I'm back.  

I hope everyone is preparing for a great weekend.  Colleen's Dad and his wife will be in town, so I'm giving them their space, because the kids hardly see them anymore.  he only visits for long weekends, and they only get to PA once or twice a year.  He and I get along great, so that's not an issue.  

I'm looking into volunteering at a Special Olympics event, if it's not too late.  Not sure, but it's worth the research.  Also, I have to work on this laptop, and apply for a substitute teaching job around here.  I'd like to get some part time income, and finally found my undergrad transcripts, which I'd misplaced.  Then, there is tons to do here, especially to get my garage organized for the coming deep freeze.

I better scoot.

Oh, THERE you are, Trish!  LOL!  We were posting at the same time.  I should really do the substitute teaching thing, too.  Only thing is, I really don't want to be tied down right now.  Income vs. Freedom--hmmm?  Maybe I'll wait awhile...

The reason I'm applying to sub has to do with the flexibility.  First, most school districts use online notification of subbing needs.  No more early morning phone calls.  Second, I can choose when and where to work.  I got most of the application done this evening.

I think the idea of volunteering for the Special Olympics is a great idea. I think you would be a great assist to them!!!

The same goes for substitute teaching now and then. I know you always love to be helping others, especially children!!! I hope it works out for you!!

I am so not looking for all those long cold winter days. It seems to just go on and on. We have winter way to harsh and way to long!!! Guess you better work on the garage first then finish up the house. I feel like such a slough along....it is embarrassing!

Good morning/afternoon to everyone....

I am doing okay. The weather is crazy and making me crazy!!! I want some windows open as it is only 63 degrees. The humidity is still at 89%. I guess it is almost time to put the A/C back on..UGH!

I slept in today too. I woke up at 9:00 AM but laid there for a while just snuggling under the blanket. No real plans today. I will go for my walk but not outside. 

I got a message last night that I could have done without. Not feeling like talking about it yet. I need to think it over. Not good timing for sure.

I did just a bit of coloring earlier...I enjoy that so much!! Nancy B is the one that started me on it. Nancy was always here on OFF but has migrated to Facebook. She makes gorgeous mandalas. I loved coloring her's too!! She has a wonderful site.

I kept thinking it was Saturday and just now noticed it is Friday. What a goofball!! 

It is time for my little walk. I will check in again later.

Good morning Trish!  Where'd ya go???  

And good morning to all my sistas, as well.  

I am glad today is Friday because it means my Carrie (and little Pita!) are coming today.  The weekends that I have my family all together are the best!  Right Connie?

So, yesterday I just didn't feel all that well, but I did finish that huge valance!  I had to do some piecing, but I got it.  All together, those two kitchen windows equaled TEN FEET.  No wonder my shoulder aches from handling so much material and reaching over my head to hang all these things.  Oh, it has just changed the character of my house SO MUCH to have these new window coverings in place!  I love blue and white.  The atmosphere in here is just so much lighter and airier now.  Here's a pic:

Anyway, today I plan to make the rest of the place mats.  They're easy.  And then I have to clean up my sewing mess and put it away for awhile.  Since Carrie has to stay in my room with me, I can't have all that mess scattered everywhere.  And then next week, Mom and I are going up to Waco to be there for the Big Gender Reveal (LOL!) sonogram, so I won't be getting any sewing done next week.  

Yesterday I ordered TWO diaper bags--one in pink and one in blue.  My friend Pam (the one who asked me to work on the grants) sent me the link to her school's fundraiser from a company called Mixed Bag Designs.  The diaper bags weren't expensive at all, so I ordered both colors.  One thing I have learned with babies, is you can never have too many bags!  If Pita is a girl, I'll give Carrie the pink one and I'll use the blue one here.  Or visa versa.  I'm going to have to have duplicates of almost everything here if I'm going to be keeping the baby while Carrie finishes her dissertation and does her defense next summer.

Tomorrow (Saturday) we are going to the Outlet Mall for a shopping trip.  Chris has the day off, so it will be us three girls and the boys in tow!  But it will be fun.  We want to go to the maternity wear store there.  And the boys need shoes.  And there's just no telling what all we might find there.  There's usually a seasonal store or two in residence--maybe Halloween costumes or Christmas stuff.  It's fun to look.

I wish they had linens there!  I need a bedspread outlet store.

Well, I need to get moving.  I slept LATE today!  All the way to 9 a.m.!  I took two Tylenol PM last night around midnight and I slept all night long.  I spent several hours coloring last night, too.  I'm really starting to get hooked on that activity.  I listen to my audiobook and color.  It's not productive in the least, but it is fun.

(Why do I feel I always have to be doing something productive?  IDK.  But it's a feeling that haunts me constantly.)

Hoping we hear from Kathy today.  I checked on FB, but nothing new there.

Thinking about so many of you today.  I hope everyone is well and no more accidents, mishaps, or illnesses today!

I am glad you are sleeping better...that is always good! I envy you the shopping trip w/both your girls. It is really hard for me to get the 3 of mine together...the youngest 2 work like dogs! And like I have mentioned I just loved when Jazz's mom was pregnant w/her! Such good times & memories!

I have to agree that the valances and curtains...drapes...look so awesome and homey. You just have 'the touch.' I just love when my decorating ideas come together, but they are always store-bought! I just want to stay home and 'nest' when I have gotten a room to my liking. Enjoy!

I also have a problem w/feeling like I need to have something to show for everyday as far as using my time wisely. Maybe it's from us working for years or just the generation we were raised in, but I know I always feel better if I accomplish a few things each day.

Hello sweet Vickie....like I said before you are a professional! I am in awe at the things you can just whip together. Everything you have sewn is just so beautiful!! Your rooms just fall together. I was never a great blue lover, but you have turned me around!! The patterns and colors are so pretty!! I am so proud of you!!

I am glad you found the diaper bags. You are right we are always in need of tote bags. Diaper bags now don't look so completely baby anymore. That is good because they can be used for anything!! I think I will check out that site too!!

I am glad you have the weekend planned with your family!! Please hug each other for me!! I love every one of you!!! Have a fantastic time!!!! 

I am so happy you are sleeping better these days. I hope it lasts!! We always feel better after a good nights sleep.

I did some coloring last night too. I could do it for hours if my hands would agree! I do a little and then go back to it and so on. My Carrie just loved my fan coloring book. She never knew they existed. I think she will be getting some soon!!!

I am the same way. I just can't be doing nothing with my time. I have been like this all my life too!! I can't do big things anymore, but I am always finding little things to do!!! Sometimes it isn't anymore then filling up my soap dispensers, reorganizing a draw or rearranging things from one place in a room to the other. I just have to do something!! I wish my body could keep up with my mind!!!
