Good Morning
Good Morning Cindy and everyone else.
Not much happening here. Have a 12:30 appt. with the dentist for Deep Cleaning, Session 2. This time, I won't forget to take some medicines for pain and anxiety. Also have to take some cold medicine so I'll be able to breathe through my nose.
Not much else happening. Pookie (my puppy) is misbehaving and I'm getting annoyed with him. I take him out pretty frequently, and sometimes he'll go over to the door and look at me and I get right up and take him out and he'll do his business. If I keep him in his crate, he won't have any accidents, and if I keep him tied up near me, he won't have an accident. But, if he's not tied up, he'll wander down the hall when I'm not looking (ie, when I'm "dozing") and then later I'll find a "surprise". He knows he's in trouble when I call him down, but he does it anyway. I don't want him to have to live his life tied up or in the crate, but I don't know what else to do. When he does his business outside, I call him over and pet him and praise him like crazy to let him know he's a good boy.....I tried to give him treats also, but this crazy guy doesn't like any of the dozen types of treats I've bought him. Suggestions anyone?
Hope you're all doing well and have a good day.
Mary
Hello Mary......I hope your dental work went well for you. I am sending prayers.
It has been years since I had a dog. I am not sure about puppy treats anymore. I know you need to read the ingredients well. I am sure someone can help you. Vickie or Judy maybe can suggest what they use. They might have ideas about the potty training too.
I hope you are having some better days. I know it is kind of a rollercoaster ride for you right now. I pray for you every day. I am here if you need me. I think of you so often.
I love you...many hugs too....connie d
Mary...back when I had my first Shih Tzu my vet told me to use the IAMMS (not sure if I spelled that right) treats...they were good for him...AND it was ALL he would eat!!! Would not eat dog food at all!!!! Right now I am feeding Bandit Rachel Ray's dog food to him...she also has some GOOD treats out. When I was into SHOWING dogs we used to boil chicken liver and used that for them to "Stack" for the judging...that is also good for them. Hope this helps you.
HUGSSSSSSSSSSS
Mary, when we potty trained our dog, we crated him unless he was right with us. We got a child's playpen and put our dog in it when we couldn't absolutely be sure we were going to closely watch him. Dogs will not soil where they sleep unless it is a dire emergency. By keeping him confined, lavishly praising when he went outside, we had very few accidents. The problem is that once they've gone on the carpet, often they will repeat the same behavior because they can smell the scent of their urine and such. There is a product called "Nature's Miracle" that does help to remove the odor. A lot of pet stores carry it. I've ordered mine from Petedge.com.
Good luck.

Good Morning Cindy & Mary!
I usually love getting up early when I can manage it, but not so much in the Fall & Winter. I hate getting up in the dark! It is now dar****il about 6:50 am here when we get Jazz off to school. Miss the bright sunlight of summer and the dew on the grass.
Good luck with your appointment!
Mary, our dog has accidents, too, but it is usually our fault for not taking her out often enough. Woke up this morning to one where she now goes all the time when she goes inside. It is frustrating, but because of the rain she didn't get out as much yesterday. I have no tips as we have had dogs over the years who just would not completely respond to training.
I hope your dental appointment goes well.
We are headed up to Jim's mom's. Were supposed to go the other day, but didn't make it. God bless her at 78 on the computer...she needs her getting her pictures organized and on a thumb drive. Then we have some shopping to do if I can stand to be around food in the grocery store.
Everyone have a great day!
Kathy
Hello Kathy my sunshine girl...keep me smiling!!!
I am already missing the longer days and less sunshine. I know you have SAD too. I got my lights out last night. I always know winter isn't far away I hope we both have an easier winter this year!
Enjoy your time with Jim's mom. It is nice of you to help her with her computer. My grandchildren are my computer geeks!!! I am sure she will be so happy you are there!
Have a good rest of the day...love you...hugs too...connie d
Cindy...good morning sweet friend.....nice to see you start the thread this morning!!!!!
I hope the appointment goes really well. I am sending prayers.
I will chat with you later when you return.
I love you!!
Thank you for the prayers, love, and good advice you have given me. You helped me more then you know.
As for me...... I am feeling okay today...not quite as great as the last few days but still much better. The temp was 38 last night and a high of 62 this afternoon. I will open windows when they finish mowing the grass.
I am so happy I have no appointment until next week. I need a few days to recover. My week was to hectic for me.
I am such a wimp compared to so many of you. I wish I had the energy to do more!!
I keep thinking about that sweet little granddaughter of Vickie's. Vickie is going to love sewing and spending time with her. I am so happy for her and Carrie too of course!!
I made baked some BBQ ribs for dinner last night. They were so good. I will have the rest tonight. Now I wish I would have made more!!!!
Prayers for our beautiful OFF Family and their families. Special prayers for those that requested some and are in need.
Have a happy day....lots of love and hugs to all.....connie d
Connie, your BBQ ribs sound really good. I think I'm hungry!
We had a long day. My appointment went very well. I like the doctor. He wasn't pushy -- asking questions in a non-threatening manner and accepting my answers as they were -- allowing me to share or not as I was comfortable. It think our doctor-patient relationship is going to be fine.
After my appointment we drove 30 minutes further to go to Costco to pick up a few things. Then, got gas, coffee, and headed back home. The longest part of the day is the roundtrip commute to the valley which takes 3 1/2 hours overall. Good news is that there wasn't much traffic at all.
Anyway, I've been doing laundry and other little chores since we got home. Just about time to kick back and relax.

Hello again Cindy...I ate those ribs for lunch. I couldn't wait for dinner!! I have to make them again soon. Tonight I will eat my fish dinner that was served here for lunch. YUM!!
I love Costco! Why they don't build one here is a mystery!! I want a Trader Joe's as well. I hope you found some really good deals at Costco's!!
I love you...have a good night....HUGS....connie d
