Hi Ladies,

Sorry I was mia for a few weeks, the brakes were going out of my car so I finally got it fixed today. My brother is helping me to pay for it. Im visiting my dad today for a while. I read all the post every day but cant post any replies till I get to a computer. The weather is cool and dreary today but I will still take my walk later on when I get home. Over the weekend I made a spaghetti squash with spaghetti sauce with ground turkey and mushrooms. It was so good. Im probably going to go to my brother's this weekend. They are having the annual chili cookoff party so that should be fun. At ;east I get out of the house for a few days.

Vickie congrats on the baby granddaughter. I know you will like sewing for her.

Mary will keep praying for better days for you.

Cindi Im glad you got your stuff moved and got to your mom's without a problem.

Carla hope your surgery goes fine and you feel better.

Connie glad you are doing the best you can do.

Christine glad to see you post today. Your pic looks great.

Kathy hope your liquid diet is going good. Your day will be here soon.

I know Im forgetting people but cant remember what other people posted lately.

Thoughts and prayers for everyone.

Love and hugs,

Yvonne

Hello Yvonne....so nice to see you back!!

It is very nice of your brother to help you get your brakes fixed. That can get pretty expensive.

I always use spaghetti squash instead of pasta. It really is good!! I am glad you tried and liked it.

Have fun at your brothers at the chili cook off. I hope you win!!! I made a large Crock Pot of chili this morning. It is still simmering now. Soon I will let it cool and divide it up into freezer containers.

Have a great rest of the day!!!

Love and hugs to you....connie d

Hello Ladies,

I couldn't remember if I had posted or not. Vic, have you ever thought about taking all of your husband's old Tshirts and regular shirts, and even pants and making a quilt. I have made tons of quilts for my son and daughter out of their children's old clothes. Likewise, a few years ago, one of my cousins gave me sacks full of her dad's old shirts and pants because she thought I could use them for some of my sewing projects. I made her a memory quilt and gave it to her and she was so happy to see her dad's shirts in the quilt. She won't even use the quilt but keeps it on display. I cannot wait to see the memory bears.

DH's transplant is still on and we are heading there tomorrow for his pre-op and will spend the night for his surgery on Thursday. If all goes well, we will be cleared to come home on Friday evening.

Eileen, I like a good breakfast for supper. Connie, girl you and I think a like. I am forever cooking stews, chilies, and other foods that do better in large quantity and then freezing them for later.

Judy, I hope you hear good news about your mom and sister today.

My memory of everyone's post has stopped but know that I am thinking about each and every one of you.

Let your Monday be magnificent.

Hello Jeannie...I am sure that quilt you made for your cousin will be handed down for generations to come.

I am glad the surgery is still on. I thought when you were so sick it was delayed. I hope all goes well tomorrow through Friday. I hope the transplant is a huge success!!!

I have started cooking ahead more now that I am alone and not feeling good all the time. It is great to have a variety to choose from. It makes it much easier too if company is here.

Have a nice relaxing evening tonight.

I love you....hugs.....connie d

Hello sweet sistas,

It's almost bedtime, but I wanted to pop on and read the day's posts. I had another intense day. I seem to have no other kind.

I finally, finally, finally got that form to transfer Butch's retirement/mutual funds into my name. Honestly. It should have been such a straight forward, simple thing to do. I'm the sole beneficiary. But long story short I finally got a bank officer to do the "Medallion Signature Guarantee" stamp on the form today (I jumped through a LOT of hoops the past several days), and I can mail it off to T. Rowe Price tomorrow. That's a big check mark on my list.

In between I did some more sewing and shopping. I posted pictures of my first memory bear on a new thread. I think she turned out fine. She's not perfect (as my mom was quick to point out! Sometimes she really hurts my feelings, you know?), but she was made with a lot of love. Carrie loves her, and that's all that matters to me.

Next I'll make the boys' bears. One bear will be navy blue with a blue and pink check contrast. The other will be a green/black plaid with solid green contrast. The boy bears will just have bow ties, not the little vests.

I was in Wal Mart's today and I didn't know they started carrying fabric again. And they now carry Waverly fabrics to boot! Whoo hoo! I just happened to have all of my fabrics for Pita's baby quilt in the car, so I went back out and got them and shopped! I got the rest of the fabrics I needed to make the quilt. Plus I got more fabric for a second crib sheet and a couple more receiving blankets.

AND I went punch drunk on a sale of baby patterns on ePatternsCentral.com today. Patterns are so outrageously expensive these days! So I stocked up.

I tell y'all, all I want to do these days is sew. It's the only thing I'm interested in.

Well, my eyes are tired. I'm going to bed and listen to my audiobook for awhile. Cindi, I'm glad you landed safely! I was worried about you. Carla, I hope your surgery helps you! I had more to say, but I've forgotten it now.

Love you all!

 Vickie

Aren't mom's great? Mine always knows how to put me down, too. I'm sure the bear is wonderful because it's made with love.

If you want to see, then do it.

Geez, you know, Eileen, I hope I'm not like that. I try not to criticize, really I do. I feel like I bite my tongue all the time. I don't want my girls to talk about me the way I talk about my mom.

Glad you and Gary are getting settled in. I'm sure it's a big relief that his things finally arrived! I'm so happy you are moved and have a new roommate!

Love you!
