So, it's Sunday...what's up
Hello Kathy....thank you for sharing about your Jim. I understand him much better now. However, I still feel really bad for him and his son. Lung cancer is so painful and prolonged. You would think that alone would stop someone from wanting to smoke. Especially someone only 34 years old. Oh well, let them do it their way. We know where they are headed! I feel sorry for you having to deal with all this. I keep you all in my prayers.
So what is your plan for your favorite meals today? I could have had anything but I chose spaghetti with meat sauce and cheesy garlic bread!!!! That has always been my favorite meal. Oh yes...with wine!!! I still crave it!! Enjoy whatever you want!!
I know you will do great with the liquid diet. It was easier for me because I lived alone. But, you are determined and you will do it!!! I didn't mind it at all. I had 4 protein drinks a day and SF popsicles, SF jello and broth. Just keep your eye on the PRIZE!! You will be surprised at how well those protein drinks work to keep you from feeling starved. I will be cheering you on!!!! Prayers and good luck too!!!! I am always here for you for questions or cheering up!! Hang on it is a wild ride!!!
I LOVE YOU, KATHY!!!!! I believe in you!!!!
Have a good rest of the day....more love and hugs...connie d
Hi Jeannie and crew,
I am always encouraged when you write Jeannie...you have such a positive outlook on your medical issues. I can see why the college students are drawn to you.
It is still hot here in CA but the season is changing. I think this week is the last hurrah for summer weather. Now we beg for lots and lots and lots of rain. We are so behind on rain that we need three times our normal amount to be ok. It is a bad situation.
I told you a couple of months ago that we bought the house across the street for our daughter. She is making the payments, but we are the co owners and do all of the maintenance and repairs. This week both of our houses are getting a new roof. Both houses are about thirty years old and have shake roofing. Her roof is worse but both need to be replaced so now is the time. I know that the noise and craziness will be hard on our pets, especially the dogs. I am hoping that they adjust and don't bark for the week of turmoil. We might be going on long drives to get away.
Time for me to do a bit of cleaning. I put out some Halloween decor and need to do some dusting and wash. Sometimes I wish that we could do a spur of the moment coffee break. It would be nice to visit in person once in a while.
Julia
Hello Julia....WOW...two roofs at once....the neighbors are going to love that!! Oh well... they need to be done. I agree...plan some getaways!!
Dogs are so much more sensitive to noise then we are. That is why they don't want to go out when it rains. It is the sound of that rain that hurts their ears! My daughter got something for her one dog. It is a vest like thing that they put on Kippley if it storms or if there are load noises and such. Even if they just get agitated about something like other dogs in the house. No one believed how great they wor****il she got one. Kippley is at least 90% calmer with that on. It stormed the day they got it and it worked immediately. She doesn't even mind having it on. They got it at PETCO and it was about $40. They said it is so worth it!! No more scared or panicked dog.
Halloween was always my favorite holiday. I loved to decorate and dress up! I love all the little ones in their costumes. Mostly now people just have their own parties. The city here puts on a huge Halloween Party for kids. It is at the collage in a huge building. It is all decorated and they have games, have face painting, and all kinds of things for the kids. Everyone really loves it!! Vendors bring in all kinds of treats and drinks for everyone. It is quite the party!!
A lot of others meet in designated parking lots and pass out candy from their trunks. All well supervised by our men and women in blue!!
Have a good rest of the day...love and hugs.....connie d
Julia,
I don't know what you guys are going to do without the water...do you think you guys will get to the point of desalinating the ocean water? My aunts and some of my cousins live there and they are all thinking of selling out and moving back to AR...I hope they do because truly,CA doesn't have the resources for all those folks and maybe if a few million left. Well, you know. The truth about my attitude is I've done the anger thing and it wasn't pretty so I realized that you change those things you can and learn to live with those you cannot change...hence the I got this attitude. But, there are days when I do still get a little pissed...I want to run again, you know?
Hi Jeannie and my OFF family:
Watching the Colts and Titans. Please excuse typos as it's hard to type with splint on my pinkie. I try to check after I'm done but even so ...
My body is hurting a lot today. It's cloudy and looks like rain. Don't think we'll get to see the supermoon/eclipse tonight. Back was hurting when I woke up and I took a vicodin to start the day, plus put an icepack on it. So far, haven't noticed either worked. And I'm very sleepy. I had the extreme sleepies last night, too.
Not much else happening with me. Work later today. Hope it's quiet.
Jeannie, I hope your MS/RA symptoms are abating and you can get the shingles shot. It's something I need to get, too.
Cindi, I'm glad you got someone affiliated with Allied. I have used Allied in my past and they were very good. Gary used someone called USA Moving Group and so far he's unimpressed.
Connie, enjoy your day doing what makes you happy.
As for the rest of you, have a good day.
Hello Eileen...how long do you have to wear the splint? That would be annoying especially typing or bathing!
You can't keep awake either...I hate feeling so damn tired!! I can fall asleep so easy....except at night! I hope your doctor can figure out what is going on. I am so sorry your pain is worse. If a Vicodin doesn't help there has to be something else. Probably a cross between the Fibro and the arthritis.
I hope work doesn't cause you more pain. I worry about you.
I did go out for a nice long walk outside. It got a little warmer at the end. The temps are still climbing a bit. It still was god to be out in the sunshine and fresh air!!
Love you much...HUGS....connie d
Eileen,
shingles are the total pitts...the pain alone is enough to make one go off of other meds. LOL...I was at walmart today doing some shopping and felt a tingle in my upper arm and my first thought was oh crap...but so far nothing so maybe it was just a little moment and nothing else. Have you gotten all moved in?
I am all moved in but still have plenty to unpack. My brother's stuff has not arrived from his movers and he is plenty pissed off. He's still sleeping on an aerobed. He has back issues too so he's in some pain everyday.
I got Percocet for my broken finger but I'm only taking that at night when I get home (I only got a two-day supply, or so the script read). The pain from the finger is minimal as long as I keep the splint on.
