Tuesday update
Cindy P.- Sylvester and I camped out in the house after I bought it last spring so he's comfortable at the moment. I'm going to close him into the walk in closet tomorrow. Hope you get the roof issues taken care of. My family had a beach house so I'm very familiar with what salt air does to things. Cindi B.
Well, I apologize for my earlier outburst. I was just SO frustrated with my mom. But we're okay now. She finally gave up trying to deal with my stuff and just took care of her own. Which is how it should be. Sometimes I wonder what goes through her mind. The only other "issue" we had all afternoon was her insistence that I look at every single thing she unpacked. Kind of like dealing with a child, you know? But I can handle that part. I just needed her to leave my things alone.
Anyway, I had a fairly productive day. Never do get as much done as I plan to do, but I'm making progress. Plan to get up in the morning and hit it hard. It's nice and cool here in the mornings, but the afternoons are still HOT and in the 90s.
Today I unpacked my Fall decorations. Nothing as elaborate as Eileen's (LOVE 'em, Eileen! How cool!), but I haven't seen them in about 4 years. I was so happy to rediscover all my little pumpkins and things. I don't have a fireplace mantel to decorate any more, but I decorated my bar and kitchen table. And I have some little pumpkins and things scattered throughout the living room. I have to be really careful with my breakables and BUDDER!
Also this morning I bought a big ceramic pumpkin for my front porch. I used to have a lot of yard decorations when my girls were little, but they've all disappeared over the years. There just was no use for them when we lived out in the country. So I'm starting over. I wish I knew how many trick-or-treaters to expect. I asked my neighbor, but she said she's never here on Halloween. She goes to visit her grands.
I'm meeting my realtor at the lake house Friday morning. She and I are going to walk through and discuss what all I might need to do before we get the house on the market. I've already told her I'm going to sell it "as is". I have no interest in trying to make all the repairs, etc., that a 50 year old house might need. I'll take a lower price in order to avoid having to deal with all the issues that are sure to arise during an inspection.
Hope to have the garage sale on Saturday. Clean up from that on Sunday. Then spend the next 10 days or so working at the lake house. The landscaper won't give me a firm date on when they're coming here to do my flower beds, but said at least 2 weeks. I have to be here to supervise that, of course. But I think some of Butch's family is going to come and help me next week, so maybe I can finish that mess before the landscape project starts. I sure hope so. I'm ready to put some of this behind me.
Haven't heard from my tax man yet. I'm still on tenderhooks waiting to hear how bad it's going to be.
Oh, and T. Rowe Price called today and they need yet ANOTHER form from me! Honestly. I will never get that transfer finished. They are mailing it to me, so at least another week before I can get it back to them.
I decided that maybe my computer was overheating, so I've left the door to the hutch open all day and so far, so good. I'm living on borrowed time, I'm sure.
I read all the posts. I'm sorry for all the aches and pains and delayed surgeries, etc. SO glad our Cindi made the last leg of her journey successfully! Welcome home, Cindi! Love you all!
Good Evening Vickie and OFF,
I've had an insanely busy day, and don't have time to read all the posts right now, but I promise I will.
I had an early appointment with with nurse practitioner at the pain doc's office. From there I went to my ortho doc's office. Turns out, I have to have surgery on my right foot. Turns out I have somehow managed to rupture the tendon that connects the far right bone between my toes and ankle. That is the bone I broke three years ago. It was ruptured on the first x-ray, two weeks ago, but I didn't know it till today. I have no clue when yet. I need to get an MRI done tomorrow morning. Then, I go back to the doc next week. I should know more then.
Tomorrow will be insanely busy too.
Hugs,
Trish
