today. I had a really rough night and morning. A horrible flare up again. Needed to rest and take my Vicodin and Flexural a couple times before I could even shower for the day. My hands are so painful. My wrists hurt to the tip of my fingers. Sharp shooting pain. Another hour before I can put Voltaren Gel on!!
I am doing nothing at all today. No walks. No coloring. Boring!!
Prayers for all our precious OFF Family and their families. Special prayers for those who asked.
I hope everyone is doing well and are having a good day!!I will be reading all posts but I don't think I can answer...at least not much!! You know I care and I love you all!!
Lots of love and oodles of hugs.....connie d
No, Connie, our company, Journal Media, was bought by Gannett, which is one of the largest newspaper companies in the country, if not the largest. I worked for them in Louisiana. Probably nothing going to happen for another six months to a year. But still ... just when I think I've gotten settled, someone pulls the rug out from under me.
Sorry you are hurting. I started getting a headache as it came time to get ready for work. Take it easy.
Good Evening Everyone!
I am waiting in the car with Jim, Jazz's mom & her boyfriend. Jazz just walked in our homecoming parade with her cheer squad. Actually, she was dancing she was so happy! Love that girl!
My youngest daughter called me at 720 this morning asking to come up and use our computer. It was the only morning o could sleep in for over a week. I told her to give me an hour...she shows up in 15 minutes.
She stayed til almost 11 before leaving to 'go buy a car!' She has talked about this for months, but done minimal research. I tried to give her a few words of advice...but was told I was being negative. Oh well, she's 34... Let's see how she does...
After she left kept my mind off eating by cleaning the bathroom and taking as nap. Then I get on FB....food all over! Thankfully Cindi B rescued me...
Then off to parade. My youngest is now waiting for me at my house to show me what she did...o joy. Ready for bed and my book.
Sorry for Vickie & Mary with the grief. Pray tomorrow is a better day. Eileen, for me starting over is more difficult as I get older...some love it. Connie, hoope you have a better nite.
I am gonna sign off bc typing on phone n dark doesn't cut it!
Kathy
