Wednesday - It's Raining, It's Pouring.......
The one I'm looking at looks like the old fashioned outdoor antennas, and it's supposed to pick up stations within a 65 mile range, so I'd be able to get Boston broadcast stations which would include ABC, CBS, NBC... Like this. There are also indoor antennas like this....but usually the range on these is about 30 miles. So the indoor one works fine near the city. Visited someone who had one and they got about 15 different tv stations.
I want the antenna because Netflix doesn't have live news coverage, which I'd like to have. My current cable package includes some premium stations...they always give you a better deal if you call and say you're going to cancel...or I could go down to basic cable which is somewhat cheaper, but I figure the antenna would be a one-time expense.
I'm trying to figure out the cheapest way to get internet access. Right now, I'm thinking Charter Wireless Internet, Ooma phone and Trac phone, Antenna and Netflix. We'll see how it works out!
Connie,
I have been meaning to thank you for the protein snack ideas you gave me last week and the protein bar suggestions last night.
Y'all know I am a picky eater and was really worried about protein shakes. I had tried some from when a couple friend's and my daughter had their WLS, but they about gagged me.
My nephew is into bodybuilding and uses Cellucor protein shakes. They come in a lot of flavors...I am hooked on the mocha chocolate. It is pricey...for me...about $29 for 22 servings. But they are SO good Jazz and Jim 'try to steal' them from me!
You can find them on Amazon and sign up for a free 30 day Prime membership and get free shipping. I have not found samples on Amazon, but I believe you can return it if you don't like it.
I have found samples on E-Bay for as cheap as $5.99 for 6 servings of a variety of flavors.
The mocha chocolate is about 28 grams of protein, less than 5g carbs & sugar...I put in blender w/a few ice cubes and my almond milk and I feel like I am drinking a shake from the Sundae Shop.
Just to pass along...
Oh, and they definitely suppress my hunger!

netrition.com - you can buy samples for $1.95 each - from several different flavors in several flavors.
She's ba-ack!
My laptop totally crashed on Sunday. My son had to download Windows, burn it on a disc, and mail it. I got it yesterday, and now, I must rebuild everything. Microsoft Office, my bookmarks, and everything else. It's working, but not up to my level, YET.
So, like all things that happen in life, Murphy's Law took over, and in addition to being in pain with the arthritis in my foot, I got sick and had the dry heaves all day on Monday. Like Forrest Gump said, "**** Happens." Oh, and did I mention I ran out of my antidepressant over the weekend, and didn't realize I didn't have it, so I had to call my doctor to get a refill. Timing suck.
Soo, now, I'm wearing that ugly boot, and hobbling around like I did when I got the cast off my foot. It kills my back.
Sorry for whining. I hate doing that when folks here, and in all over the world have much bigger problems physically and otherwise.
I missed all of you, and will catch up later.
Today is the kids program at church, and I have to get over to the church to get my lesson ready. Plus, to the post office, and the bank.
Love to all,
Trish

Im pulling up the middle of the afternoon. We went to My gym this morning. Then to a play date at the park. Now Vin is taking a nap and my husband went out to lunch with his friend.
The new altinator is humming along in my car!!! Now my car is running like a new car!!!
Friday I see the surgeon. So we shall see what is what.
Our company is back in Denver. We had a blast all week.
It is cold here in Chicago. My thin Florida blood doesn't like this Chicago 55 degree weather!
Im hoping to sneak to see a friend in Michigan on Saturday!!

Hello everyone. It's been a busy day so far but we are done now for the day. Well, our gas stove company is sending someone by to look at the roof vent for the stove to see what needs to be done -- and whether or not we need to coordinate their service with the roof repairs. Still haven't heard from the roofing company. Sometimes it seems like all services have us in a hurry up and wait mode.
It's actually warm out. But, we'll take it as soon enough we'll have our share of overcast and rainy days.
I slept pretty well last night. I'm grateful for that. I really needed a good nights sleep after the appointment filled day we had yesterday.
Have a good rest of the day today.

It's hard lining up workers....I need minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work done, plus some general labor like cleaning gutters, hanging curtains and blinds.... I found one guy years ago that was able to "do it all" -- but he ended up screwing me royally...it was right after my husband died and I should have brought criminal charges against him. Hopefully, I'm wiser now that I'm older.
Mary, maybe you can ask friends for names of workers they have used and liked. Or, check Angie's List or one of those type of sites to check out reviews.
Back in the late 90's I hired a couple of guys who came door-to-door for roof cleaning to clear our shake roof of pine needles. I paid them upfront. Guess what??!! They never showed. I learned a valuable lesson that day.
We try to get referrals whenever we can for work we're planning on having done around our current house. In the case of the deck, that meant that we had to wait six months for work to begin. Good trades folks are in demand.
Good luck with your projects. I hope you find people you are happy with.
