Saturday--ErrandsTto Run With Taylor....
Good Morning Ladies...
Picked up Taylor yesterday afternoon and she'll be with me until I drop her off Sunday morning for a field trip to a pumpkin patch. She is such a joy. Had a few sad moments when she talked about missing Poppy (Jim), but we got thru it talking about funny things he did with her, so we ended up laughing about it.
So today we'll be visiting my friend Shirley, who used to babysit Taylor once in a while, then running some errands...picking up blinds for the living room/kitchen, buying her some warm pajamas to keep here (Mama doesn't pack her overnight bag too well - has all summer clothes in it), etc. Went to Salvation Army on Wednesday (half-price day) and got a Winter parka and also found a beautiful dress to wear to my niece's wedding later this month - it's a pretty floral print that I never would have considered a year ago...
This is an expensive month for me...I thought the funeral home cashed its check last month, but it just went through yesterday, and the wedding Maura and I are going to is October 24th, and it's an evening wedding down in New York, so I'm reserving a room, plus have to give a wedding gift). I guess there's always something - I'm hoping to pay some of my past due real estate taxes next month -- I'd just like to get everything up-to-date so I could get my budget set and stick to it.
So what's happening with you ladies....
Mary
Hey Mary and Ladies,
I took Kenny back to the hospital on Friday Morning and the surgeon looked over his eye and fortunately for us the cornea attached. So, we were released to come back to our home n the mountain. The trip from LR to up here is about three hours and I leaned his seat back and he slept the entire trip.
Last night was pretty rough because he still has to keep his head leaned back and he is wearing the brace to keep his chip up...so he cannot do too much by himself. Tomorrow, we take the brace off and his every hour eye drops drop to four times a day.
The *****es (our cats) were so happy to see us; you would have thought that we had been gone a month.
Today, after he gets settled, one of my gays and I are going out to eat and then shopping. I have been by DH's side non stop since Wed., and I need a break. Another friend is coming to sit with him; although, I am sure he would be ok by himself.
Mary, I hope you get your budget stabilized.
Enjoy your days, ladies.
Hello Jeannie.....woot woot.....I am so glad Kenny's cornea's have attached!! Probably good that he slept on the ride home too.
Pets miss us if we are gone 15 minutes or less!!
Enjoy your shopping trip!! I use to love shopping with a couple of my gay guy friends. OH MY GOODNESS!!! What a breath of fresh air!! We laughed until I about wet my pants!!! The two best shopping trips was going to pick out Halloween costumes....oh my....what an experience that was!! The second was Victoria Secrets...need I say more!!
Have a great day....love you...hugs....connie d
Good morning Mary and OFF-
Rainy here this morning in North Carolina, glad I loaded most of the stuff in the car yesterday.
It will be a lazy day just wrapping up stuff for my Mom and helping one other resident with her AARP pad. I started teaching her how to use it in the spring and she's doing pretty good for a 90 year old.
Medicare Part D insurance came through on the Vesicare script. Only confusion was that doctor had also called in a script to old pharmacy that charges for deliveries. Fixed that by updating the card she carries with her perscriptions listed by designating the new pharmacy. Very apparent now that she is struggling with the daily "business" type issues of bills and such. So I'll begin scheduling more frequent visit and try to synch her doctors visits to my schedule. Oh boy.
Mary I'm glad you have Taylor for the weekend. That will be good fun for you both. Sounds like you handled her grief about Jim very well. Happy you are trying to get your financial stuff in order. Wish I was there to help you sort through the stuff and try to sell it for you online. Maybe there is someone at the local senior center who could help with that. I certainly wouldn't want the worry of back taxes hanging over my head. Happy to hear that you found a dress for the wedding. Sounds like you had a NonScale Victory.
Jeannie- Glad your husbands transplant took and that he's on the road to recovery. I can certainly relate to being in constant company and needing a break.
Vickie - when I get to Texas this week I am more than willing to help you with the lake house clean out. My mother used an estate sale company to clean out my Dad's tool room and stuff she didn't want to move to the new home. They handled the sale etc. for a percentage of the sale, maybe that's something to consider for cleaning out Butch's treasure troves. My Dad was the same way. He kept everything broken or unbroken. I admit that I am the same way too however I did not move it to Texas I bartered it with my handyman for some repairs on the cabins.
Eileen I hope that the Gannet takeover does not ultimately affect you. With your editorial skills and page layout experience I'm sure you could find something locally with a printing or layout company. I also hope that they offer a buyout if they do a downsizing down the road.
Connie hope the pain levels are better today.
Kathy two more days and then you'll be sleeved and losing even more weight. I loved the picture of Jazz in her cheer uniform. I don't think she's a large girl at all and I'm still fuming about how the coach handled the uniform issue.
Carla hope you can have the GI on Monday and that you've cleared the contrast dye for the CT scan. Don't you hate when they don't think about the sequence of things when they schedule all these procedures. I'm loving the pictures you are posting of Vinnie. She's adorable.
Cindy P hope your trip to Idaho is going well. I've added Idaho to my bucket list. I went there as a child but want to go back now as an adult. One of my fire fighting friends was there for 21 days this summer and posted some beautiful pictures albeit smokey.
Trish hope the Munchkins are not wearing you out too much. Busy time of the year for youngsters. Thanks for your kind words about my concerns about my mother.
Hugs and thoughts going out to all of you.
Cindi B

Good morning sweet Mary and everyone....
Mary...I mentioned awhile back that I have some younger children things...Gracie is to old for them now. They got put away and I forgot them until she was to old. Just a few little play things. I would love to send them to you for Taylor if that is okay. You can give it out to her as is it was from you. Let me know. There isn't a lot but I think she would enjoy it.
You having Taylor with you always makes me smile!! I know then you are HAPPY!!! Just like I am with my Grace.
Have a mice little visit with your friend. Enjoy shopping with Taylor! Yes...warm PJs is a must for Taylor!!
I am glad you found a dress you like at a good price!! I am sure you will look great in it!!
You keep plugging along....you will be all caught up on bills and be following your budget soon!! You will be so much more relaxed when things are in order. All that stress will just melt away! I am so proud of you.
I am glad you were able to speak with Taylor about Jim. I am sure you both feel a bit better now. Laughter is good medicine!!
