Sleepless In Oregon

Good morning Cindy, Cindi, Mary, Jeannie and all my sistas,

Wow, I'm really draggin' this morning.  Like Jeannie, I'm too old to stay up all hours of the night anymore.

Yesterday afternoon we had Budder's little family birthday party.  Such a sweet, joyous child!  He was so cute and so excited when he realized we were singing Happy Birthday to HIM!  His whole little face just lit up!  Look how sweet he is:

Then we took Benny downtown to the Majestic Theatre to see The Little Mermaid.  Wow, the Majestic is very aptly named.  It has a stunning interior!  Looks like something you might see as a reproduction in Las Vegas--only this is the real thing.  Quite an impressive venue.

Anyway, we three girls LOVED the show.  Benny?  Meh.  Not so much.  It was too long, for one thing.  2 1/2 hours with a 15 minute intermission.  That was a lot of sitting time for a little fella.  For another, we were pretty high up.  I don't think he ever really caught on to or followed the story line.  So, now that we've been there, I see where we need to be sitting.  Next time I'll be quicker on the draw buying tickets and I know where to seat us.

Here we are waiting for the doors to open:

And here's a shot of the interior of the theatre.  Wow!

So, it was very late when we finally got home.  After midnight.  And I told Chris it would be too hard for Benny to have to get up and go to school on so little sleep, so he spent the night with me and he's spending the day home with us today.  Last night was a special occasion, and it's only kindergarten, for Pete's sake.  It won't hurt for him to miss today.

(Last night was interesting to say the least!  It was Carrie, Benny, Lulu (dog), and me all piled into my bed.  We were practicing togetherness!  I kinda have a crick in my neck this morning from sleeping sideways all night!)

Carrie drives back to Waco today.  Then Mom and I are driving up to Waco Wednesday afternoon.  Carrie's appointment with the OB is Thursday morning.  We are all so excited to find out what Pita is going to be!

I had to cancel my meeting for the grant project this morning.  I thought it was more important to keep Benny here and let him rest today.  My friend Pam was okay with it.  We will reschedule it for next week.

Well, I don't have any news.  I plan to take Benny to the Halloween store today and we'll look at costumes and fall decor.  I expect I will have trick-or-treaters this year.  It's been over 20 years since I've lived in a neighborhood.  I need Halloween stuff this year.

Cindi, thinking about you and the Big Move today!  Love you all!

Vickie:  Benny and Budder are adorable and you have so much fun together.  I am glad that you have a close relationship with them.

We all will be thinking of you and Carrie and your mom this Thursday morning!  I've got my fingers and toes crossed that Pita is a little girl but I know you will be happy either way.  It's just that a little girl would be so much fun for you to sew for!!

Have fun with Benny today.

Good morning Cindy and everyone.....

I doesn't sound like anyone got the sleep they needed last night. I  hope that all changes for us soon. Maybe after the full moon thins will settle down some.

I am so sorry you need to have all those roof repairs done. Good thing you are getting them done. Your weather will be changing again soon. Always something isn't it!!

I am praying your new therapist appointment goes well. I see my new one on Thursday. I hope she read up good on my case because there things I don't care to rehash again either!! If she starts in that direction I will just say, now is not a good time.

I am praying that your trip to Idaho goes well, and that you get to see some friends while you are there. I pray for the friend and family of the one that has stage 4 kidney cancer. That will be a heartbreaking visit. I am so sorry. Enjoy just chilling!!

I used to drive by both my previous homes in Iowa. I quit doing it. I cry as how they have let things go. The lawns and shrubs and landscaping, my husband worked so hard to make it so pretty is drab. Plus, they have just don't kept the houses up like we did. They are both in really nice neighborhoods too. These houses were only a few years old when we moved to another state. It makes me to sad. I do know that the people that bought our home in Illinois has taken care of that. They even added an extension. My ex-hushand called me to let me know. I am glad because that was a favorite of mine. I hope you have better luck with yours!!

As for me... Not much. I needed to call and set up couple appointment. One is for a bone density test and the other is a colonoscopy. They are both later in October. Gee...I am so excited....NOT!! Really it is just the prep for the colonoscopy that I dread!!

I am going outside for a walk soon. First I need a shower. I couldn't take one sooner because I was waiting for schedulers to call me back. The last one just called so off I go!!

Everyone have a lovely day! I will try to stop back in later on.

Prayers for our beautiful OFF Family and their families.

Much love and many hugs to all....connie d

Connie:  It IS hard to go by houses that we've owned and see them in a deteriorated state.  We've loved most of the houses we had (all for different reasons) -- but we enjoyed them when we lived in them.  We had three houses in Idaho during the 20 years we lived there.  They were all within five miles of each other.  The last one was my favorite.  I am looking forward to driving around the city to see our houses and also to see what has changed in the years since we moved away.

I think you have a good plan re your therapist appointment and setting boundaries about what you're willing to talk about.  That's exactly what I plan to do.  I will be saying extra prayers for a good appointment for you.

It's very cold this morning.  Brrrrrrr.  No wonder the heat was on last night.

Hello Cindy....WOW....the heat is on already? I just shut the A/C off yesterday. I guess because you are so close to the ocean it is colder. Much damper for sure. What are your night time temps?

I love going to those past homes only for one reason. Like you, because of how the area changed so much. My favorite home was in a new development. It is a huge development now!! They even built a new school out there!

I will be praying your therapy appointment goes as planned for you!!

I love you....HUGS....connie d

Connie:  I think our temp last night was in the high 30's or very low 40's.  All I know is that it was very cold out there this morning when I took Logan out.  There wasn't any frost but it was a shock nonetheless.

Hi Cindy and my OFF family:

I was going to get on here earlier, but my computer had to get updated. So I took my shower and had lunch instead. As for sleeping, I slept well ... I would have slept even better, but I pu****erproof tape on my splint and got it too tight, and my finger was hurting. I wanted it on there so if I went to the pool the finger wouldn't get wet. Well, if I do that again, I won't put it on so tightly. It hurt so much I was pulling at it to get it off. Now, it's fine.

Not much else happening. I'm waiting on stories. Cardinals-Pirates, Packers-Chiefs, local golf and volleyball.

Big collision in the Cardinals' outfield just now: Bourjos and Piscotty going after a fly ball. Just carted Steven Piscotty off on a stretcher. The guy seems alert as he leaves.

Anyway that's my excitement. Have a good night.
