Good Morning
Hi my OFF family:
I am so tired today. I think working that extra day is taking its toll on me. I slept well enough, but I got up at 10 and Juliette was purring next to me and I kept dozing off. Finally, I hauled my butt out of bed, even though I wanted to sleep more. And two cups of a coffee later, I still feel sleepy. It's going to be a long night.
We had a nice steak and chicken dinner cooked by our publisher for those who gave to United Way. Usually, they forget about the night crew but this time we had fresh food and all. Steak, bbq chicken, salad, baked potato, roll and ice cream (just a dixie cup). Plus pop to drink (although I had my own; don't like Diet Dr. Pepper). Plus, we also got to do a blind draw for a gift card; I got a $10 card for Target. So that was nice.
Cindy, hope your appointments go well. Connie, hope your day goes as planned and you get some rest. Well, I can't remember anything else. My mind is a blank ... it happens when I get tired. I am having a big fibro flare. Maybe I can get a nap in before work.
Well, I have to restart my computer because some stuff was removed. See ya later.
Hello Eileen....I am sorry you are so tired again today. You are right it could be the extra hours and trying to unpack too.
It sounds like your group was well fed. A steak and chicken dinner. Plus the left overs...you scored!!! Then gift cards too!!!
My day has been a lazy one. I walked for awhile. Then came back and got on my computer. Now I am watching movies.
I hope you had a nap so your night will go a bit better.
My low pain day took a turn about 3 hours ago when the temps took a fast dive. I had to take Vicodin and Flexaril. I am in that dang fog again too. I hate that. I don't know how you can work like that. I would mess everything up!!
Love you...HUGS....connie d
It is still morning in CA and a beautiful day. Good news Vickie with your first granddaughter on the way! You needed some good news...I'm thrilled for you.
Mary, we have two dogs right now and one of them had a helluva time with the potty stuff. She wasn't being naughty....she just couldn't wait...when it was time it was time, sort of like my husband ?! We don't have carpet anymore so clean up wasn't hard but it was never fun to find a mess. We finally got a doggy door that fit into our sliding glass door in our bedroom and we have not had one mess since!
We have had a crazy week here...we are getting new roofs...the first on my daughter's house across the street and now ours...I am listening to pounding and pulling overhead as I type. It will be so great to have this big job done. I am getting some solar tubes in the family room to add sunlight. I have always wanted more light in that room.
Tonight is Happy Hour with our close friends. I have not been drinking any alcohol since my intestinal blockage, so I usually pu****er in a wine glass. I may have a glass of wine once in a while but I think I can do without it for the most part.
I am involved in a craft fair in two weeks so I am gearing up for that. I do some fairy gardens, succulent plantings, and for this one I am making small pumpkin designs and some Halloween bracelets. I'll try to put a picture on when I get to that part of my creating.
I don't envy your big move Cindy. That has so many layers of work and goodbyes. Sending you a special hug of support for the next step.
Also a hug for Vickie and Mary with the one step forward, two steps back of the journey of grief.
Julia
Hello Julia....nice to see you back!!
I forgot about the roofs being fixed. OH MY the POUNDING!! That must be awful to listen too. At least it wasn't going on at night!! The solar tubes will be wonderful!
I so love fairy gardens. I have wanted one for so long. I envy you being able to make them. I am sure they will sell well!! Craft fairs are so fun!!
Have fun with your friends at happy hour. I love wine but haven't had a drink in about 3 years now. I just decided I didn't want those extra calories.
Love you...hugs....connie d
Julia,
I love seeing you post. We just had a new roof put on my old house that my daughter lives in. We had the barn, the garage, and the house totally roofed...first time in probably fifteen years. DH had them put some new steel roof or something that is suppose to last forever...we'll see. The barn just needed new tin so the roofers climbed up and fixed it all up.
I used to do craft fairs but lately I have been way too busy to get things together. I used to make rag dolls and raggedy ann and andy dolls and let me tell you, those things sold like crack. The rag dolls that I made that were really just for decorations sold too and they are so easy to make. One of my great, great nieces is expecting and she asked me to make her baby, who is a girl, the raggedy and and andy dolls. I'm also making her baby a crocheted baby blanket and I'm sewing her three receiving blankets (all cotton), a set of cloth diapers and covers, and finally, I'm making her a quilt. The quilt will be for when she moves from the baby bed to the twin bed so I have a little more time on that one. I make all our new babies the cloth diapers and covers and if their moms use them fine and if not fine but I thought I'd give them the option of a cheaper and environmentally friendly option. I have to say, they all used them for when they are home. My nephew's wife said she loved the pretty diaper covers so much because they are more stylish than the disposable diapers. LOL. I do pick the prettiest cover patterns. Anyway, she has even managed to get her daycare to use them on her son instead of pampers and the day care says they are better because there is no trash...the cloth diapers, the covers, and the wipes all go into the bag she sends. Kids today are so spoiled for easy instead of practical.
Well, girl, have fun at the craft fair...eat a turkey leg for me.
Hello sweetest sistas!
Mom and I are home from our trip to Waco, and I'm bushed. But I just had to get on and show y'all the picture we got of our new baby girl yesterday. Modern technology is truly amazing. Not only did we get to see the baby moving around, we got a picture of her little face!
So now the fun begins! Carrie is already waffling on the name. LOL! I knew that was going to happen. Cara Lee? Evelyn Grace? Olivia? Vivian? Who knows? She'll change her mind a hundred times before February.
We did get to take a fun gender reveal photo yesterday and Carrie made the decision to "go public" on FB with the news. So we don't have to keep everything hush-hush anymore. Here's the photo of her in a pink shirt with a piece of pink angel food cake:
We bought 2 dozen pink cookies for her to take to work today. She's very excited. We all are!
But before I can start sewing for baby, I really have to knock some of these "chores" out of the way. I've been putting things off for long enough. It's time for me to deal with things. First thing is to finish cleaning out that lake house and get it ready to put on the market. That's next week's project.
Today, however, I'm sitting on the couch, crocheting on my sweater, and watching old movies. It's about all I'm good for today.
Love you all very much!
